If Gin's not wrong, the series of attack was orchestrated by the person commanding them; the vines and ice blade formed by pure elemental energy.
Pulling out the ice blade stuck in his shoulder, he mentally commented: 'Good move!'
Getting rid of the wood vines, Gin eyed the two figures responsible for the attack. They are none other than the persons who opened three hidden seals.
They stood outside the seven-man encirclement formed by the other Seal Opening practitioners, panting. The Elemental attack most likely drained them of their energy.
Gin smirked and roared, "Come!"
'Wooden Hailstorm!'
Whirling the staff around his body in high-speed, Gin lunged at the person nearest to him. His spinning staff blocked all the incoming attacks, and at the same time smashed against the opponents who approached him.
This attack centers on defense, but if an enemy comes near him, he/she will become his staff's target.
Within a few seconds, his staff pulverized everyone's head into a pulp except for the two who opened three hidden seals.
The two glanced at Gin in nervousness while their eyes were filled with despair and terror. They didn't envision that a simple mission such as this would turn for the worse.
Gin looked wicked standing amongst the pile of dead bodies with blood smeared upon his face and clothes.
"Boss Backfire, please save us." The two of them promptly begged for help. They are at the end of the road like a fish on the chopping board.
Beep...Beep...was the only sound that answered them. They were abandoned.
A blow to the head. Gin ended their life without showing a shred of mercy and pity. If he was in their position, they would have done the same; killing him without batting an eye.
He took a long breath and exhaled. The strange energy coursing through his body has slowly faded away, leaving him in a somewhat exhausted and weakened state.
He took out two vials of potion—Healing potion and Essence Replenishing potion—from the magical space and emptied them in one gulp.
They eased his exhaustion but he knew it's only temporary.
At that moment, Gin's ears perked up. He heard a series of footsteps and saw another team of seven in the distance. They emerged from the same direction he came.
'This group should be the one that was stationed in the forest. They arrived sooner than I anticipated.' Gin thought.
It's the smallest and strongest group he met today. Out of seven, six were at 'three hidden seals' opened level while the person leading the group has already opened four hidden seals.
The person leading the group is none other than the figure who was stealthily following Gin earlier. His name is famous among the top criminal groups—Silentwatch.
When he camouflages himself, even some peak seal opening stage practitioners fail to sense him. That how good he is. It's also the reason why Gin couldn't spot him even after perceiving someone was trailing him.
Confronting them head-on is infeasible. If it's just the six who opened three hidden seals, Gin may have a chance but with the person who opened four hidden seals around, he's simply seeking his death.
Wastin no time, Gin quickly dashed towards the valley end, where the boss of the Backfire group is enjoying his time.
Silentwatch reached the spot where Gin stood a few seconds before and he also noticed the pile of bodies spread around the snow-clad area.
His face grimaced. He didn't anticipate the battle would break out, in the time he took to meet with Team A and get here.
"Let's go, he's moving towards the Boss's location, "Silentwatch smirked. "He's seeking his own death."
The other six behind him also chuckled, they knew how strong their leader Backfire is.
After twenty minutes of break-free running, Gin reached the end of the ice valley. He then noticed the silver-haired man reclining in a wooden chair, completely laid-back.
He's not a fool. He knew the person before him is clearly related to the group who was targeting him. Otherwise, he wouldn't be waiting for him here.
He could sense a sinister vibe from the man before him. His body was surrounded by a dense murderous aura as of someone who annihilated thousands of beings.
When his eyes met the man, he sensed a heavy killing intent directed at him.
"Hello, Mr. Gin. I was hired by someone to kill you. They paid me a huge sum to make it look like an accident.
At first, I thought I was lucked out, but your strength is way higher than I anticipated.
You're also a stubborn person, inflicting huge damage to my group. Now, I feel the pay is low, I should have negotiated for more." Gris calmly spoke, the heat from the firepit warmed his extended arms.
"How much did they pay you?" Gin asked, curious about how much his life was worth.
"2 Million elemental stones," Gris answered without hiding anything.
"Is it a lot?" Gin felt it's pretty low.
"Yes, it's a lot. You should feel proud. Only peak Seal opening stage cultivators who opened eight or more hidden seals worth that much." Gris started.
There's a reason why the silver dragon domain gave him that much money. As per the agreement he made, there should be no witnesses after killing the target.
Meaning, he has to kill everyone involved in the mission. It's the only downside. Well...Gris doesn't think of it as a downside since everyone except Silentwatch was contracted just for this mission.
No attachments. Apart from the small downpayment he paid them, he won't lose anything. He doesn't even need to pay them for the mission.
Both of them looked at each other. Gin could see his opponent isn't in a rush to make his move, but he is. The other team would soon catch up, he has to do something.
He could sense his opponent has already opened eight hidden seals. Even running isn't an option when facing such a powerful person.
Having no alternatives, Gin sighed, and a purple orb appeared in his hands. 'I didn't expect I will be forced to use this orb so soon.'
Noticing the appearance of purple spirit orb in Gin's hands, Gris's eyes narrowed and he hopped off from his seat. "Oh boy! This isn't good!"
"I don't mind throwing this at you if you're still hell-bent on killing me." Gin spoke, while casually tossing the orb up and then catching it.
At that moment, Silenwatch's team also arrived. They stopped a few meters away from Gin, remaining silent and waits for Gris's command.
Silence prevailed.
"...that thing won't save your life, it would at most pester us a little." Gris calmly announced.
"Are you sure, why don't we test it before concluding?" saying this, Gin swiftly whirled his body and hurled the orb towards the group of seven.
The distance between them was just 20 - 30 meters, since Gin used his entire strength, the orb reached the group in a blink of an eye.
Silentwatch was quick to react, he doesn't know what that orb is but his instinct screamed at him to move. Driving all the energy onto his legs, he sped off from the area.
The other six were quite slow, reacting only after Silentwatch moved.
'Crash!'
The purple orb hit the floor and there was a purplish dazzling flash that spread 5 meters radius, encompassing the six figures.
Gin covered the eyes with his wrist. Four or five seconds later, the purplish light particles dissipated away.
"Ahhhh!"
Aside from the screaming figure of Silentwatch, there was no one near him. The other six figures were completely wiped out and dissolved into thin air.
As for Silentwatch, he was missing part of his left leg; everything below his thigh. He didn't die because he was quick to react and left the potent range of the orb.
At that moment, Gris who remained composed till now made his move. He swiftly arrived before Gin and punched at his chest.
Gin didn't try to block his attack but simply waved his hand and another purplish orb can be seen tightly held in his hand. Just a little more force, it would burst.
Grish ceased his attack which was just centimeters away from striking his chest. Sweat formed on his forehead, noticing another orb in Gin's palm.
He quickly retreated back to his original position. He doesn't plan on perishing together with the target.
"Shall we talk now?" Gin asked, appearing nonchalant but his heart was pounding heavily.
'Phew!' He mentally let out a sigh of relief.
If he hadn't reacted fast, his opponent's blow would have shattered most of the bones in his body as he clearly felt the terrifying force contained in that punch.
