Fumio walked to the front of the orphanage from the grass area, where he usually trained, confusing the few kids who came out of the orphanage.
There were two older caretakers, an old man, and a robust man who wore a head protector that had two rocks carved into it.
The Iwagakure Shinobi had brown hair, brown eyes, a few scars on his face, and was wearing a brown vest with a red undershirt and matching red pants.
"You four have been chosen to enter the Hidden Rock Village's Academy. Do any of you reject the offer to become a respected Hidden Rock Shinobi, such as this excellent Jonin?" The old man asked the three kids, including Fumio.
The three quickly shook their heads and looked at the Shinobi with shining eyes, while Fumio was surprised at how lucky he got.
He wasn't confident if he was able to join the Academy himself, and his plan was to ask around and make connections, but he was glad that he didn't have to do anything.
"And you? I've heard some things about you, kid. You're allowed to enter the Academy two years early. Will you take this great opportunity?" The old man asked Fumio, making him the center of everyone's, including the jonin, attention.
"Sounds great," Fumio said before some paranoid thoughts entered his head, which he soon dispelled but it still reminded him to stay alert.
The Jonin finally opened his mouth, "We'll be leaving today. I'll give you kids ten minutes to prepare."
The three 8-year-olds entered the orphanage to say goodbye to their friends, and the caretakers and orphanage supervisor left, while Fumio decided to stay and wait.
'So this kid's the reason why I got sent to this place. Entering the Academy at such an age... I hope to see what this kid can do for our village,' The Jonin thought as he looked at Fumio with his arms crossed.
'I wonder if they'll have better food at the Hidden Village...' Fumio thought as he unconsciously smiled when recalling his distorted memories of the 'great' food from his past life.
---
{After 10 Minutes...}
The last kid left the orphanage building right on time. This light brown-haired boy was the second best at soccer, which made Fumio figure that they must've picked individuals based on how good they were at the sport that Fumio re-invented.
The earliest kid was a dark-haired girl, who Fumio didn't know much about.
And the last kid was Fumio's roommate, a boy with dark-brown hair, who was also really good at soccer.
"Let's head out. Keep up," The Jonin coldly said to the kids before he started running at a slow pace, which the kids still considered fast.
'I don't know how far the Hidden Rock Village is from here, I'm glad that I have more stamina from fighting that persistent clone...' Fumio thought as he mimicked the other kids and started naruto-running.
He felt kind of awkward running this way, but he did it anyway so he wouldn't be seen as a weirdo.
---
{After an hour of constant running...}
The Jonin looked behind him to see Fumio, who was still casually breathing through his nose, and the kids behind him, who were breathing heavily but still possessing determination in their eyes.
Fumio was surprised at how much tiring fighting all-out was, compared to running.
After another hour, they began to see large mountains in the distance before the three exhausted kids were startled by four Iwagakure Shinobi appearing, seemingly, out of nowhere.
Fumio was able to detect their presence a few seconds prior to their appearance, from the constant practicing with chakra that he's been doing, but it wouldn't have helped him much if those four Shinobi wanted to kill him.
This was also another reason for him to enter this Academy. He didn't know for sure how the teams were organized in this village, but it was likely that he would have a Jonin captain with him, who can protect him if he makes mistakes.
Knowing that the Hidden Rock Shinobi are very loyal, Fumio wanted to make himself appear as a valuable asset to the higher-ups, so his Jonin captain would be more than happy to sacrifice his/her life for him.
Of course, Fumio wouldn't want this to happen. He was just ridiculing the extent of their careless loyalty.
After reaching the large mountains, the four Chunin, who were following them, finally did something.
They didn't have to say anything to the Jonin, and the same went the other way, as each Chunin bent down to carry each kid on their backs.
Fumio walked past the Chunin in front of him, who was letting him climb on his back, wanting to test the limits of his chakra reserves properly.
This intrigued the Jonin as he nodded his head once to the Chunin, who was looking at him with a perplexed look.
They started running on the steep mountains using chakra, while also occasionally glancing at Fumio from the corner of their eyes.
Fumio hadn't done Tree Climbing with sandals on, so he was kind of fearful, but decided to give it an attempt anyways.
It wasn't much different since all he had to do was to transfer bursts of chakra to the bottom of his feet, through the sandal, and then concentrate them in the space between the bottom of the sandal and the surface of the rock.
Much to their surprise, Fumio started running on the steep mountain's surface as well.
Now, they were curious to see how long he could last since the mountains, that bordered the Hidden Rock Village, were hard to cross without enough chakra and stamina.
---
{After an hour of using chakra to run on the mountains...}
The Chunins had lost a quarter of their chakra reserves, the Jonin had only lost 10 percent, and Fumio had lost 85 percent.
This told him that he still had a low amount of chakra in his reserves, but he was happy that supplying bursts of chakra, instead of a steady supply, spared him from some humiliation.
'How much chakra does this 6-year-old even have?' The Chunins and the Jonin thought, the latter being far less impressed, as they obviously referred to Fumio.
The Chunin woke up the kids on their backs before leaving them to the Jonin, who was assigned to safely escort them.
"We're here. You're each given a room in that building close to the Academy," The Jonin said as he pointed towards it, before continuing, "You have two months to get settled in before the Academy starts. Don't cause any trouble."
He gave each kid a stone key, with a number carved on it, before 'Body Flickering' away.
Fumio and the other three orphans looked at the Hidden Rock Village's beautifully-designed rocky buildings, bridges, and waterfalls, in awe at the sheer size of the village...
Tell me if you see any problems in the chapter, and I'll fix them.
