Capítulo 320: EPISODE 100: Uncertainty!*
A muscle twitched involuntarily at the corner of her right eye, her mouth formed a rigid grimace. With arms folded tightly across her broad chest, she tapped her foot furiously and all the while stared out of the grimy gap. Circling the floor, Zinnia wondered if she had made the right decision. Accompanying her is her dearest Aster.
<Mum! Mum! Mum!>
"I know Aster, but they're Team Rocket. They are technically a criminal organization and this is my first time to trust a woman of an organization whose goal is to inflict harm for the sake of their greater good."
"<Mum?>
"Because she seemed different, that is why I trust her, for now at least. I looked to her eyes and saw the pupils of a woman who had suffered greatly from the past. As Lore Keeper, it is my duty to make sure that whoever uses Rayquaza, has the heart of good."
<Mum?! Mum! Mum!>
"What do you mean my decision was gobbledygook?!"
<Mum! Mum!>
"The trainers? Luna has a point, those trainers will only use it to stop the meteorite and then after that? They'll be using it for the sake of victory later in the Pokemon League."
"Why does this have to happen in the first place. I'm too young to be a Lore Keeper. I can't even decide if this decision of mine was correct."
<Mum...>
"Bloodline this, bloodline that! Ya-da-ya-da, I know but still, I'm the last of my people and this task- this task of making big decisions is hard. I have many duties as a Lore Keeper and not only do I have the responsibility to take care of Rayquaza but also to protect the people with-"
<Mum? Mum>
"Seriously? You still don't think parallel universes exist? Well, one of the books of my people tells about another Hoenn in a different universe. Everything that happened there, happened here as well except for one specific detail, the meteorite.
At that Hoenn, the meteorite never crashed and because of this, there was no such thing as mega evolution."
For a moment she stopped talking to Aster and sat at the edge of the gap. She stared out to the open sea, wind blowing her hair. Her eyes glimmered with awe, for it had been a long time since the last time she saw such a magnificent sight. A sight in which the land and sea are at peace, not clashing, but resting.
Aster came closer to its trainer and sat on Zinnia's lap. It joined its trainer, marveling at the beautiful scenery.
Zinnia asked, "Do you feel the wind?"
<Mum?>
"The Delta Stream, the wind that carries hopes and dreams."
<Mum!>Aster smiled and cuddled its trainer. Its smile brought a grin that stretches from ear to ear at Zinnia's face.
Meanwhile:
We returned to headquarters with Rayquaza on our grasps. We gave it to Professor Olive, who was pleased and pumped up to research more about it before our grand scheme later at six. In my mind, I was thinking deeply about the time, as if I was forgetting something.
Walking at the corridors back to the room, my mind wondered seriously as I thought about the time. "Come on, I must be forgetting something," I told myself and there I realized my promise to Logan.
I halted after realizing it. The time, it is the same time the Pokemon League will commence. This is quite troubling for I am left with a fork in a road. Which path to choose from? The League or the mission? Logan will surely be melancholy if he is to know that I broke his promise.
What is worse, upon arrival, it was Crimson himself who assigned me to aboard to rocket ship. Hearing the news, I was in a mixture of emotions, scared, since it is my first time to go to space, and excited because of the same reason why I am scared. Because of thinking deeply, my body began to sweat.
"I-I must focus on my priority," I told myself, pushing the fact I'll be neglecting my promise to Logan in exchange for Deoxys. The scheme must go on, and I made a promise to myself, and that is, no matter what, I must bring glory to my organization.
There was a part of me who was guilty, and I knew for a fact that Logan would treat me differently after this. I have no choice, Team Rocket is my only family and being fired is the worst possible nightmare that could happen to me. From two to four in the afternoon, my mind was bothered.
Five in the afternoon, and eight squadrons had been assembled in the warehouse. The squadron consists of a hundred grunts each, so in total, we would be using eight hundred grunts for this grand scheme of ours, that is our active plus inactive personnel combined.
Five in the afternoon, Leader Crimson gave his speech. He ended with, "Soon, Team Rocket will have the most advanced technologies in the world, make every move count, and do not fail. For the glory of our organization!"
"Team Rocket, recite our motto!" then, came the secretary, commanding us.
"To protect the world from devastation!
To unite all people within our nation!
To denounce the evils of truth and love!
To extend our reaches to the stars above!
Team Rocket, blast off with the speed of light, surrender now or prepare to fight!" with one synchronized voice, all of us recited the motto with enthusiasm. However, I couldn't focus on the words I was saying because of my promise to Logan. I didn't want him to think bad about me.
"Alright! Head to your vehicles! The time is now, and the future is here thanks to us!" Admin Hector commanded as everyone inside saluted. As usual, I will be going with Xeryll alongside my friends, Zeal and Charlotte. Vizion and Copper were finally assigned with a new pilot.
"Luna Evergreen, please come here for a moment." walking beside Charlotte, Admin Fortuna suddenly approached me.
"A-admin?"
"Go ahead Luna, I'll wait for you in the helicopter." said, Charlotte with a smirk as she continued her way to Xeryll.
"Is there anything wrong admin?"
"No, just a bit of reminder since this is your first time going to space. Don't panic, stay calm. Take Rayquaza's ball and once you hear the sirens press the eject button and send out Rayquaza. Do you understand? Oh, and here. This is one of our latest creations. Attach this to your uniform and once you press the red button, it will automatically gear you up in a spacesuit." instructed, Admin Fortuna as she handed me a triangle metal plate with one button in the center. She also handed me Rayquaza's Pokeball.
"Wh-what if something goes wrong?"
"Nothing will, as long as you send out Rayquaza. And remember these words, "Dragon Ascent", this will help you mega evolve Rayquaza. With Rayquaza, you can blow up the meteorite in one move and there, Deoxys will appear. Like a Pokemon battle, weaken it and throw this Rocket Ball." added, the admin as she handed me a few Rocket Balls.
"..." I was speechless, looking down at the floor as if I ate a platter of butterflies, and here they are now, flying in my stomach.
"Don't feel worried Luna. Everything will be fine. Remember the instructions and do them precisely." she gave me a hug to comfort me. She then left and went to her private helicopter alongside Crimson and Hector. They too, will be attending the mission.
My thoughts numb me, and I have the urge to puke. Logan, space, they all bother me and my confidence to do everything is smaller than the percentage of a moon turning green. In my mind, I apologized to Logan, and maybe, at all costs, I will avoid myself from meeting him again.
