Capítulo 21: Inhuman

Lyndis grew by 30cm, her brown hair receding as fur sprouted all over her body. She grit her teeth as her bones and muscles changed shape, causing no small amount of pain. She removed her shoes before she split them, her feet growing inch-long nails that were as hard as iron. She also grew claws from her fingers, which were a bit longer. At this point, you couldn't recognize Lyndis at all, apart from the previously baggy clothes that were now bulging outward from her thick fur. She had turned into a brown, bipedal wolf. Also, Josh's brain finally started processing what was happening in front of him, and only got more pale. "M-m-m-monster!! Y-you're a monster!!" he screamed, now looking only at what was supposed to be Lyndis, completely ignoring the wolf in front of him.

"I told you to run!" growled Lyndis, her transformed face distorting her voice. In response, the white faced Josh stumbled backward, before turning and running toward the village. The lone wolf crouched to jump at Josh, before stopping as it heard Lyndis' warning growl. Her werewolf form gave her heightened senses, reaction speed, strength, and battle prowess and in return, any armour and most weapons she had would be useless, and her magical abilities were decreased. She didn't understand how she transformed, all she knew was that she could, and that she fought much better in this form. She could choose when to transform into and out of her werewolf form, and could maintain it almost indefinitely - as long as she stayed focused. However, every full moon she would be forced to transform. That form would be even stronger than normal, but she would loose some of her reasoning. Right now, she was utilizing all of her senses to try and find the best solution to the problem in front if her. She did not know how powerful the wolf was, but she had to delay it. If she ran immediately, the wolf would simply chase down Josh, who they could hear loudly stumbling his way to the village. However, she couldn't go towards the village in this form, as she would immediately be captured, tortured, and killed; for no other reason than she was different. Her mother was also a werewolf, and had constantly told her never to reveal that she was one too. She had hoped that she could trust Josh, but after seeing his reaction, she might've been wrong.

While she was still deep in thought, the wolf jumped at her, claws first, crossing the 2m gap between them in mere moments. Startled, she only had time to use her claws to block the attack, which caused her to be pushed onto her back. The wolf quickly exploited the massive opening, and bit towards her midsection. She noticed that the strength difference between them wasn't too great, but now that she was in a disadvantageous position it would be a lot harder to fight back. As she got more and more panicked about the wolf rapidly approaching her, her instincts kicked in. She kicked off the ground, moving a bit further away from the wolf. She knew that her beastial instincts could fight much better than she could, so she tried to maintain a calm mind. However, the wolf wasnt about to give her time to rest as it launched itself at her once again. This time, she moved towards the side of her attacker, before scratching the wolf in the neck. As it was still in the air, it could not avoid the blow, and started bleeding from the wound. When the wolf landed, it lifted its front right paw and span on its front left paw to attack Lyndis, but when it turned it could not see her. Lyndis jumped up as soon as the wolf landed, trying to get on its back. When she landed on top of the wolf, it immediately leaped backwards before Lyndis could find her balance. She landed awkwardly in front of the wolf, facing away from it. As she tried to get up, the wolf bit her left shoulder, causing her to cry out in pain, almost losing her transformation. She could no longer use her left arm, but used the fact that the wolf's head was so close to scratch it again with her right hand. She managed to blind it completely just before it let go of her shoulder. With the multiple heavy wounds it had, it would probably die soon even without fighting anymore, but Lyndis was enraged. She ran towards the right side of the wolf and cut its neck again and again, until it was finally dead. She knew that if she lost focus now, she would revert to her human form and possibly faint from blood loss, which would only lead to her death, so she held on and ran towards Josh, leaving the wolf's corpse behind.
