Capítulo 82: Karma
Paul opened his eyes, as he stood up his bones popped and cracked, it was still morning as he hadn't been logged in for long, glancing out the window he decided to go for a drive, a virtual environment was one thing, but the real thing was always better.
Holly was in her usual place, washed, shined, and ready, apparently she had a self cleaning function, Paul got in and when asked where he wanted to go he simply said 'somewhere pretty' and so they left.
It didn't take long to find what he was looking for, parked on the top of a cliff, the sea sparkling below, a field of flowers behind, and a blue sky with a few white fluffy clouds, getting out he could smell the mixture of the flowers scent and the salty sea air, a gentle wind made the flowers sway, yes the world inside Another World could reproduce this perfectly, but knowing it was just a game diminished it slightly, the real thing just felt more alive.
He found a comfortable rock that he could sit on while he researched, the Karma system seemed to be just a shop for normal players, it contained costumes, pets, that kind of thing, also a new currency 'Karma crystals' could be purchased with karma, apparently these crystals could be used to increase standing with NPC's, including the rulers of each city, this would have the effect of lowering prices in NPC shops as well as other effects that were for players to discover, he did notice that the sub-slot item was not listed, it seems that it is exclusive to him.
He logged in using his game account and as he suspected a new section appeared marked 'legend store', there was the sub-slot as well as other things called 'inspiration' one for each profession except cooking, there was no description and they were grey so he couldn't purchase them even if he had the karma, but it seems they would be very important, he figured the reason they were grey is he had to get the next sub-slot and max out the last remaining one, he sighed shaking his head, looks like this would take a while.
He then took a look at servants, he found a bunch of stuff he already knew, and something he didn't, apparently if he went hunting with his servants, he could keep all the items and send them back empty handed, apparently this had been added recently and he was so glad, this would make things a lot easier, he would have to check that he could remain in his guise as they hunted but even if he couldn't he could hunt in areas where he wouldn't be spotted.
After doing his research Paul took some food and cold drinks out of Holly's boot and set himself a small picnic, Holly kept a small amount of non perishable foods in the boot for just such an occasion, Fizzy drinks, chocolate, ect. it wasn't healthy food but it was tasty, she added the resupply to her next service.
After he was done eating and enjoying the 'real' scenery Paul and Holly headed back to the house, the air conditioning kept it nice and cool inside the car as Paul looked out the window, it was about 1 mile from the house when Holly suddenly stopped,
"Threat detected, shifting to secure form,"
Imminently the windows tinted, the car shrunk down surrounding Paul as the outside shifted, the nice body of the car changed into what can only be described as a small tank, the extra metal sheets were lined up to provide layers while the outside layer revealed itself to be an inch thick armor, Paul was shocked,
"What the hell?! since when could you change like this?!" he asked,
"My model is usually purchased by CEO's, Prime Ministers, presidents, Billionaires, and other people of such importance and means, Top Level Security comes as standard, there is a person at the house, they have been there several times, and now they are armed, my body scan has revealed 1 light pistol, i am currently requesting police intervention and attempting to identify the person from the pictures i took the other times he appeared,"
"You can do all that? wow looks like i made the right choice of car, thanks Holly,"
"you are welcome."
