Capítulo 56: Everyone Hates Wormtail

It was the Tuesday after Christmas when Cassie received a short, but impassioned letter from Ron. The school owl burdened with the message had made its flight through some rather nasty weather, and it was still sleeting. Her chocolate brown feathers were tousled from the icy gusts of wind, and Severus offered her some tea and toast while Cassie read through Ron's untidy handwriting.

"I can't believe the Ministry is still pursuing Buckbeak's execution," she told Severus through gritted teeth, "when Pettigrew hasn't even been taken care of!"

"It must be at Lucius's insistence."

"I'm going to eviscerate him!" she hissed. She was already making her way to the entry hall to fetch her traveling cloak.

"Cassie, wait - " said Severus. His girlfriend's response was to slam the letter so hard into his sternum that he grunted and stumbled back a step. He threw the crumpled parchment aside, grabbing for the enraged witch's arm as she tried to pull her burgundy cloak over her seafoam green lounge dress.

"Can you imagine the state Hagrid must be in?" she continued bitterly, not noticing that Severus had tugged the sleeve of her cloak off of her arm.

"I know, Cassie. I feel for Hagrid as well. But let's think rationally about this - "

"I don't want to be rational!"

"That I can see," Severus said, trying to hide all hints of the small grin that was forming at one corner of his mouth. Now was not the time to incite the girl's anger by smiling at her, but he couldn't help that her passion for defending Hagrid was making him feel rather enamored with her. "However, appealing to Lucius's empathetic side will get us nowhere. He obviously has Fudge's approval. I think the situation must be approached from a different angle."

Cassie watched him silently, his words processing behind her large, sapphire eyes. She seemed to realize that the cloak she had meant to put on was now completely in his hands. Letting out an annoyed huff, she snatched it back from him.

"Okay," she said, hanging the cloak back up, "let's come up with a new plan." He led her into the kitchen, putting on a pot of tea as she sat down.

They had finished two cups each and still had not come up with anything that might convince Lucius to give up his conquest to execute Buckbeak. Cassie was starting to feel like her original plan of disembowelment would be her best bet, when her eyes fell on a small pile of mail on the kitchen counter. In it, were two letters from the Ministry. They were, more or less, the same request that she join Fudge on his trip to St. Petersberg in March. She had already declined both.

"Sev," she said quietly, "What if we don't have to persuade Lucius?"

His onyx eyes followed her gaze to the letters, his apprehension evident as his expression shifted on his pale features. "You were adamant that you did not want to accompany Fudge."

"I still don't want to."

"Then I suggest you follow your initial instinct," he replied evenly.

"But this is Hagrid we're talking about," Cassie said with a sigh. "What else can we do?" There were several moments of silence between them. When neither of them had an alternative, Cassie knew she had her answer.

The rest of her day was spent traveling to London so she could meet with Fudge in person. She wanted the Minister's promise in person, in front of witnesses, that if she agreed to his terms that Buckbeak would be cleared of any crimes. Fudge was delighted that she was willing to attend the forum in Russia and had readily agreed to let Buckbeak go free. It all seemed a little too easy. By the time Cassie was walking back through her front door, she felt dirty, like she had made a deal with the devil.

Severus and Arthur were in the middle of a chess game when she entered the sitting room. It was a heartwarming sight, especially after all the unpleasantness she had endured that afternoon.

"Cass," Arthur said, his eyes glued to the chessboard as his knight moved over two spaces, "how did everything go, dear?"

"It went fine."

"You don't sound fine," the Weasley patriarch countered gently. He winced as Severus's rook bashed one of his pawns across the head.

"Her conversations with the Minister are never all that enjoyable," said Severus, glancing up at her and offering her a small, encouraging half-smile.

"I accomplished what I set out to do," she said, plopping down on the loveseat and running a hand through her raven hair. "Buckbeak is to go free. I watched Fudge write the letter and Umbridge notarize it. As long as it got sent to the proper departments - "

"I'll double-check when I go in to work tomorrow," Arthur reassured her.

"Thank you. And an owl was sent to Hagrid, so he'll know soon as well."

"He'll be ecstatic," said Severus as Arthur's queen attacked his remaining bishop. He reached for the glass of wine that was sitting next to the board and drained nearly half the glass in one swig.

