Again, a bit shorter but it is the starting chapter of this arc. Let's get to it. I'll talk more at the end.
Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail or Bleach. Shame, it would be great if I did
Protector Of The Fairies
Gather, Children Of Light
"I can hear it. The sound of the breaking of the light."
"Don't be so hasty Cobra," muttered a long nosed man. "Well being hasty ain't so bad but even I have to be patient."
Cobra flicked some of his red hair out of his face as he turned, one hand still resting on his large purple snake, Cubellios. "You know what rests here Racer. The Magic hidden in the depths of the wood."
A long orange haired man stood forward to examine the sight below them of the forest, his size towering over the other people around him. None of them seemed afraid of his strange geometrical like face. One hand reached up towards the beads around his neck while another clutched the book in his hand closely to his chest.
"A Magic that will bring about darkness and break all light, yes!"
"Nirvana… This is it isn't it Hoteye?" The speaker stepped past the others to join Hoteye, the wings of her outfit fluttering as she walked, given her the appearance of an angel when seen with the rest of her outfit and appearance.
"Indeed Angel. It is glorious, yes! What do you think Midnight?"
Hoteye turned towards a black haired individual, asleep in a sitting position on a floating carpet. There was no response.
A staff with a skull on it smashed into the ground, catching the attention of all the awake Mages present. "The Legendary Magic will soon be ours."
Racer scoffed as he turned to the silver haired man. Strange lines scattered his body, intersecting as in strange patterns. "Is this Nirvana Magic really all it's cracked up to be, Brain?"
Brain smiled and pointed his staff towards the forest. In the centre of the forest, all six Mages could see a dark cloud over the forest's centre, no light able to penetrate through the cloud. "Behold. The land has already begun to die. This has only happened because Nirvana is nearby. Decide with that information."
Cobra looked towards the horizon behind them. "I can hear them. They are coming."
"Let them," said Angel with a smirk. "They will fall before our divine path."
Brain glanced at Cobra with a calculating glare. "Do you recognise any of them?"
Cobra closed his eyes and focused. He could hear everything. The breathing of those around him and nearby, the sound of footsteps from the Mages of the light slowly approaching, even their very thoughts.
This had been his mission. To get close enough to each Light Guild that could attack them today and identify the thoughts and patterns of the Mages involved. He recognised the Trimens from the Blue Pegasus guild along with their… eccentric leader. That man's thoughts were disturbing enough that he recognised them instantly.
Who else was there? There seemed to be a lot of scared and worried thoughts from one person, but he couldn't recognise them. It could have been someone he had missed. There were some others with her but he left them for now, his main plan to identify where they all were coming from and see if he could tell who they were. From another direction, he could sense Mages he recognised from the Lamia Scale guild. One thought a lot about love, another having to restrain his mind from subconsciously stripping. He didn't recognise the first's identity but the second was definitely Lyon Vastia, one of the two disciples of Ul, the woman who slew one of Zeref's Demons.
And who was that with them? Those thoughts were so respectful, even when hidden in the sanctuary of the mind. Most people acted one way while their thoughts resembled another. But these thoughts weren't doing that. He knew who this was. "Jura Neekis."
Brain's eyes widened. "A Wizard Saint. They really want to stop us."
"They shall fail, yes! Money is more powerful than will, yes!"
"Do not underestimate this man. He is truly powerful. He could even match me evenly."
The others glanced at Brain in surprise, even Midnight moved slightly as if from shock. Brain paid it no heed though. "Anyone else worth mentioning?"
Cobra refocused, taking in the last of the Mages approaching the others. "They have that Dragon Slayer of Fairy Tail with them."
"Insignificant. Who else?"
"They have Erza Scarlet too."
"Erza Scarlet?" Brain scratched his chin in thought. "She may not be as strong as Jura but she still is powerful. She must be eliminated quickly."
"Wait… There's some others close behind the Fairy Tail group. I don't recognise them."
Brain looked at Cobra in annoyance. "I thought I told you to learn the minds of all Fairy Tail members."
