Capítulo 20: EPISODE 20: Time to Register!

"Potions, Super Potions, and Hyper potions? Check! Hp Up, Zinc, and Carbos? Check! Pokeballs? check! Pokedex? Check! And of course, how can you travel without a credit card? Check!" Zhery dictated, as she did a last check on the things she needed during her journey with us.

Knock Knock Knock...

"Come in!" Zhery approved.

"Hey Zhery, are your things prepared for your journey?" her mother, Ms. Beatrice, the headmaster of the orphanage also did a last check on Zhery and her bag.

"Oh hi mom! Yup, my things are all ready! Potions, Vitamins, Pokedex, and Credit card? All check!" Zhery bubbled.

"You seem to be happy Zhery," the mother observed.

"Well, why wouldn't I be? It's my first time to go on an adventure! My first step on becoming a Pokemon doctor!" Zhery burst with excitement as stars appeared on her eyes.

"Well then, good luck on your journey Zhery..."

"Hey mom, why are you crying?" Zhery queried as she walked close to her mother.

"I'm going to miss you dear! Don't forget to call me once you arrive at the first city." the mother bewailed as her tears fell off her eyes.

"Don't worry mother, I promise to call you all the time!"

"But every time you say don't worry is when I get worried the most!" the mother teased.

Meanwhile at my bedroom, I was staring at my mother's Pokedex.

"My mom was an official Pokemon trainer." I sobbed slightly.

"I will find you mom and dad... I will bring you back!" I promised to myself and to my parents.

"Riolu, Zorua? Are you ready to go?"

"Were all set!" both of them replied.

Glade knocked on my door and asked how everything's going.

"I'm ok Glade!" I replied.

"Don't worry! We'll find our parents!" Glade reassured.

"And as I travel, I will achieve my dream... My dream to become a Pokemon Master! My dream to become like my mom!" I added with determination.

"Hey you two! I'm all ready!" Zhery bubbled in front of my room.

"Were just having a little chat that's all" Glade bellowed.

"I'm ready to go!" I croaked.

The three of us were in the lobby of the orphanage. We surrendered our room keys to Ms. Natallie.

"I'm surely going to miss this place!" I slurred as I returned my room key.

"Room number 496..." I said to my mind so that I could remember everything that this orphanage, Citrus home for the lost did for me.

Ms. Cherry, Mr. Copper, Ms. Natallie, and Ms. Beatrice... The four staff who helped me and inspired me here in this orphanage. They walked towards the three of us before we left.

"Good luck on your journey the three of you!" Ms. Cherry greeted.

"Remember to always bond with your Pokemon! It's important and... essential!" Mr. Copper reminded.

"Always to remember every single moment you have with your Pokemon, for those moments become your memories, and those memories are irreplaceable." Ms. Natallie quoted.

"Remember, no matter what you do, or where you are, Pokemons should be treated fairly as we treat our fellow humans fairly. Never give up on your dream! No matter what the circumstances are!" Ms. Beatrice quoted.

The three of us sobbed, we had awsome memories with the four staffs, and they helped me, Glade, and Zhery grow stronger and closer with our Pokemon. They inspired each of us! They helped each of us!

"Thank you, thank you for everything Ms. Beatrice, Ms. Natallie, Ms. Cherry, and Mr. Copper." I bawled.

"We won't forget the memories we had in this orphanage, in fact we will ch... cherish it..." Glade cried as he remembered what these four staff did for him and his friends.

"Thank you mother, thank you, everyone, for teaching and inspiring each of us," Zhery added and bawled.

They followed us until we reached the gate of the orphanage. I still remember the day I first saw the orphanage.

I looked back one more time at the staff and at the orphanage as I waved goodbye to them before we left.

"Bye! We'll miss you!" the three of us shouted.

"Goodluck on your journey, best wishes to all of you!" The staff shouted.

But the headmaster called my name for the last time.

"Kalem!"

"Yes headmaster?"

"Once you return, I'll challenge you to a battle!"

"Challenge accepted Ms. Beatrice!" this was the last word I said to them as the three of us left the orphanage. Just like all trainers, we took the path leading to route 1. The mark of the beginning of a grand journey ahead.

It was 9:20 in the morning, when the three of us leaped as we passed the grand arc of Citrus town.

"Our first step in finding our parents, and achieving our dreams!" Glade shouted.

We marveled at the wild Pokemons around us. Pokemons of all sorts of shapes, sizes and types.

A few hours later while we were traveling, we thought to have a nice little break to eat lunch. But then, Zhery asked me a question.

"So Kalem, have you registered your name on your Pokedex?" Zhery queried.

"Register? I didn't know you had to register your name on the Pokedex."

"Seriously? You left without registering your name on your mom's Pokedex?" Glade sighed.

"Sorry! I didn't know I had to register!" I perplexed.

"Come on, lets rest by the tree over there," Glade pointed.

"Good idea! We can also help Kalem register his name in the Pokedex." Zhery added.

We placed a small picnic mat on the soft ticklish mat. The headmaster was so kind as to pack us food for our first week.

Then, I prepared the Pokèbowls for the Pokemon to eat in, while Glade and Zhery prepared the food on the mat. "Time to eat!" Zhery shouted. Just from the smell of the delicious curry you could really say that the headmaster was a master chef!