Cassie poured herself a glass of wine, observing their game silently for a while. It was peaceful watching them enjoy one another's company. They were arguably two of the most important men in her life. Severus was planning his next move, his thumb and pointer finger on his chin as he studied the board. Arthur made some quip that Cassie didn't hear, as she was so enthralled with watching their interactions, and Severus laughed. It made her heart sing. She rarely saw him at such peace, especially since Lupin had started at Hogwarts.

It was well into the evening and Arthur was a bit tipsy when he realized that he should be heading back to the Burrow. "Molly will think I've fallen into a snowbank somewhere," he said with a wink. "You kids have a good night." He disappeared with a loud pop.

"That was nice of him to stop by," Cassie said with a yawn as they made their way to the bedroom.

"There was a reason for his visit," Severus replied. He was rubbing her shoulders as he spoke, perhaps as a way to ease the tension he was feeling, as well as hers. "He told me that Pettigrew's trial has been scheduled for December thirty-first."

"Happy new year," Cassie deadpanned.

~*~*~*~*~

The moment Cassie spotted the large boa constrictor in the tree above her head, she knew she had let too much time pass between visits. When Boros spotted her, he slithered down the trunk, his tongue flicking out as he hissed at her happily.

"You brought him something to eat, I hope?" Silvanus Kettleburn asked, a jovial look on his face as he watched the snake approach them. "He's still a hog, this one. Eats more than my three occamy males combined!"

"I brought him a treat," said Cassie, pulling a fat, dead rat from her robes. She threw it to the transfigured basilisk just as he hit the ground. He snatched it out of the air, his yellow eyes watching her as he started to swallow the rodent. "Anything I need to know about caring for him?"

"Under normal circumstances, I would say that he needs higher temperatures to maintain his body heat," Kettleburn said, stroking his snow-white beard. "But he seems to prefer cooler environments. I attribute it to the fact that he's not a true constrictor."

Cassie nodded. Boros had finished swallowing his food and was creeping up her leg. "More rats, Mistress?" the snake asked her as he settled most of his body across her shoulders. She pulled another rat from her pocket and gave it to him.

"Thank you for looking after him, Silvanus," Cassie said as she stroked Boros's head.

"He's a good boy," Kettleburn said with a warm smile. "What will you be using him for, anyway?"

Cassie returned the retired professor's smile. "I just thought I could use a little backup in case another rat goes missing."

New Year's Eve day was quickly upon them. Pettigrew's trial was to start at noon but Cassie had already been at the Ministry of Magic for several hours before members of the Wizengamot started to make their way into the designated dungeon chamber. She could feel the stares from the purple-clad witches and wizards as they spotted her, although she knew she looked a sight, sitting there with Boros draped over her shoulders.

"I'll give you ten galleons for each one that has a stroke after they see you," Sirius hissed in her ear with a laugh.

"See me?" she responded incredulously. "Just the sight of you at all is likely to give one of them a coronary!"

"One can only hope."

"Now," Remus said in his most forbearing tone, "wishing ill upon senior members of the ministry is probably not going to help anyone's nerves." He nodded slightly to Harry, who was sitting between him and Sirius.

Cassie snorted. "He looks fine. Merlin knows unpleasant politicians aren't nearly as bad as some of the things he's dealt with. Right, Harry?"

The third-year Gryffindor smiled at her. "Yeah, definitely."

"And besides," Cassie continued, "those chaps won't ever get any sympathy from me. They've given me - and Sirius - enough grief over the years."

Sirius nodded enthusiastically. "In fact, here comes Barty Crouch now, wouldn't mind if he would just drop dead of his own accord - "

"What'd he do?" Harry asked as the foursome watched the neatly-groomed wizard file in behind other ministry officials.

"Refused to give me a trial and then sentenced me to Azkaban," Sirius growled lowly. Harry stared at his godfather, obviously at a loss for words.

"Maybe he'll apologize," said Remus. Sirius huffed, crossing his arms across his chest.

"Harry," came a sharp whisper from Hermione, who was seated in the row behind them with the entire Weasley family. "Look, Professor Dumbledore is here!"

The chamber, which had been filling up in the last few minutes, grew silent for a few moments as Dumbledore strode in. All eyes were on the Headmaster as he strode over to the elevated benches that contained Fudge and the rest of the plum robes. When he finished shaking hands, he started to make his way over to where Cassie and the rest of the group were seated.