"I did," argued Cobra. "They must have joined recently. One of them is hard to figure out while the other seems to be the mind of a kid. And the last one…"
Cobra frowned, focusing his senses further. This mind was stranger than the other two, and those two had been stranger than normal minds. A lot of thoughts were bouncing around, but none of them seemed to go in any particular order. One second it was one line of thought, the next it was another, and then it was suddenly back to the original. The thoughts even interrupted one another. And what was that-
"Hey there."
Cobra flinched, releasing his grip on the thoughts but not fast enough to hear a sinister chuckling. What was that?
"Cobra?"
Cobra shook himself out of it and turned to Brain. "The last one was strange. The other two with him had similar thought processes in terms of how they worked but his seemed… weirder. It was like there was something sinister in his mind, and it sensed me too."
Brain looked at Cobra in disbelieve. "I find that hard to believe. Unless…"
Hoteye glanced towards their leader. "You know who the person was, yes?"
Brain nodded. "It is possible. I thought some of that Magical Power I had been sensing had been Nirvana, but it may not have all been coming from Nirvana after all. It seems Fairy Tail is bringing one of their old members back. The chosen instrument of the Ex-Chairman's will."
"You mean that Ichigo person," said Angel. "I remember you saying about a nuisance a few years back among the Dark Guilds under us. Something about them being attacked at times."
"I learned a lot of things about this Mage. He won't be easy to deal with. You heard of the fight recently at Fairy Tail? Cobra should have filled you all in. We knew that Ichigo was back at that guild but I had hoped he would have stayed out of this. It is too late now though."
Brain swiped his staff to the side and held out his other hand. "Are we not so close though? If this alliance of guilds thinks he will help change the tide, they will be surely mistaken. He shall be dealt with, and I shall ensure that their greatest champion of light falls into darkness. It is too late for them to stop us now. When the light goes out, there will be nothing left but the dark."
Protector Of The Fairies
Ichigo rested his head against the outside wall, lost in thought as he waited for the others to arrive. The main group from Fairy Tail had already gone in, and Shinji and Toushirou had gone in after them when they had all arrived too. And from the sounds inside, it sounded like the Blue Pegasus guild was there to greet them.
He hadn't expected to have been involved on this mission. He had just been relaxing in the guild, catching up a bit with Levy when the people around them had started discussing the Balam Alliance.
The Balam Alliance, if it could really be called that, was nothing more than a hierarchy. There were a lot of Dark Guilds involved in it but they were simply subjects to the top three. Oración Seis, Grimoire Heart, and Tartarus. Well there was the Dark Guild known as Raven Tail but that was the only one strong enough to be able to act independently of the top three. Every other Dark Guild served one of the major three.
Out of those three, Tartarus wasn't very well known. No one knew where they were, who was a part of them and what strength there were at. Not even the Dark Guilds serving them knew that kind of information. Yet they were definitely strong enough to be considered as one of the greatest threats out there.
Grimoire Heart was definitely the one currently regarded as the strongest, yet again no one could find them. They would pop up once and a while, cause some panic and destruction, and then vanish once more. The Council might have known what they did but they didn't share those details with the public and they had good reason to do so.
Oración Seis was the one that was unique amongst the three. It wasn't a big guild, and no one had even known what they were after. The guild even had only six members, which spoke of the required strength of each of them and the teamwork they had to have in order to work that well together and be so strong.
But when the Master walked in and stated they were going to destroy Oración Seis, that had been a massive shock.
At first, everyone must have thought he was being stupid. But, as the Master explained it all, it became clearer. It had seemed a horrible idea to simple provoke the guild alone, especially when it would open them up for retaliation. But an alliance with other guilds would stop the other members of the Balam Alliance from getting revenge. It wasn't like they cared about each other anyway as their alliance was more of a non-aggressive pact. None of them would be bothered to fight four guilds at once just to avenge someone they didn't care for.
