As it was night time the roads were clear, she reached her destination earlier than usual in nearly 45 minutes. She rushed inside the mansion just to find the whole place drenched with blood, covered with the foul metallic smell of blood. That scene made her panic. Those bodies were unknown; she didn't know a single person but most shocking thing was they all were dressed as assassins. Looking at them made her heart sink to the bottom, she rushed upstairs to her grandfather's room. He was sitting there sipping tea, a body was lying near the door as if the person was shot dead as soon as he entered. She ran in her grandfather's embrace, trembling. Grandfather Jing forgot to call and stop her from coming. She was relieved to find that he was fine without a single scratch. She didn't shed tears but she was scared. Grandfather Jing consoled her for good few minutes before she calmed down. Later he began explaining what happened in detail.

An hour before,

After the butler called her, he came to inform the master that she was on her way. Elder Jing nodded and looked back at the book in his hand. He suddenly received an anonymous call.

"Hello, Jing Qiao speaking. Who's this?" Elder Jing asked.

"You don't need to know who I'm. Just listen carefully. He is sending his first wave to annihilate you. Send everyone out of the mansion except the guards on gate, my ten men are on the way to your place, they'll aid you. But, be ready, stay cautious of your surroundings. They aren't fully fledged because they don't expect you to have any protection right now. My men will leave without a trace after killing them, just take care of the bodies. And yes, don't you dare leave your room. They'll reach there after 20 minutes, make necessary arrangements." The person on the other side of the phone hung up the call after he finished talking.

Elder Jing closed his eyes for a few seconds, before opening them with a murderous intent. He knew this battle was inevitable. He called his caretaker, Elder Liu, and informed him about everything. Elder Liu was not only the head butler of the house and his caretaker but also, a retired special force officer, he worked alongside Elder Jing for good few years as his left hand man.

Elder Liu opened the windows of the living room before he took everyone towards the basement of the mansion. Soon few people came in through windows of the living room and hid themselves in various hidden locations as if predators waiting for their preys to arrive.

Right after 20 minutes a group of people entered from the front door, they were carrying a Remington Model 700 gun each. They were nearly 25 to 30 people in total. As soon as the last person entered and closed the main door behind his back, bullets rained over them. It was beyond their expectations so they weren't prepared, besides that, there wasn't a single person in vicinity. They hid themselves behind the various furniture and pillars scattered around the room. They began to fire at the sources from where the bullets were emerging, but before they could shoot at one source, a bullet from other would find her way into the center of the head. Assassins were helpless, they couldn't even see their target to kill him nor could they run away. All the battle lasted for about ten minutes. Each and every assassin was shot dead by the first group.

The leader called someone and said, "Sir, mission accomplished. Not a single casualty."

It was when he heard a gunshot from the room and rushed upstairs. He was appointed to protect this old man, if a single hair was damaged he would be dead, so he was scared when he heard that gunshot. But he was greeted by a dead body at the entrance of room. He looked at the old man and the wound at the exact center of the assassin's head.

Elder Jing replied him in a calm tone, "He might have entered from some window on my floor, it's fine. You guys did well. Now leave."

He nodded before turning and closing the door behind his back. He suddenly thought to himself about when his head told him that the person they were supposed to protect was an extremely weak person and never held weapons in years. But, the wound showed that this person was trained well and his aim was precise. He shrugged his shoulders telling himself, 'I did what I was asked to. This is none my business.' and walked downstairs towards his men and left amidst the night.

Present time,

Sia was shocked to hear everything that happened in a mere hour, but she looked calm, terrifyingly calm. She stood up after confirming that her grandfather was perfectly fine. She called the basement line, "Elder Liu, please come to Grandpa's room. Also, tell the cleaners to clear the mess in the mansion." It was after hearing her voice that Elder Liu also remembered about her.

Both the elders couldn't even think what would have happened if she came a little early, when the battle was ongoing.

Grandfather Jing wanted to talk heart to heart with her regarding her decision of marriage. But never in his dreams, would he have thought that she would see this bloody bath at her arrival. She was no longer in mood to talk about anything.

As soon as Elder Liu came to Elder Jing's room he saw Sia tucking him to bed. She switched off the bedside lamp and moved out of the room turning off all lights and closing the door. Elder Liu followed her outside, it was then she spoke up, "Elder Liu I'm going in my room, all this mess should be cleared within half an hour, make sure not a single stain is left. Also, clean Grandpa's room without disturbing his sleep." She walked towards her own room in that mansion after saying her part.

Just after Sia left his room, Elder Jing opened his eyes and sat up on his bed and called Elder Mo.

"Mo Lutian, he's released. Also, I think he's in this country." Elder Jing said.

"How is it possible!! I checked it, he should remain there for at least a year more. Wait I'll confirm it." Elder Mo sounded a little panicked.

"No, I told you those movements were caused by him. It was him, now I'm sure. Today, he sent assassins to kill me. I'm thankful to god, I'm alive." Said Elder Jing.

"Are you planning to reveal it to Sia now?? Jing Qiao, that girl needs to know. She needs to prepare for the future." Said Elder Mo.

"She saw what happened today. I'm sure she has questions but she won't ask them at least until I'm ready to tell. I know this child, she's too considerate, she won't force me into answering her even though she's tortured by those questions." Elder Jing sighed.

"What did you say?? What do you mean by 'She saw'? Doesn't she live in Crystal Valley?"

Elder Jing patiently explained him everything including Sia's reaction on the whole matter. Her reaction shocked Elder Jing, she was too much calm. It looked like the calm before storm.

"Poor girl, I'll ask my grandson to talk to her and look into this matter. You should also rest." Said Elder Mo before hanging up. He also called few other numbers.

Elder Jing closed his eyes slowly and fell asleep.