"Well," Cassie said nonchalantly, making an exaggerated look over the large room, "Looks like there are no open seats, guess I'll move - "

"We can scoot over," a wizard down the row said right away, but Cassie was already standing.

"You can have my seat, Albus," she said, stepping away. Dumbledore gave her a small nod as he took over her spot next to Sirius.

Crookshanks, who had been sitting on Hermione's lap, suddenly leaped from his comfy spot. He darted between wizards in their seats and quickly fell in step at Cassie's heels. Loud whispers followed her as she walked in front of the occupied benches. Apparently, all it took to frighten people was to have a large serpent around her neck.

As she neared the members of the Wizengamot, Cassie heard a familiar hem, hem! come from far above her. "Excuse me, Miss Black," Umbridge called in her sickeningly-sweet voice, "but animals are not permitted in this chamber."

Cassie raised her head to meet the amphibian-like witch's eyes. "Understood. But as you can see, we are leaving."

"Mistress is annoyed," Boros hissed near Cassie's ear, "Boros can feel it."

"It is okay. Just some bothersome witch," Cassie replied in Parseltongue. A collective gasp came from the purple-clad witches and wizards. Cassie, although a bit satisfied by their idiotic reactions, still couldn't help but roll her eyes as she left the chamber.

She glanced at the large clock in the corridor. It was five minutes to noon, meaning Pettigrew would be brought in soon and the trial would begin. Like she had hoped, she was currently alone in the hallway, giving her some solitude.

"Shall Boros begin his search?" the serpent around her shoulders asked.

"The rat is still human now. But you may have a look around." Boros slithered to the stone floor, investigating the nooks and crannies of the dungeon.

Crookshanks sat near the door they had come from, listening to the sounds coming from the courtroom. Pettigrew must have been brought in because people were hollering for a few moments before Fudge's projected voice requested that everyone please be quiet. The minutes ticked by as Cassie slowly walked the corridor with her wand in hand. Boros continued to move about, sticking his scaled head in small cracks and holes in the wall or flicking his tongue in the air to capture interesting smells. Crookshanks still sat, his large yellow eyes staring either at Boros or Cassie or the chamber door.

Cassie nearly jumped when the door burst open and Tonks came through. Crookshanks moved to peek inside before it closed again.

"Cass," Tonks said sharply, her short, electric yellow hair making her purple eyes crackle with electricity. "What in Merlin's name are you doing?"

"Hey, Dora. Nice to see you, too."

"Don't play games with me," her cousin demanded, eyeing the sparkling white wand in Cassie's hand. "You're up to something, aren't you? Making a scene in there - "

"What scene? All I did was walk out the door."

"You spoke Parseltongue!"

"As I'm a Parselmouth, that only makes sense, doesn't it?"

"Stop it!" Tonks pointed at Boros, who was watching them carefully now. "Why do you even have that thing here?"

"That thing is my familiar."

"I've never seen you with it before! Why would you need to have a familiar here today? And what's with the cat?"

"He belongs to Hermione Granger."

"That's not an answer!" Tonks ran an agitated hand through her hair. "Look, Cass. Today is a huge deal. I have bigger things to worry about than what you're up to out here - "

"Then go back inside," Cassie said evenly.

The cousins silently sized each other up for a few moments. Something seemed to click behind Tonks's eyes. "You think we're that incapable of taking care of Pettigrew?"

Cassie blinked, mulling over what she would say next. She loved her cousin, she really did. She didn't want to fight with her. "Define 'we'."

"The Aurors, my department, Amelia Bones - me?"

With a sigh, Cassie slumped back against the wall. She hated making her beloved cousin feel so slighted, especially when she loved being an Auror so much. "After Fudge has proven over and over again how much of an imbecile he is? How can you ask me that?"

Tonks's nostrils flared as she glared. "That's my boss!"

Cassie's temper began to flare as Tonks defended him. She fought every instinct to straighten back up to her full height, instead choosing to stay leaning back on the stone wall behind her. Regardless, her tone was unyielding when she spoke next. "Dora, go back inside," she repeated.

"You don't have the authority to say that to me, Cassie! Maybe I should have you escorted out of here - "

BOOM!