Fairy Tail, Blue Pegasus, Lamia Scale, and Cait Shelter. Four guilds, each sending members to fight together against this threat. From a glance inside, it looked like they had the so called Trimens from Blue Pegasus. They must have formed sometime over the three years so it was helpful that Levy had gotten him up to date on what had happened over the years.
Going by what she had told him that meant that there should be four members of Blue Pegasus there, and a quick glance inside had helped put their names to faces. Hibiki was the first he managed to spot, leading the other Trimens in their pursuit of the girls there. He was known to be a user of a Magic known as Archive, a rare Magic for someone to get involved with. It had few combat capabilities at all and was more the type of Magic for a researcher or scholar.
It was also rare to find anyone who could use it effectively as it was closely guarded by the Magic Council and anyone who could use it was watched closely. Archive gave you access to a giant source of Magical Databases but the problem was that everyone used the same databases. It was why the Magic Council had worked so hard to develop those machines Mayuri had been using. It was something that wasn't connected to Archive.
He did wonder how good this Hibiki person was with his Magic because, it he was good enough, then he could find out anything he wanted. Security protocols existed but they could be bypassed if the user was good enough.
After that brownish haired Trimen was Ren, a dark skinned individual with black hair. He was meant to be a user of Air Magic, a deadly type of elemental Magic when used correctly. Take away the oxygen people breathe from around them and they will slowly fall without you even needing to do anything to stop them.
Finally you have the last of the Trimens, a blonde haired teen called Eve. From what Levy had told him, he was very new to Blue Pegasus, his old job being a trainee in an attempt to join the Rune Knights. When the Magic Council had dissolved, it seemed he had ended up at Blue Pegasus and the other Trimens had taken him under their wing.
Of course the story sounded a lot sadder when Levy told it but that may have been from embellishing the story when it had been printed. Journalists always liked to make things have a bigger impact than they needed to have. The boy's Magic was meant to be Snow Magic, and he had heard rumours from Levy that he could turn everything around him into the purest white.
The leader of this group though was an S Class Mage, known as Ichiya something. That man's name was simply too strange for him to remember. He was glad the only similarities between him and that man was their hair colour because anymore would creep him out. He could still hear Erza screaming at Ichiya to get away while the man in question rambled on about parfum, which he assumed meant perfume or something.
At least the man was powerful. While a lot of Ichiya's Perfume Magic seemed supportive, it was very powerful supportive Magic. And it was meant to be deadly too. How do you block something you can't hit? He supposed a method similar to how he kept Mayuri's poison away might work but that method was only useful when you had the Magical Power to emit easily. And even that method would be useless if caught before it was able to be released. It wasn't like he could stop breathing after all.
From Fairy Tail, at least he was roughly familiar with most of the ones there. He remembered Natsu, and it seemed the boy had grown a lot over the time he was away. He definitely seemed stronger. And of course Happy was with him. Where one went, the other followed.
Erza took was different. She actually seemed more open with people, scolding them a bit less than he remembered her doing. And Gray… well he hadn't changed much. He still had no control over his stripping habit.
Lucy was new though. She seemed to use Celestial Spirit Magic, and Toushirou was luckily able to fill him in a bit on what she was like since he was the first to actually interact with her. Toushirou described her as a Celestial Spirit Mage who fought back to back with her Spirits.
While he admired her resolve and character to do so, he couldn't help but think she could do it a better way. He had heard she sometimes kicked her enemies as a finishing move but it would be far better if she used that whip she carried. As much as she would like to fight alongside her Spirits, she would not be able to deny that she isn't as physically strong as other types of Mages.
And that wasn't bad. It just wasn't good for her current way of fighting. It's why that when a Celestial Spirit Mage did get caught up in fights, they always had a weapon of some kind to help fight with. A whip could, if used correctly, work far better than a kick. Her Celestial Spirits could provide the power but a whip could help trap the enemy so that the Spirits can hit them easily.
