Capítulo 3: Training begins
On the sidelines, Haruko shouting some instructions, "Defense!! Until the shot clock of the opponent expires!! Go!!"
Red haired Sakuragi replied. "Ooohhh!!"
Akagi saw Miyagi breathing heavily while trying to defend ball against Yasuda. "Miyagi!! You're out of breath already?"
Look at him and then replies, "Nope!!"
"Move your feet!! Keep them moving!!" Akagi shouted and the ball was on Kogure/Megane-kun. He quickly shot a midrange since he has against the smaller Kentarou but Miyagi chase it to block the shot.
"Good block!! Nice defense!!" Ayako shouted from the sideline.
"Aya-chan!! Ah..." Showing a V signed to Ayako, he was in dazed after a compliment from her while others member retreat for the offense of the red team.
"This Idiot!!" Akagi said, holding the ball in the perimeter, he acted as center and point since that idiot Miyagi.
Kogure have to keep the morale of the team since their against the red team and said. "Keep it up! Time for us to defend!! Don't let Akagi get under the basket!!"
The blue team members replied, "Yes!!"
"You're too naïve that you can stop me, Kogure!!" in just 3 steps, Gorilla dunks over three blue defender in the restricted area.
"Boom!!" all three of them can't stop Gori's attack.
"Gorilla dunks, so powerful..." Kakuta said
"We have to keep on defending until the end." Akagi reminded him.
"Ok, Akagi" Kogure replied.
He's now defending Mitsui, the former MVP who's dribbling the slowly getting his rhythm to shoot anytime if there's enough space.
"Damn... another difficult opponent to defend!!" looking at the new haircut of Mitsui.
Kogure let go his criticism and arrogance, to let him re-join the basketball team once again and get the rest of the team accept him. Now Mitsui, probably needs some time to fill the two years of not playing basketball is going to be hard.
But, he believes someday that he'll become an important piece of Shohoku.
Sakuragi is w/ Yasuda on the sidelines watching him do basic stuffs. "We didn't say that we're going to forgive him easily, Yasuda."
"He beat us up pretty bad last time! Right?" Sakuragi is still bitter about it and want Yasuda's support.
Flustered by Sakuragi's action and he said. "I already forget all about it, Sakuragi..."
"Swish!!" Looked dumb, Kogure and other member was shocked him shot three pointer. His hands are feeling good today since he practice threes this morning in the nearest court.
"It's in!!"
"It's seems I still can shoot. Show me some defense, Kogure" he said.
"Kogure-senpai?"
"Can we really defend him, Mitsui-senpai?"
"Damn... I should not have under estimated this guy!! He doesn't need sympathy of other people... What a cold-blood person!!"
Miyagi dribbles the ball, looking for an open teammate and Sakuragi shouted to him. "Pass it to me!! To me!! 2x "
Miyagi replied "Go inside a bit more! Hanamichi!!
"Sakuragi! Don't forget what I just taught you last time!! What do you need to do w/ your feet once you get the ball?" Akagi reminded him about the last lesson he taught last time.
"Land w/ both feet! Turn from side to side!! The rebounds are mine!! Sakuragi attack the low post versus 3 defenders.
Haruko arrived at the gym, w/ drinks and snacks at hand.
"Hello guys!!I brought some drinks. "she said.
"Haruko-chan" Sakuragi was surprise to see her, like an idiot he run to her and boast how genius he was.
"Did you just see me? Genius Sakuragi's great performance under the basket!!" he said.
As usual, he got scolded by Akagi and hit behind the back. "Stupid!! It didn't go in!!
Ayako grabbed the drinks and thank her. "Haruko, you're so thoughtful!"
"The tournament's about to start!! Have some Sakuragi-kun! How's everyone been doing lately? She asked. While, Hanamichi followed her like a dog and still keep on boasting about himself.
"Just watch how this genius Sakuragi's performance on the court, Haruko-chan." Sakuragi said, while Haruko attention is on Rukawa's performance.
"Baam!!" Slamming the ball into the hoop, Rukawa stared at Sakuragi and saying "Don't be lazy!! Moron!!"
Haruko is completely fall in love Rukawa's performance and her eyes turned into heart shaped. "Rukawa-kun's sure performing in high spirits today."
His biggest rival in love and court is Kaede Rukawa. "Damn you!! Rukawa...!" there's a little time left in the opening games off the preliminaries!!