A blast in the chamber shook the corridor. Crookshanks yowled in surprise, darting between Cassie's feet as loosened stone fell from the ceiling. Tonks didn't hesitate, heaving the door open and running through with her wand drawn. A cloud of grey smoke billowed out from the courtroom, and people inside were yelling.

Cassie wanted to follow her cousin inside to see what was going on. With an explosion like that, there were likely to be injuries. But she needed to stay put. It was why she had bothered to come in the first place.

"He's gone! Pettigrew's gone!" a woman's shrill voice screeched over the rest of the commotion. Cassie felt her heart thump harder in her chest as she anticipated hunting for Peter Pettigrew once again.

"Look for the rat," Cassie told Boros. The snake was already winding down the hall, tasting the air. "Catch him, but don't kill him."

The ginger cat was indeed a smart animal. He was already trotting in the opposite direction of Boros. Cassie paced, her wand poised. So far, no one had come out into the corridor to look for Pettigrew. If she only had a few more moments, maybe she could catch him without interference.

Both animals reacted at the same time. The rat formerly known as Scabbers had shot out from a crack in the wall, likely thinking he would have a clear break to run. Crookshanks growled, aiming a swipe at him and just missing, making the rodent turn and run in the other direction. Cassie shot a stunning spell and missed, just like the day in her quarters. Swearing under her breath, she was questioning her choice of action as Crookshanks ran past her to try to get the rat, and she willed with all her might that he would be successful once again.

Pettigrew was about to dive under the opening of another closed door when Boros struck like lightning, grabbing the shrieking rat by his hind end. Cassie could barely comprehend her good luck, everything had happened so quickly, but she needed to stun him - and then the courtroom door started to open.

She swiped her wand through the air and slammed it back shut. Whoever had tried to come through was angry, a man's voice demanding that he be let through - Cassie made quick work of stunning Pettigrew and handing him back to Boros.

"Bring him to Severus," she told the serpent, "quickly!"

She watched as Boros slithered down the hall and out of sight, Crookshanks running at his side. Now all she could do was hope that they made it.

With a wave of her wrist, the chamber door swung open. Barty Crouch burst through it, followed by Umbridge, Fudge, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and a few younger Aurors Cassie had never met.

"Pettigrew!" Fudge shouted at her. "Have you seen him?"

Cassie scrunched up her face in fake confusion. "Wasn't he with you?"

"He escaped," Crouch said lowly, "no sign of him in the chamber - "

"What were you doing out here?" Umbridge suddenly demanded.

"Sending my animals home," Cassie said innocently, "as they aren't allowed here, according to you." The portly witch's mouth opened and closed a few times, like a hungry bullfrog. "Why, what did I miss?"

Out of courtesy, she helped the Aurors search the courtroom again, even though all she could worry about was whether or not Boros and Crookshanks had made it out with Pettigrew safely. While she pretended to look behind every seat, Fudge stood immobile and yammered at anyone who would listen. It got especially interesting when he cornered Dumbledore, who was trying to help ministry workers put benches and podiums back into their proper places.

"I don't know who would have wanted to cause a distraction," Fudge was saying. "It just doesn't make any sense, does it?"

"One could never begin to imagine inner workings of a Death Eater's mind, Cornelius," Dumbledore replied calmly.

"Death Eater?" Fudge nearly yelled. "Where have you gotten that idea?"

"Someone helped him to escape today," Amelia Bones interjected. "Had to be one of Pettigrew's old allies."

"Preposterous," Fudge said, waving his hand in front of him like he was shooing away a pestering fly. "It was someone trying to create a stir, make the front page of the Prophet."

"Like the trial isn't already front-page news?" Bones countered. "Either we have a traitor working here at the ministry, or someone in the gallery was in on it. I'd like to call everyone back for interrogations."

"Now, let's not be irrational," Fudge said, and Umbridge nodded enthusiastically beside him. "Can you imagine the hysteria if the public thinks there is another free Death Eater out there, on top of Pettigrew escaping? Assuming we can't find him, of course, but I'll have my Aurors on it night and day..."

Cassie couldn't stand listening to him any longer. She left the chamber without another word, not caring if anyone else wanted her help just then. She had already done more than her part, anyway.

"Cass!" she heard someone call. She turned to see Tonks standing in the corridor with a disapproving look on her face.

They looked at each other for several long moments. Finally, Tonks spoke. "You used to tell me things, you know."