Unlike Eve though, she was actually more of a newcomer to Magic in general. She hadn't been training from an early age like for Rune Knights and she hadn't started earlier because of personal issues either. She had been a Mage for, what? A year or two? She was smart though so that helped compensate, especially since she was meant to be a mid to long distance type of Mage anyway. But he had to wonder if someone like Gajeel might have been a better choice.
Actually, that might have not been the cause, and that was taking away the extra damage Gajeel had taken when Levy had let slip who it was that had hurt her. Well he said that she had let it slip but she had been a bit too happy when she said who had attacked her, especially considering she must have known what he would have done afterwards. She must have really wanted revenge on that Dragon Slayer.
Back to the current team, it looked more like Lucy had been chosen because she could work well together with them. He had heard she had been a part of that team with Natsu since she had joined and most missions were done with Gray and Erza alongside them.
A strong team made a strong force to be reckoned with. But Erza with Gajeel for instance and they could have twice the power. However put her with Lucy instead and there would only be a small jump in power. The difference however was what couldn't be measured. Like with Unison Raids, teamwork could sometimes make power grown exponentially. It was probably the best choice and it would be very effective, or at least it would be so long as the enemy wasn't too strong. Sometimes the only thing that could beat something that had a lot of power was to use a similar level of power.
As for Lamia Scale, he wasn't really sure who they were sending. He could try and sense them out, see if he knew any of them, but part of him hoped to see Jura again. They had met each other a few times in the past after that whole Demon fight, the last being to do with a giant squid or something. It would be interesting to see how the man had changed over the years.
"Um… Mister?"
Ichigo glanced to the side to see the face of the little girl they had picked up next to him.
"Um… Are you… Are you going to come inside? It must be cold out here?"
Ichigo shook his head. "Go on in Wendy. I'll be in when the last guild gets here."
Wendy nodded before rushing back inside, the sound of her cat, Carla, scolding her from interacting with him. That cat really had a superior attitude that rubbed him the wrong way. It was all high and mighty, as if she knew best and that people should listen to her only.
Still, it was surprising that the girl had come back out to talk to him. It was why they had gotten to the meeting place after the rest of the members from Fairy Tail. The Master had asked them if they could pick the girl up, a favour the Cait Shelter Guild Master had asked for.
At first it had seemed strange. But it had been understandable since it would be dangerous for a single member of Cait Shelter to travel alone, even if it wasn't a very far distance. The problem would be that they would be an easier target.
So he, Shinji and Toushirou had left the others and headed up towards the guild, only having to take a short detour from their original route to the meeting place. The guild seemed to be a bit bigger than Fairy Tail though that may have been because the guild was more of a village than an actually guild.
It had been an interesting sight to have seen. While small, it had been a busy place, bursting with life. Small trades happened all around them as people swapped their goods with one another, all seeming to share in the happiness of the others.
What he did notice was that they were all cautious around him and his friends, careful in what they said, as if they were afraid one word would give away something. One eye welcomed, the other watched.
The Guild Master, who was called Roubaul, had quickly brought them into his office, shutting them away from the stares of the others. The man was a strange one, and he wasn't referring to the man's outfit. He had seen a few old people from tribes wearing headdresses before. But the man constantly had a habit of pouring a drink and then ignoring the glass he poured and just drinking from the bottle instead.
That wasn't the only thing. The man would suddenly open his mouth to talk and all the liquid inside would spill out, as if he forgot he had been drinking right beforehand. And he constantly said the word Nabura.
What drew his eyes to him though was that tattoo on the man's head. There was a red dot on the centre of the man's forehead, and around it was two arched stripes. For some reason, it just seemed to radiate something, yet he couldn't put his finger on what it was. It was like trying to grab air, and none of the others seemed to notice the same thing he had felt.
Their discussion had been interrupted as a shy blue haired girl had opened the door, a flying cat like Happy following after her. And from the moment he had met her, she had acted as if she was afraid of him, despite that he had tried to act more kindly to her than the others. He didn't really get the reason for her actions but sometimes people just were wary of others. She wasn't very good with Toushirou and Shinji but she could at least interact with them without fear.