"Its... Its... So delicious!" Glade shouted. His eyes were in awe with the food as he munched every piece in his mouth. He savored every bite. It was like he was in heaven or somethin'

"See! Isn't my mother's cooking the best?" Zhery complimented her mother's food.

"Seconds please!" Me and Glade begged for more.

"Calm down, this food must last for one week! If you guys won't stop acting like Munchlaxes and Snorlaxes, we'll starve to death! Remember, the nearest Pokèmart from here is in Covelry town!" Zhery warned.

"Fine, I guess we have to wait for dinner then!" I concurred.

Me and Glade were so jealous at our Pokemon eating delicious curry.

"Hey you two! Why won't you help me clean up your dishes instead of looking at the food of your Pokemons!" Zhery badgered.

"Alright... We'll help out! Come on Kalem, let's help Zhery!" Glade agreed.

When lunch finally finished and everything was packed up and ready to go! I got my Pokedex from my bag. I figured out that it was time to register my name on the Pokedex.

"In order to compete at the Pokemon league, each trainer must show their Pokedex as proof that they are official trainers!" Zhery explained.

"Without Pokedexes you can't compete in the Pokemon League even though if you have eight gym badges!" Glade added.

"So Kalem, what version is your mother's Pokedex?" Glade queried.

"Huh? Where can I find the version?" I puzzled towards Glade and Zhery.

"At the back of your Pokedex, at the very bottom, you'll see an acronym followed by three digits," Zhery explained.

"Oh! There it is! I found the Pokedex version!" I bubbled.

"It says HPP 6.5.2, but what does HPP mean?" I queried.

"Oh, we have the same type of Pokedex! HPP! but our kernel digits our different, when you say HPP it means (Holographic Projectile Pokedex) meaning, it can show a 3d model of the Pokemon and can be projected out like a hologram!" Zhery dictated.

"In my case, my Pokedex is AEP, which means Automated Encyclopedia Pokedex, these types of Pokedexes can be found in the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Galar. HPP's are a new model or type of Pokedex exclusive to this region, its much more advanced than the Rotom-Dex and the Rotom-phone!" Glade added.

"About the kernel digit, what does that mean?" I queried.

"The Kernel digit like yours which is 6.5.2 shows the day the Pokedex was released. The higher the first and the last number, the more advanced. 6 and 5 means, June 5 while 2 shows the year it was released. So to conclude things up, your Holographic Projectile Pokedex was released on June 5 2002, however, my Pokedex was released on March 9 2005!" Zhery explained.

"Oh... So that's what it means..." I concurred.

"To open your Pokedex, all you have to do is to long tap on the Pokeball sign on the upper left!" Glade added.

I did what they Glade told me, I long pressed the Pokeball button found on the upper left, then the company name which released the Pokedex was projected like a Hologram. CLC was the name of the company, it looked very familiar.

After loading for a while, the Pokedex started to show three options. Sign Up, Login, or add another account.

"Hey Zhery, Glade! What button should I press here? It says Sign up, Log in, or add another account."

"Since it's your mother's Pokedex, just press the 'add another account' button. then answer the following questions" Glade instructed.

I followed their instructions add pressed the add account button. The Pokedex started to ask some questions.

"Good day trainer! What would you like to call me?" The Pokedex asked. It had the voice of a woman since it belongs to my mother.

"Hmmm, what should we name the Pokedex?" I asked my two Pokemons.

"Anything would do!" Riolu and Zorua bubbled and smiled.

"If that's the case then, I'll name the Pokedex Irys!" I thought of the name.

"Whoah! What a unique name to call a Pokedex!" Zhery complemented.

"Thanks trainer, from now on... I'm Irys. What should I call you?" The Pokedex asked.

"Umm... Call me Kalem!" I answered.

"Alright then... Kalem! Is there anybody I should know aside from you?" The Pokedex asked.

"Yup! This is Zhery, and this is Glade!" I pointed as both of my friends waved back.

"Nice to meet you... Zhery and Glade!" The Pokedex spoke with a woman robot kind of accent.

"Do you currently have any Pokemon with you?" The Pokedex asked.

I pointed Riolu and Zorua, both of them said hi to Irys the Pokedex!

"Scanning... Scanning... Scanning Complete! Congratulations Kalem! I am now your Pokedex, you don't need to carry me in your bag because I can float just like a Rotom dex!" Irys explained.

"So what's the difference between you and a Rotom-dex?" I asked the Pokedex.

" A Rotom dex, is powered by a Rotom, while I am powered with Electromagnetic energy. Rotom Dex cannot show world maps, but me Irys can!" Irys boasted.

"Oh right, that reminds me, why doesn't your Pokedex talk?" I asked Zhery.

"I placed my Pokedex on Offline mode, so I can only scan Pokemon like a regular Pokedex!" Zhery answered.

"Woah that's amazing!" I said in awe to Irys my HP Pokedex or Holographic Projectile Pokedex!

"Welcome to the family Irys the Pokedex!" I introduced.

"Thank you so much kalem! I'm glad to be part of your family." Irys thanked with her woman-robot accent.

So from that day on, Irys the Pokedex joined me and my Pokemon team! As the journey continues!
