It's not an ordinary hall but a stupendous one with excellent design adorned with various artistic ornaments while ancient paintings of majestic beasts and breathtaking landscapes bound to the wall.
"Welcome to Master Windspear's humble Abode." The middle-aged man introduced.
Gin was stupified by the sight which greeted him, it was his first time witnessing such a grand display of architecture. The thing that caught his attention is the large painting in the middle of the wall – upon it sat a dignified man in blue robes.
Refined face, middle-aged appearance, sharp eyes that can pierce any being. What Gin found astonishing is, his appearance is similar to the middle-aged man beside him.
"Is that?" Gin asked.
"Yes, it is Master Windspear during his prime." The middle-aged man replied while Gin gave a courtesy bow with respect as he was going to accept his inheritance.
"You are a filial one." The middle-aged man praised, still expressionless.
"Before accepting Master Windspear's inheritance, you have to know about his life experience." The middle-aged man said while Gin nodded.
"Master Windspear was a born mortal same as you, he rose to power step by step from ordinary mortal to Half-step Deity. Pity, he died before he could become a Deity Level Being which is his life's pursuit."
"Even so, his achievements and strength are something that even Deities revere. He's one of a few who can defeat Deities while being a Half step Deity."
"So, nothing will please his dead soul except for one of his inheritors becoming a Deity. It is Master Windspear's dying wish!."
"As a person who's going to inherit his proudest technique, you need to become a Deity. You have to etch this information in your mind – You need to become a Deity."
The middle-aged man solemnly declared.
"Are Deities, beings above the Transcendent level?" Gin asked, scratching his head. He was truly ignorant about these things.
"Yes," The middle-aged man kept the answer short. "Are you ready to receive the inheritance?"
Seeing Gin nod his head, the middle-aged man pressed his index finger on Gin's forehead, it shined in brilliant light, then from his hand, small golden glittering threads flowed into Gin's head.
Just as the middle-aged man withdrew his hand, Gin found the technique 'Absolute-wind' firmly imprinted onto his mind, unerasable.
Gin was excited, how could he not be? He just received an inheritance surpassing a Transcendent level. If this news leak out, bloodshed will ensue and he will be hunted by every expert present on the continent.
Without wasting any time, he quickly glanced at the contents of the technique and found it's composed of three stages while he can only inspect the first stage; later two stages were locked.
Excited, Gin peered into the contents of the first stage. Just as he studied for 30 seconds, he felt giddy as if he suddenly lost his intelligence and become dumb.
"What?" Gin staggered a little before steadying himself.
"You can't decipher the contents of this technique like others, the grade of this technique far exceeds your knowledge and understandings.
You need to have patience and take one step at a time, only then you can comprehend the mysteries of the technique." The middle-aged man calmly explained.
"Who are you?" Gin asked again.
"I am a thought left behind by Master Windspear and I only emerge when the spirit of this Inheritance ground perishes."
"I don't understand!"
"If I have to explain in your terms, I am just a programmed AI who activates in case of emergencies, like now."
"You are the reason for magical beasts group attacking Fiends?" Gin asked.
"Correct. Fiends are the natural enemies of all living beings so how could I let them tarnish Master Windspear's resting place." The middle-aged man answered. "Any other questions?"
"Why did you select me, there should be other youths who are better than me, right?"
"True, there are three more candidates who possess a similar combat strength to yours, but they are not qualified because they don't have wind affinity."
"What? then why did you select me? I too don't possess any Elemental affinity since I didn't awaken any spirit seal." Gin asked in bewilderment.
"I think you lack a basic understanding of the world. As an inheritor of Master Windspear, you need to be a knowledgable person. I recommend you to read more books to broaden your horizon."
"Coming back to your question, If you have awakened any spirit seal, you can only train in affinities related to your spirit seal, and practicing in other affinities won't be easy."
"But as a Physique cultivator, you have an innate advantage; You can practice in any affinity without a problem. You are not favored by any affinities and at the same time, not repulsed."
"Do you have any other questions?" The middle-aged man patiently asked.
"How did all these ruins come here in the first place?"
"To answer this question, I have to explain some things first."
"The world where Master Windspear lived is called Deity Realm, located far away from your world. Suddenly, one day a tragedy struck the entire realm, gradually depriving all kinds of energy present in the world. "
"Without energy to nourish the body, no beings can survive the passage of time. Chaos ensued, everyone fought with others for the remaining resources."
"All of them knew the end of the world is coming, they wanted nothing but to survive. Finally, some found a way — escaping to the mortal planes."
"But what they didn't expect is, even the mortal planes would experience the same tragedy some years later. Eventually, all the experts perished, none escaped; be it humans, Fiends, Magical beasts."
"Even the Spirit which governed Master Windspear's inheritance ground perished the same way. If not the Energy Converging Array, you couldn't have seen me."
Hearing such an astonishing piece of news, Gin was dumbfounded. "When did this tragedy happen?"
"Million years ago and it lasted for more than 500,000 years. But now, I can feel the energies of the world were slowly recovering and it's even better and richer than before, it won't be long before it fully restores."
"Now you know the truth about these ruins, they are nothing but burial grounds and hopes left behind by the experts of the Deity realm."
"Do you have any other questions?" The middle-aged once again patiently asked.
"No"
"Good. Apart from the 'Absolute-wind' technique, you are eligible to receive three treasures that help in your cultivation. After much consideration, I picked three treasures that suits you best."
Saying this the middle-aged man waved his hand and three things emerged out of thin air and hovered in front of Gin.
Before Gin could inspect them, a small crimson stone, the size of a fist, drifted to him while the middle-aged man explained. "This thing is called Sourcestone, collected from the core of the sun which is filled with rich energy of heaven and earth. It's a treasure that even the Peak Transcendent beings covet."
"With this thing by your side, you don't have to worry about the lack of training resources. The energy within the stone can last until you become a transcendent."
As soon as Gin grasped the stone in his hand, pure energy spread throughout his body, carrying forth a pleasant and warm sensation.
Next, a small tattered book with yellow pages appeared before him while the middle-aged man resumed his explanation.
"It's a training note personally written by a peerless Physique cultivator who discovered 11 hidden seals. To you, it's worth is beyond value."
After receiving the book, Gin looked at the final item – an emerald feather plume with an azure shade around its edges.
"The Last treasure is a unique one, I specifically chose it for you." The middle-aged man told.
"R-really, What is it?"
"It's called soul strand—that contains vast knowledge about everything except for cultivation techniques. For example, different types of magical beasts, common knowledge about herbs, medicines, poisons, different types of sprit seals and their abilities, so on."
"If you want to learn about any things, you can directly do so by concentration your soul energy thinking about the topic you want to inquire about."
"A good treasure for an ignorant person like yourself." Hearing the middle-aged man words, Gin's mouth twitched a little.
'He views me as an illiterate person, am I that dumb? ' Gin thought to himself and received the last item.
"Your job here is done, If you are ready, I will send your consciousness back." The middle-aged man spoke.
"Wait...Wait...that's it? I won't get any cultivation techniques, martial skills, mortal grade weapons like others?" Gin hurriedly asked.
"You're a Physique cultivator, spirit seal cultivation techniques are useless to you. As for weapons and martial skills, yes, you can select one."
"Let's say I have some troubles outside, I need a transcended-grade technique to ensure my life is safe."
"Your request is within the acceptable range." Saying this, the middle-aged man agreed and bestowed him a manual titled — Mystic Heart.
"It's a transcended-grade cultivation technique which can be practiced by anyone, regardless of the spirit seal.
Next, you can select a Martial skill and a weapon suitable for you."