That was when they had gotten a massive shock. The member Cait Shelter was sending was this little girl. Trying to argue against sending a child on the mission had backfired enjoyably for the Guild Master as he pointed out that Wendy was the same age as Toushirou, yet Toushirou was able to go on the mission. Wendy herself had seemed almost devastated when she thought she couldn't go anymore. It was like they had kicked a puppy.
So they had conceded, taking the girl with them. She made very little conversation along the route there, constantly sending strange looks towards him when she thought he wasn't watching. He couldn't understand why she was so afraid of him. It didn't make any sense.
They still had no idea of what kind of Magic she used either. All she had told them was that she could use a lot of useful Support Magic, and then gone on to beg people not to leave her out because of that. Glancing into the building, he had noticed that Erza had acted supportively towards her while Ichiya had stated the important of supporting your allies. If Levy was here, she could vouch for the same.
Still, he couldn't believe the nerve of the Trimens. Did they flirt with any girl that crossed their path? He had almost charged in there if Erza hadn't rescued her, big brother instincts he barely remembered emerging for an instance.
It had been eleven years. How were Karin and Yuzu doing he wondered. They would be eleven now. Hopefully they would be okay with his dad. It wasn't like his mum had ever been able to-
He shut down his mind, clearing any thoughts from emerging. Damn, he thought he had finally put that in the past. Yet he still saw that image in his mind, his mother lying on the floor as a pool of blood around her steadily increased. He knew it wasn't his fault, but part of him still blamed himself.
Taking a deep breath, he suppressed those thoughts. He could deal with it later. He had a job to do today.
And that was the whole reason he, Shinji, and Toushirou had been assembled together. It was the job of all the other Mages to deal with Oración Seis. Their job was a little different. In a perfect world, the main plan would work fine. They needed backups and other ideas for if it didn't work.
That was their job. It was essentially two fold. The first was to help in emergencies as a relief squad. Shunpo would allow them to cross areas much quicker than anyone else, and the Master had vouched for their strength too. If it came down to it, they could lend a hand to help give the others some breathing room.
He had asked the Master why not just include them from the start. It had to be easier. The Master had simply smiled as said that they were a trump card for worst case scenarios, and it was better if the enemy did not expect more than what they saw.
Then there was the second reason they were not meant to be with the others. According to the Master, he had talked it over with the other Guild Masters and they had all agreed there was a chance that the Magic known as Nirvana could be released, despite their efforts to stop it. He didn't know what Nirvana was, but he had heard enough in the Master's voice to know it was imperative that they stopped it. But if it was released, there was only one choice. They had to make sure it couldn't leave the forest.
Out of all four guilds, it was only Fairy Tail that had Shinigami. That was what was needed for this job. They needed a barrier strong enough so that not even Nirvana could escape, and something of that level wasn't easy. He still wasn't sure if the plan they had in mind would work as they had never tested the Spell they had ready against extreme forces and there was simply no knowing how powerful Nirvana would be.
One thing was for certain. They would not be able to hold it at bay for any long periods of time. The moment that Nirvana is released would cause half the sensors the Magic Council uses to go haywire. They would just need to hold out till reinforcements could arrive. With three high powered Shinigami, they should be able to hold the barrier up for at least a week anyway so if worst came to worst, they could hold out till help came to seal the Magic away again.
"It has been a while, hasn't it Ichigo?"
Ichigo glanced upwards, seeing the new arrivals. One of them had silvery hair, someone that he had a good guess of who they might be. Lyon Vastia, a newcomer at Lamia Scale who was becoming quite popular. The pink haired woman next to him had to be Sherry if that was the case as the two were normally seen working together.
The last member was exactly who he had hoped to see. "Quite a few years now. How have you been Jura?"
Jura motioned for the others to head inside before leaning down in front of Ichigo, a bit of earth extending out of the ground to form a platform for him to sit on.
The two sat in silence for a moment. Then they broke out into laughter.
