It is currently six in the morning. The sun hasn't fully aroused, yet our Rotom-phones began to ring. The irritating sounds coming from the phone gave me and Charlotte a very unpredicted headache.
"Luna... Luna, wake up. Giovanni is trying to call us." Charlotte utters with a drowsy voice. She dismisses the alarm; fully aware of Giovanni's call, yet she seized to stand.
Her subtle voice wasn't able to shackle my mind. The sensation of lethargy despite the awful alarm, keeps my body still like a corpse. It seems to me that my laziness has worsened since the time I threw the Voltorb clock.
The clock strikes to quarter to seven and the boss continues to persist on calling us. I couldn't withstand the noise, so I've decided to see Giovanni's incoming message.
"Charlotte! Charlotte! Wake up." My senses came together and produced a large amount of adrenaline. This adrenaline, however, came with worry and fear. The fear of getting scolded by Giovanni.
With enough persuasion, Charlotte finally wakes up. She got shocked at first, causing her to yearn for oxygen. As time goes by, she yearns for more oxygen after seeing Giovanni's message.
Without another moment to lose, we rush to the dressing room. We try our best to wear our outfit as fast as possible but the thin fiber made our pace slower.
I can't afford to be scolded by the boss. My reputation has drastically declined after nearly killing a young man perhaps of the same age as me.
Charlotte knocks abruptly unto the doors of giovanni's abode. As usual and expected, we are greeted with the secretary's frown.
"You're late." Matori glares at the both of us. For a moment, our spirits try to run from our body due to the secretary's intense voice. What happened to the sweet voice I've heard when eavesdropping her? Is it possible that she has seen me eavesdropping her conversation with Azumarill?
The intensity finally settles. Matori finally allowed us to enter Giovanni's room yet she warned us that if we are to be late again, we'll be punished. Gladly, the punishments in this organization only includes preparing coffee for the boss and doing stuff related to that.
As expected, Xavier and his Pokemons are also there. It's quite uncommon for me to see a young man with time discipline unlike me who is a couch potato when it comes to waking up early in the morning.
"Good. The trio is finally complete, welcome to your second mission and your first major task." Giovanni greets. Unlike Matori, Giovanni has profound patience yet he may scold us if we dare to dismiss the message sent to us again.
"Late again." Xavier sighs.
"Enough with the arguments, the sooner Matori finishes her explanation the faster the three of you can leave." Giovanni interrupts. Matori then walks to the center stage; inserting a hard drive unto her laptop.
"Alright listen up! The three of you will be sent to Cinnabar Island. Your objective is to bring back all the journals found within the abandoned mansion.
Thanks to Charlotte's impressive hacking skills despite being a novice, Team Rocket was finally able to obtain more knowledge about Mewtwo.
The person you see on the screen is no other than Mr.Fuji. Alongside with the professors of the Pokemon Government Council, they have created the most powerful Pokemon with the use of Mew's ancient DNA.
Sadly, Mewtwo escaped the mansion, causing the abode to collapse. Still, the boss believes that the worn-out journals could revive. There are eight journals to collect, each bearing profound truths about Mew and Mewtwo.
I expect the trio of you to return back safely. Make Giovanni proud, and do it for the glory of Team Rocket!" Matori informs. Her laptop emitted holographic images and databases about the said island. Some say, that an active volcano lies within the depths, while others say that the volcano is just a myth.
The mission seems much safer than the first one, unless the PCG has a lab there too. Collecting them may seem easy, but finding them is just like finding a needle in a haystack.
"Are there any questions?" Giovanni surveys.
The three of us remain speechless. Everything instructed upon us is loud and clear, and this time we are certain to bring all eight journals back.
Just before leaving, Giovanni calls me to his presence. He wants to utter something to me, without the manner of Xavier and Charlotte's presence.
"Luna Evergreen. Yesterday, Sierra reported to me that you've injured a trainee. Is this correct?" Giovanni questions.
I respond with a nod while trying to swallow my saliva harshly. My body trembles before the boss, begging for mercy. Giovanni gave a silent laughter and uttered the following words:
"I am impressed. Do what you must and leave those who dare to stand in the way of the future with injured bodies. The world will finally be saved from burdens, and all of us will live in harmony." Giovanni instructs with a cunning voice. At first, I thought he was about to scold me, but it looks like he is in favor of my actions.
Knowing that the boss has just supported my actions, I smiled back and left the room with internal terror, kept away from Giovanni's plain sight. Even if Giovanni is in favor, I do not wish to think of brutal thoughts anymore.
Even up until this day, I wonder why my brain comes up with brutal ideas, and I do hope that it won't happen again. Or will it?
