Capítulo 20: Dealing with the undead
2 days later as we get near Joe's village I see that the village is surrounded by a wall of fresh logs and the entrance is blocked by 20 zombies that are slamming into the door
I nod to Natalya who yells " SHIELDS UP FRONT ARCHERS IN BACK MOVE FORWARD STAY CLOSE TOGETHER AND DON'T GET BIT OTHERWISE YOU WILL DIE"
After Natalya finishes giving orders her troops her archers let out a volley of arrows to get the undead's attention while her regular troops very efficiently chop and stab their way to the gates where I hear someone say "Oy who is ye"
Luckily Joe answers before I say something sarcastic Joe says "Oy Jerry open the fucking gate, I brought help for the town ya silly cunt"
"Alright Alright no need to get testy Joe I'm opening the gate"
As the gate opens I see 20 people with weapons at the ready watching and at the back I see a woman at the back who is towering over everyone including me by about 4 inches with blood red hair that somehow has waves and curls with small braids at the ends while wearing leather boots with steel grieves , cotton pants and shirt with a steel breastplate over the shirt,and a leather trench coat with plates of steel on the shoulders along with a gleaming leather sword belt with a beautiful falchion attached. After I finish looking at her gear I look up at her face and see her wink and walk away without making a sound
After the woman walks away I see someone I assume is the mayor because of his overweight appearance and overabundance of shiny jewelry that he's wearing along with the ridiculous robe he's wearing. As the mayor jiggles and wheezes up to me he says " Jerry who gave you permission to open the gates to strangers"
"No one mayor but they came to help and Joe said to..."
"Joe isn't in charge is he. Now who are you" the mayor says looking at me
"I am Jaeger Jaghund Des Waldes the forest lord and I was asked to eliminate your undead problem which I accepted now are there any other stupid fucking questions or can me and mine do our jobs"
As the mayor goes wide eyed at who I am Joe leads me to a house nearby and shows me a map of the village and says " the undead have been coming out of the cemetery here" he say pointing" and the gate was left open by someone who was probably looking for the treasure rumored to be hidden there but I can't tell you much more than that because no one has come back after trying to take a look"
"Okay it sounds like someone activated a curse and the undead are after them so who would actually desecrate a grave for money in town Joe"
"Hmm I hate to say it but only the mayor is that greedy"
"TO THE WALLS QUICKLY TO THE WALLS THE UNDEAD ARE ATTACKING AGAIN AND ARE CLIMBING OVER" a guardsmen in chain armor yells while running into town
After hearing that we grab our weapons and rush to the walls to help and see the defenders stabbing and slicing anything they see until an enormous undead jumps over the wall and starts swatting people out of the way and starts running towards the mayor's house
"Shit Natalya you and your men watch the walls I'll chase down that big son of a bitch okay"
"Got it boss" she says as her troops start to very efficiently cut through the undead
After giving the orders I start chasing the big undead and see it chasing the mayor who is very inaccurately mind you throwing fireballs all over while running away from this enormous undead until the mayor sees me so he runs to me and tries to hide behind me until I say " Mayor why is this creature chasing you and don't even try lying okay you jackass"
While sounding like he's going to pass out he says "fine I may have desecrated the graves of these undead for the treasure in their mausoleums now kill that thing and I'll give you half of it barbarian"
Rather than help an evil piece of shit like him I grab him and toss him into the super zombie who promptly rips out his still beating heart and after eating it nods at me before calmly leaving the town with the remaining undead and falling back in their graves and mausoleums and crumbling apart.
After that the townspeople start cheering and right before I and my people can leave Joe asks" Sir Jaeger would it be possible for us to become part of your lands because we can't easily defend ourselves"
"Sure Joe just send 20 percent cut of your earnings to me and send any men who want to be soldiers to my castle for training on that note goodbye Joe"
After Joe agrees with my terms we leave and on the way meet up with the group that went after the bandit who slaughtered all of them with no issues and spend the next 2 days getting home and I notice that the tall woman is following us home
