Capítulo 2: Was it a dream?
Hours had passed as Azalea lay on the gravel road. Her eyes slowly began to open as she started to look around.
"WHAT - I - what happened?" Azalea said, feeling the bump on her head. Azalea sat up and realized that she had cut her cheek on a piece of the bowl Andrea had given her. "Ow," Azalea said, feeling her cheek. She looked at her hand, and the blood from her cheek dripped off her hand. Azalea stood up, feeling a little dizzy, and then brushed the dirt off her skirt with her hands. Azalea gasped as she realized what time of day it was. "MOM - She is going to be so mad and worried!" Azalea said. Azalea finished brushing off the rest of her clothing and ran down the gravel road past the shops and other surrounding homes. "I wonder how long I was out, and why did no one notice me there?" Azalea said to herself, breathing heavily from all the running.
After arriving back at her mother Penelope's barn home, she quickly ran inside. Unbeknownst to her, someone other than her mother was waiting for her inside. "Mother!" Yelled Azalea. Blood covered the Livingroom walls and the floor as well. "Mother?" Azalea hesitated, slowly coming to understand the situation. Tears started to flood her eyes as she looked around for her mother. "Where are you? What is this" Azalea said in a shaky voice? She spotted a wrist with a purple ring and red watch on the floor behind the counter in the kitchen. More blood stained the floor of the kitchen. "OH MY GOD, MOM!" Azalea shouted. running over to the body lying on the floor. It was her mother's body; Azalea looked at the body and saw her mother's heart was missing. Before Azalea could get up to call for help, she was hit over the head. Azalea fell to the ground and struggled to come to her senses. She turned around slightly and saw a man with black boots standing above her, grinning, and then she passed out, falling back to the ground.
Azalea woke up quickly and looked around for her mother. "Mom!?" Azalea shouted. The kitchen no longer had blood, and her mother's body was no longer on the floor beside her. "MOM?!" Azalea stumbled as she got up, looking around. She walked to the living room, where there had been a lot of blood. The living room was cleaner than ever, and her mother was nowhere to be found. Not the body nor her living, breathing mother. Azalea fell to her knees in absolute agony and began bawling her eyes.
"Why .. why.... why ... why is this happening?" Azalea said in an angry voice. Azalea stood up and started pacing back and forth. "What am I going to do? What am I going to tell people???" She said to herself over and over. A knock on the door overtook the sadness in the room. Azalea ran to the door and swung it open. "Azalea?" Naomi said, looking at her. "Oh, Naomi," Azalea said as she went in for a hug. "What happened? Why are you crying?" Naomi said, confused. Azalea took Naomi's hand and walked her inside.
"My M..m...mother, she is de...dead," Azalea said, her voice quivering with every word. Naomi stepped away from Azalea while looking around. "What are you talking about? Where is she?" Naomi asked. Azalea brushed passed Naomi walked into the kitchen and pointed at the floor. Naomi walked in, standing beside Azalea, and looked down at the bottom. "There's nothing there, Azalea!" Naomi said. "She was there, I swear, I saw her!" Azalea said. "Saw who?" Penelope said, walking up to Azalea. Azalea's heart started racing as she turned her head and saw none other than her mother. Was it a dream, Azalea thought to herself?