"I have been fine Ichigo," said Jura happily. "And it seems that I was right about you all those years ago. You're not back for long but you already became a Wizard Saint, only a year after I did."
Ichigo shrugged. "Juushirou really had to persuade me though. I was resilient against the idea."
Jura nodded sagely. "You should have been. The paperwork they have us do after a mission is simply horrific."
Pushing himself back up, Jura got to his feet and reached an arm out for Ichigo to pull himself up with. "We might as well join the others. I can already hear the commotion happening."
"What do you expect? Take a bunch of competitive Mages and put them in the same room. What did people think would happen?"
"Indeed. I will be honest, I did not exactly expect to see you here, or at least as the role you were given."
"Your Master told you about the backup then?"
"Indeed, and it is likely Ichiya knows too. I will fill the others in shortly."
"Wait a sec." Ichigo quickly reached into his pockets before finally pulling out a small cylindrical object. "This is the signal flare. Send up the smoke and we'll be there as soon as possible."
"Thank you," Jura said as the two walked towards the door. "We might as well get started then. I feel like everything that can go wrong will go wrong."
"Magic's involved. Of course it will."
Jura took one step through the door and smashed his staff onto the floor. All around him, the dust lifted up slightly and it wasn't only the dust that picked up. The shockwave shot forward and all the Mages directly in front of him found themselves shifting slightly from the force. It wasn't much, and it was nothing for some of them, but it did its purpose. It got all of their attention.
Jura slowly took step and step, all eyes falling on him as silence fell. Everyone slowly moved, regrouping into their groups as Jura took his place at the head of the Lamia Scale forces. Ichigo quickly followed and moved next to Shinji.
Jura glanced round each person, one by one. His eyes landed on Wendy for a moment and stared at her curiously for a moment before finally moving on to the girl's relief. He gave a short nod of his head to Erza and Ichiya as his gaze landed on them before finally finishing searching the faces present.
"Well then, it seems that all four guilds have been assembled. With this, I declare the official formation of the Allied Forces. We can now move onto the reason we were assembled today. Our task is to defeat Oración Seis. Here is what we are going to do."
Protector Of The Fairies
First chapter into the Oración Seis arc. The Fantasia was slightly diverged from canon but this arc is going to take a whole new path. New fights are here, new results are in place, and a new mystery added.
So what did people think? The whole Wendy part is part of what I've got planned, and I think some of you may have a rough guess but it is highly likely few of you will have the correct answer just yet. I've done a bit of modifying to her Magic. Nothing that makes her stronger so much but something that gives her Magic a new kind of nature to it. Something that makes it unique when compared to all those Wind Dragon Slayers we hear about in other stories.
Did I portray Oración Seis right? We get more of them soon, this is their arc after all. And despite Ichigo being here, Brain isn't afraid. What has he got planned? Why does he have this confidence? Or is it just his ego talking? As for Lucy here, nothing against her but how is a kick as strong as fire hair and a Sky Dragon Slayer attack? It was against Treasure Hunters, yes, but really? I'm going to slowly alter this here. She has a whip as a long range weapon. She uses it well and that should be her go to weapon.
Now about new chapters of manga, Fairy Tail was interesting. When Zero awoke, I thought he shouldn't have been able to be awoken. Midnight's Magic makes that all right now. And Jellal… That spell… He was going to use it in the Tournament remember. I see why he was stopped.
As for Bleach, interesting setup for the current fight, though I'm confused why Rukia isn't afraid. Or maybe she is able to fight through it better than most after the things she has experienced. It may be made clearer soon. As for Renji, that guy watching him is funny. He didn't notice that Renji truly was asleep for hours. What are the two thinking though? When they said they would storm the palace, I only thought that they were arrogant like that. 2 of them, against a tone of stronger Quincy that were defeating Captains. Depends how far they planned to push forward, because maybe it was to make an opening and lead the charge.
I'm running out of my stockpile though. Got to get writing again, along with watching anime. I created a list… it's a long one.
Anyway, till the next time. I've been Takei. Thanks for reading.
