Dragging his feet, the red robbed stranger stumbled in front of me, half a bit drunk and half a bit angry. He spat a mouth full of curse words and threw a gourd towards me.
Luckily his vision was impaired or else I would have long been hit on the head. I wasn't sure how he got so drunk as a moping psycho, but earlier, before he could even settle his deal with me, he was called to some banquet which was currently being held in some northern terrain in his province and had came back drunk.
Being very scared out of my wit, I had stayed silent and tagged along with the two assistants cum maids, who were yet to wear something reasonable, even for someone like me from Earth, it was a bit baffling. I could even see their… ahem, so… moving on, my trembling only increased when I saw the number of beasts hanging around in the lounge of the palace. They were huge, bulky and smelly beasts- beastmen, who were roaming in every corner, eyeing me as I was taken to the chambers in the underground.
Please sit here and rest, our master says you are not to be disturbed." The two girls said in unison, their lips moving at the same time very eerily.
But although that is what they told me, I was reluctant to believe them, it was impossible for me to not get disturbed again, And that reluctance proved to be true since, hours later, the red robbed staggering man flung the door ajar with his boot kick, rushing in with red eyes, and foul breath.
The chamber was dark, and empty, inlaid with stones and mortar, very similar to the entire makeup of the palace which had very few decorative ornamentations. It was as if they had lost their will to live and only desired a roof overhead to shelter them from rain and the walls around them to give a sense of space.
I shifted on the makeshift bed as Yu Ken threw around his weight and talked rubbish.
My heart was beating like crazy, but I didn't dare to ask him where Xi Ken was, not that he would tell me. His sober personality was hard to deal with, so the drunk one was definitely going to be even harder.
"…that scoundrel, always tittering with the monk. Peh! Who do they think they are? The demons would rise and overthrow them with just a snap of my finger…" Yu Ken continued on with his nonsense, because I did not believe he could really defeat Xi ken and He Ken, I could easily tell he was talking about them.
Although, being bitter wouldn't make him glorious, this place was in the end his domain, what he decided to do with his person was up to him. Well even being captured I did not believe that I was being… tortured. So if listening to him and lying on hard cold bed was my fate, I wasn't really afraid of him. He was somewhat less 'beastly' and 'scary' than the others.
"What are staring at?" Yu Ken spoke with his spittle flowing everywhere, he was actually looking very vengeful, which only made his face look oddly funny.
"I am wondering why I am here?" I asked this, even though I knew I was taken as a bargaining chip, turning things to Yu Ken's favour. Or so was what I thought.
Was Xi Ken worried about me? I did wonder along, however I became worried when I directed myself to think that way, because… it had been hours and he didn't come to find me here. Maybe that Du View or something town was in imminent danger, and handling things there was of more importance.
"You misunderstand; i'm only trying to understand why you are so sad."
Yu Ken frowned upon meeting my wide innocent eyes, I was actually not really lying, I wanted to know what it was that made this demonic god so bitter.
"Peh! You know nothing, don't try to worm your way in!" he shouted, flinging his hands in all directions like a silly child throwing a tantrum.
I shifted back, almost falling on the bed, since the demon god seemed to be very angered now. Did I ask something insensitive? "Forgive me if I was too intrusive."
Yu Ken looked at me for a while, uncertain about something, that I couldn't pick, "You… if you want to have your limbs intact by the end of the d-day… *hic* I want you to…" he stumbled around some more, "quench my… thirst."
I blanked a bit… "Where do you keep water around here?"
He blinked, and then burst into crazy giggles, "…that brother of mine finally found a lamb, ha ha ha ha, it is crazy how he fell for such a retard!"
I tried not to cover my nose instinctively when the foul stench of alcohol hit my nose. I couldn't believe this 3rd most powerful man was actually so erosive. Even his handmaids looked more refine than him.
It was such a pity, to give this man beautiful hair and good looks, he was a wastrel.
I wasn't stupid enough to not understand what he meant by his previous statement, but however suggestive he maybe, I wasn't going to step into his traps. So fumbling around and being awkward was out of question. "Want me to give you a head message?"
If asking questions irritated him, and Xi Ken was still not around, trying to break through the palace like a crazy person would be suicide. I never knew how the protagonists of all those fictional works were so daring, I did rather sit here and be the maid then try evoking the wrath of these powerful beings. For now my plan was to delay the harm coming for me, and make mellow with the powerful ones.
"You aren't bad," Yu Ken nodded in approval, "But you're still not any match for Xi Kenos."
My eyes twitched, how come he was stuck on comparing me to that male God? Did he want me to drown in the sea of depression? (T_T)
I watched him as he landed on my bed with his boot placed on my neatly folded white sheet, dirtying it with mud and something.
Grimacing in horror, I steeled my nerves and gulped, shifting closer to sit down and work on his head- I mean massage his head.. yeah. He he
I sighed, wondering if I was turning crazy as well… sigh.
But instead of getting hold of his head, his shifting made me hesitate, since his eyes were now looking at me, a bit sharp, even for a drunk. Then he cleared his throat, and asked me, "What will you do if you were betrayed by Xi Ken?"
