"Shouldn't you be more focused on eating?"

The question lingered in the air as she picked up a couple of french fries and gobbled them down. 

"Am I not eating?" She stared at me with a raised eyebrow after swallowing her food down. 

"You are." I could only agree with her even though I had my own reservations about the way she was doing it. 'Who talks this much when they are hungry?' I thought to myself as I took another bite of my sandwich. Somethings were always better if they were left unsaid. I couldn't imagine the argument which would start if I were to share my thoughts with her

"Of course I am." She scoffed as she poked a couple of diced vegetables with her fork. 

I hummed lowly in response just to show her that I was paying attention to her words when in reality I couldn't care less about what nonsense she was spouting.