Cassie cleared her throat, shifting on her feet uncomfortably. At that moment, all she wanted was to tell Tonks everything, that they had Pettigrew. That everything would be fine.

Instead, Cassie said, "Don't you have to get back to your boss?"

It was more than enough to get her cousin mad enough to walk away without another word. It left her free to get out of the ministry and find out what was going on with Pettigrew, though she felt terrible that she went about it the way she did. There was truth behind the words that were exchanged between them that day.

She was walking down the alley containing the bright red phone booth when she spotted a fluffy orange tail. Crookshanks ran up to her, and to her relief, he was purring.

"Hey, boy," she said, scratching him behind the ears. "You did so well today. I bet Hermione misses you."

"The cat is not the only one that did well," said Severus, suddenly coming into view as he took down his disillusionment charm. He had Pettigrew, still in rat form, caged and in his grip. Boros was curled up on the ground beside them, currently swallowing a large rabbit for his meal.

It was almost comical, the two of them traveling back to Ottery St. Catchpole with a snake, cat, and rat in tow. Cassie was making a joke about starting their own messed-up petting zoo when two loud pops announced the arrival of Sirius, Remus, and Harry. Cassie ushered them into the entryway of the little cottage, wanting to get them away from any potentially prying eyes.

"What happened?" Sirius asked right away. The five of them looked around at each other momentarily, and the discomfort between the three adults wizards was apparent. Cassie and Harry exchanged a fleeting glance.

"Obviously, Pettigrew has an ally," Severus said silkily.

"It's not obvious," Sirius retorted, glowering at his former classmate. "If it was, whoever had caused the diversion would have been caught!" Severus's lips were pressed together in a thin line as he prepared to argue, but Remus spoke first.

"You two were right, though," he said, scratching the back of his head as he looked between Cassie and Severus. "We needed to be prepared in case Peter was able to escape. If we hadn't come up with this plan, who knows where he would be right now."

"It's nothing," said Cassie. "If you dealt with Fudge as many times as we have, you would know that you have to be prepared for his inadequacy."

There was a lingering silence again. Some of the tension deflated when Harry nudged his godfather in the ribcage. "Ehem," Sirius started, clearing his throat. "Thank you. Both of you." He was looking at Cassie when he said it, and then he ripped his grey eyes away from her to force himself to look at Severus.

"Sev," Cassie said lightly, gesturing to the caged rat in his hands. Pettigrew was just starting to stir. When he noticed who was standing around him, he began to squeak in terror. Boros hissed in excitement.

"Hello, Peter," Sirius said smugly. Severus handed the cage over to him, and Sirius brought it up to his face so he could study him more closely. "I'm afraid your little adventures have come to an end."

It was decided that Peter needed to be disposed of quickly. None of them wanted to give him another chance to make a break for it, and Cassie understood that the safest thing to do was to stay put. She never imagined that they would kill him in the little cottage that Severus and she had learned to call home.

Harry was present when they forced Peter back into his human form. They gave the pitiful excuse for a wizard a chance to speak, and then they let Harry say his piece. The thirteen-year-old let his anger out, telling Pettigrew that he needed to pay for what he did to his parents. Sirius looked immensely proud as he stood beside Harry with a large hand clapped to his shoulder. Remus merely looked like he was going to be sick.

"Harry," Cassie said gently, holding out a hand to him. "Let's go for a walk."

"What?" Harry said, blinking in confusion. He looked to Sirius. "No, I want to stay - "

"You can't," Severus said bluntly.

"Now, just one moment," Sirius started, the volume of his voice rising dramatically. "As he's my godson, it is my decision!"

"This is my home," said Severus icily. "And as Potter has been my student for the past three years, I believe I am in the best position to decide whether or not he is mature enough to handle seeing someone be murdered in front of his very eyes."

"It's not murder! It's justice for James and Lily!" Sirius cried. Severus's stony expression didn't falter, even at the mention of Lily. Even so, Cassie was poised to intervene.

"Sirius," said Remus. His voice was quiet but firm. "I think you need to listen to what Severus has to say."

