Capítulo 33: 5,000 Reads Special : Hello Nick
"Hi everyone! I am Nickolas! [waves right hand fastly] Hey Light! Care to give me a proper introduction?"
"Why would I give you the satisfaction?" Light glared. This person's really as cold as ice. So Joy had introduced us to you on the last special. I still can't believe that we are on 5,000 reads now! I know it's because I'm awesome and don't tell me anymore because that's a given [sulks].
" He is Nickolas, the ever handsome, the great person, the best-"
"Hey Mari why are you introducing me like that?" I asked Mari because she came out of nowhere. She isn't very healthy for my heart because she always surprises me and my heart always skips everytime I see her. Sometimes, I think I was gonna die because of her. However, if she said that:
'Nick, give me your heart and wallet'
I'd give it to her without thinking and I will even thank her for it. She's so cute!
What? Why am I like this to her you say? That's a secret you will soon know if you read further [LOL].
"Why? Don't you always introduce yourself in that manner?" Mari asked and smiled.
"Why are you like this to me?! Why must you make my heart go kaboom~ whoosssh~whack-!"
"Hey Nick can you speak English?!" Nathan screamed at me from a distance. That guy's bullied in his past school, but if you take a look at him now, he looks like a thug because he always bullies me. My fans club? Where are you? My heart is at pain now because he is bullying me! Save me~ save meeeeee~~~
" Seriously Mari how do you manage your day to day life with a lunatic?" Nathan asked Mari who was laughing.
"Oh, did I say those thoughts out loud?"
"Yes you did~ you dumbass." Nathan said. "You really are a narcissist ya know? You know what? You should hand this special chapter to me because I'm sure they would like to know me more."
"Why must you break my heart like that?" I asked him, but he just looked at me mischieviously. Despite us having fights almost every second of the day, we treat each other as brothers and when time comes that we know that we should be serious, we really get along well and we don't diss each other.
"Let's just go to our class." Light said and started walking. Joy and Mari followed but Nathan remained.
"Are you going to let Light beat you for Hope's heart bro?" I teased Nathan and punched him slightly and ran towards Mari's side. I heard his approaching footsteps and I felt his light punch on my shoulder.
"S-she might hear you. Shut up." Nathan whispered and blushed. He really is a sweet little brother to me- we are both only-children so we have desires to have siblings.
"Why Joy? Not Fallon? She really is intelligent and pretty too." I asked him, and he seemed more flustered now.
"I don't know. It's just that everytime I look at her, I feel like I am falling deeper and dee- wait- who's Fallon?" Nathan asked me and I was so dumbfounded because they are seatmates!
"Sometimes I wonder if you could really beat me on my ranking." I told him and gave him a punch in his head. "Fallon is your seatmate you dumbass! She's top 2 okay? Top 2!"
"And you are a mere top 3!" Nathan said and ran away from me. He hid at Light who gave him a scary glare- but Nathan's used to it already. We are used to it.
Here's a picture of our classroom. Our room's name is Andromeda which is indicated on the sign on the left of the door and our class is 11-3. Our school really gives a damn about the rankings of the people and if you are on the top 5, a scary expectation and stereotype will pressure you and it might cause your downfall. I'm not aiming for top 5 and that's why I don't review even when we have exams but I'm still on top 3. This is the power of the ever-awesome Nickolas everyone. Mind helping me with Mari? The only thing that my powers can't help me with is to have Mari love me ~ so I will help her love herself by reminding her how beautiful she is- and how much her past doesn't bug me- but to be honest, I want to kill the person who did that to her. He's horrible. He's a monster. He ruined her life and my life as well.
"Nickolas? Are you okay?" Mari asked me. We are in front of our chairs now and I have forgotten that I was giving you a tour in our room sorry about that T_T... But AW!
"Love of my life, you've hurt me...! " I suddenly screamed at Mari because she stepped on my left foot and for a moment, I was taken aback with my stupid impulsiveness because I shouted at her. I can't imagine myself shouting at her but I did it in the end. I was about to apoligize to her when I saw her face flush red~ [She's too cute I can't handle it] I placed the both of my hands in her red face but she just turned away from me while her hair slapped me. Guys I'm so happy I got slapped by her hair! That means that she will answer me sooner right? TT_TT
"OUCH! WHAT'S THE DEA-"
Someone just threw me a clean blackboard eraser - thank God it's clean I hate dirt - but to my horror, my biology [nay- astronomy] teacher was standing in front of the blackboard I'm screwed I don't want minus points!
