"L-Lady Qing...are you sure about betting that much?" Li Hai Tang murmured, so taken aback that he stuttered a bit, despite usually being very calm and composed. The other two patriarchs were also gaping in shock.
Qing Xin didn't respond, but instead looked towards the transparent speaker room across from their seats. Song Qian Long was currently preparing to announce the start of the first match.
"Lady Qing, I recommend lowering your bet," Xuan Yang suggested. "After all, should you lose, the Qing family will be completely depleted of all land..."
Qing Xin glanced at Xuan Yang in disdain. "Hmph. If you're so concerned, there's always the option of not taking anything even if you win."
"Ah...hahahaha...." Xuan Yang laughed awkwardly, having being caught off guard with this statement.
"Still," Li Hai Tang joined in. "Lady Qing, Class D does not have a chance of winning this tournament. I suggest you reconsider."

I'm going to be honest with you: I was planning to start the actual fight in this chapter, but uh...
Okay, fine. I will admit it: I didn't plan things through.
I have been brainstorming about this fight for a while now, but even now I still have not pieced everything together just yet. Don't worry though, the next chapter will be solely focused on the fight. I'm sorry for the drag.
On the other hand, though, in this chapter we did finally get a glimpse of who Ming Hao really is. He has the special power of being able to sense mana. This is different from Xuan Kai's ability to read the auras of powerful people. Ming Hao's is like a more advanced version of Xuan Kai's, you could say. He's quite a mysterious character, and that not only goes for his abilities but also his identity. His true identity will come as a big shock, at least that's what I'm hoping. It will also be the root cause of a new arc, but that won't be happening anytime soon.
Still, for now, I can tell you this - Ming Hao will become one of the few male friends Xuan Kai makes. He's the typical best wingman dude. They will grow pretty close to one another, actually. But for BL fans out there, sorry, that's not happening. You're still free to ship them and write fanfics of it though!
In any case, I've got the basic outline of the battle coming in the next chapter down. Look forward to it.