"Oh, that's just precious," Sirius spat. He took his wand from his robes. Harry took a step forward, but Cassie placed a hand on his chest to keep him advancing any further. "You work at Hogwarts for a few months and now you're taking Snivellus's side - "

"Perhaps he would rather not heed the advice of someone that has been rotting inside of a prison cell for the last twelve years, Black," Severus drawled. "It goes without saying that Azkaban has clearly melted what brains you still had before you were incarcerated if you think it would be appropriate for Potter to witness this - "

Sirius nearly roared as he launched himself across the room at the Head of Slytherin. Remus stepped between the two of them without hesitating, pushing Sirius backward and trying to reason with him as he shouted obscenities. Cassie was just glad Sirius wasn't trying to shoot off any hexes in his anger.

"That's enough!" she shouted. "Harry doesn't need to see any more of this!" She grabbed the third-year's hand and yanked him to the front door.

"You trust them not to kill each other?" Remus called desperately to her.

"As long as Pettigrew is dead by the time we come back, I don't care!" she shouted back.

After a few minutes of walking along the dirt road, Cassie felt much calmer. It was a crisp day, and the sky was bright blue and dotted with the occasional white cloud. She tried to focus on the tranquility of her surroundings as they went, although she couldn't help but notice how quiet Harry was.

"Why do they hate each other so much?" Harry asked finally.

"Whatever do you mean?" Her sarcasm made him crack a small smile. "They didn't get along when they went to school together." It was a dumbed-down, cheapened summary of the situation. Today of all days wasn't the time to get into the complicated topic.

"Snape hated my dad too, didn't he," Harry said. It was more of a statement than a question.

"Yes," Cassie said lightly, "but the hatred was mutual."

"What I don't understand is, Sirius said that Peter loved my dad, or at least it seemed like he did. And my mum. So why did he do what he did?"

"I don't know, Harry," she said truthfully. Her heart broke when she saw the tears forming in his emerald-green eyes. "But we're all hoping that after he's gone, you and Sirius and everyone else can get a bit of closure." Channeling Molly, she pulled him into a hug. She didn't know how, but she knew that at the moment, it was what Harry needed.

As Cassie didn't know what they would be walking into when they got back, she made Harry stay by the front door while she investigated. She slowly approached the sitting room, letting out a sigh of relief when Severus, Remus, and Sirius were all in one piece. They were speaking calmly now. Pettigrew's lifeless body lay at their feet.

"Can Harry come in?" she asked. Without saying a word, Sirius went to fetch his godson and gently led him into the room.

Remus accompanied Harry and Crookshanks back to Hogwarts later that evening. Cassie and Severus had originally planned to bring Pettigrew's body to London by themselves, but Sirius insisted on joining them.

"It's New Year's Eve," Sirius joked as they prepared to Apparate together with a dead body. "What more fun could there be than this?"

Cassie stayed on the lookout as the two wizards came up with a plan to get Pettigrew's body into the visitor's entrance. Sirius opened the phone booth while Severus floated the corpse in with his wand. With the booth stuffed full of bloated, dead Peter, Sirius reached for the phone and dialed 62442.

"Ministry of Magic," the welcome witch's voice stated, "please state the reason for your visit."

"Ah - um," Sirius started, sounding a bit giddy. "I have a delivery for Barty Crouch." He stepped out of the booth and banged the door shut, and Peter's body started to descend into the ground.

"Clever," Severus quipped dryly.

"He's not the Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement anymore, you know," Cassie said as the three of them gathered together to Disapparate.

"I know," said Sirius, "but I'm not about to miss an opportunity to mess with him. Can you imagine his reaction if the mail system brought Peter's body to his office, complete with a little bow?"

After leaving London, Sirius returned to Hogsmeade. He was renting a room from Madam Rosmerta until he found a more permanent residence, and there was no doubt in Cassie's mind that he would be spending the rest of the night drinking and chatting up women at the pub. He was in quite the jovial mood when he left them.

"Sev," Cassie said, wrapping her arms around her lover's trim waist when they were finally alone. It was a bit odd, being in their sitting room when a body had been lying there only hours before. But she was too exhausted to really care. "How are you taking all of this?"

The tall, dark wizard bent down to plant a firm kiss on her lips. One of his hands slid to the back of her neck and buried itself in her hair, the other going to arse and pushing her into his body after giving her flesh a delicious squeeze. "My love," he purred, breaking the connection at their lips so he could kiss along her jaw between words. She could feel him pressing through his trousers and into her hip, and she was quickly losing herself in his touch. What a blissful way to end their year together. "I've never been better."