"Everyone, take your seats. Nick, you better take your place- but hand me the eraser first-"
I threw him the eraser to satisfy myself with his face, but he seemed to have let me go already- he's in a good mood and what's the deal with the papers he was holding- don't tell me-
" Everyone, Keep all your gadgets, notebooks, and everything. We'll spend the entire day today to have a mock test as requested by the student council - which - in your knowledge is under my advisory. Don't worry, this one's not graded, but I recommend all of you to take this seriously because this one's the exact test of the top university in our state last year. This might determine if you can enter there or not. Pass this. "
I seriously hate exams- trust me. They cut trees so I can have test papers that I can write in- if they only know how much the nature suffers because of this damn exams- and they also gave out pencils now?
A testpaper had been handled to everyone and upon hearing the long bell, we knew we had to start. But seriously people can I just sleep now? Of course my circle wouldn't take this seriously~
WHAT?! NATHAN'S ALREADY ON SECOND PAGE? AND HE JUST FLIPPED ANOTHER PAGE- JOY'S ON THE SECOND PAGE TOO- Oh Light doesn't seem to care - But my love over there seemed to have a hard time. I hope she hangs on- and I don't have any doubt that she will. Maybe I should get serious right?
It has been my habit to look around before opening the test papers of exams and everyone seems to be having a hard time except for the people at the back and Light started to answer as well. I opened the test paper and saw questions that requires reasoning-
1. A man bought a fire insurance for his rare cigarettes. After smoking it, he urged his insurance company for compensation because his cigarettes had been burned by fire. The company refused so he filed a case against them and won. What measures should the company take?
[A/N: he read that passage in a span of 1. 2 seconds~ he speed read]
I sighed in relief. This doesn't look very hard, and I remember that they check these stuffs manually so I have a chance to perfect this. I wrote "The company could file arson" and answered all the other questions comprising the 30-paged back-to-back test paper. After ensuring that I have established clear reasons, I went back to page 1 to elaborate. On the latter parts of the paper, there were questions about Science, English, and Math. Math's so easy! If they want to challenge me, thwy should have given me more than square root and probability problems. I finished 30 minutes before time and saw Nathan finish as well. Light was also finished, so as Joy and Fallon- but Mari is still on the last page. I feel so good today. I think I am at my best eversince I saw her face blushing a wile ago! She's so kawaaiii!!!
"Who finished first? You or me?" Nathan asked me.
"We finished at the same time but I started later than you." I told him and I seemed to have stepped on a mine because he glared.
Our classroom's so silent now~ I'm sad... But hey guys have you ever been aware of the types of people during exams? If not, here it is.
TYPE 1: The copycat
Marcus in front was clearly copying everything from Sakura in front but I'm sure our teacher had already given him a mental remark- i hope he copies Sakura's name so it would be more hilarious.
TYPE 2: The Scaredy cat
Wilson in front was also looking like he was slowly drifting away from reality as he was looking at his test papers. Our teacher was in front of him and that made him even scared.
TYPE 3: The Paranoid cat
I swear I could hear Lemars's thoughts out loud - she's still on the 20th page and I know that she is freaking out. She is one of the people that don't study and get mad at herself when she gets a low score.
"My mama would kick me out!"
TYPE 4: The Confident cats
You know who that is- it's us.
TYPE 5: The Late cat
"Oh, what's happening?"
"Why are you late?!"
TYPE 6: The Transferee
What? Did someone really transfer?
"Sorry to say but your classmate, Top 10 Cammy had left our school."
But - he was my soccer buddy... Why did he leave without telling me first? He must have had a reason right?
[Joy and Light looked at each other.]
"HAHAHA! THERE'S NO WAY THAT YOU CAN BEAT MY SCORE NICK!" Nathan laughed hard as he recieved his paper. Their row got their paper first because their teacher was still posting some paper in their board. I twitched at his voice and looked at his paper. He only had one mistake out of 200 questions. My little brother really is amazing!
"Your papers were checked by all of the teachers in junior and middle high departments and this magic paper right here is the results of your exams from highest to lowest. Class dismissed. You may now leave."
Everyone hurried forward and looked at the paper- Nathan also hurried forward and after a moment, he looked at me with a defeated gaze.
" You are tied with Light in number 1.. Hope, Fallon and Me were in number 2.. Mari was number 6 because we all tied."
I felt a surge of happiness race on my chest. Seems like I can become top 1 when I try, but I'm happy with being number 3 because I'm nearer to her.
