Capítulo 20: Qin Lanying
Silver hair, blue eyes, white skin, voluptuous body, the Chinese woman was an obvious beauty who no sane man could take their eyes off of.
"What do you have to say?"
Looking towards Meili who looked to be smiling sneakily, Axel didn't say anything which would reveal that he didn't know what she was talking about.
Instead, he directly said, "I wanted to give you an opportunity to apologize."
"Apologize? Me? Humph! You must be out of your mind to think so."
Rolling her eyes, the woman said, "Since you wasted my time, I'm going to eat and give you the opportunity to pay."
Not saying anything and just looking at her because he just saw something weird which tipped him off a little about her true identity, Axel slowly asked, "What's your name?"
"Why would I tell... "
Stopping since she felt that Axel's gaze looked different from before, the woman after hesitating finally chose to reveal her name since he was going to be paying for her meal.
"Qin. Qin Lanying."
Sighing loudly in obvious relief, Axel surprised both his guest and Meili.
Tugging on his clothes, Meili whispered in his ear, "Do you know her?"
Shaking his head Axel didn't say anything else as the food arrived and the two women started eating immediately.
Though the no conversation made the table atmosphere feel awkward, Axel instead of bothering about it kept on looking at Lanying who kept giving off weird vibes which kept him on his toes.
Her name made it seem like she wasn't whom she thought he was, but the longer he stayed near her the more obvious her identity was becoming to him.
"Ummm... Lanying, your mother is?"
Looking towards Axel who for someone reason was very interested in digging up information about her, Lanying after thinking for a while revealed a few details which only made Axel look even more uncomfortable causing the Chinese beauty to feel curious about what was going on.
Gulping hard, Axel slowly whispered, "I take it that you don't know who your father is, right?"
Nodding her head with a slightly surprised expression, Lanying asked, "How did you know?"
Instead of answering, Axel bitterly smiled at how cunning Aphrodite was to say that she was the love of his life.
If her father found out about him, not just him but the five Goddesses would also have a very hard time.
Clenching his fist, Axel felt that maybe Lanying herself didn't know about her true identity.
Axel only had a western name because the five Goddesses refused to let anyone of them name him depending on their mythologies or region and therefore chose one from the west. It didn't have anything to do with his birth or the way he looked more western.
The woman in front of him however was a Chinese woman that despite being a daughter of Zeus didn't possess a Greek name.
The first obvious sign Axel found was the sparks of lightning inside her eyes when she turned agitated. This happened when she tried to slap him.
But, he felt that maybe that was his imagination after hearing her name.
After all, no child of Zeus ever had a name which wasn't related to him until now.
But in this case, it might be possible that the woman's mother herself didn't know that her daughter belonged to the trickster Zeus.
Or maybe she chose to deny it.
Either way, Axel knew that he definitely had to keep his distance from Lanying.
Even though Hara had always been furious with Zeus over his affairs and tortured his spawns, Zeus always did look after his kids secretly.
So, if Axel kept on staying near Lanying or tried to get close with her, Zeus would obviously find out about him. And once he did, it was the same as revealing how he was born and who took part in creating him.
Therefore, Axel quickly stood up and placed some money on the table before quickly leaving while looking at Lanying over his shoulder again and again.

"Didn't you say that there was something important he wanted to talk to me about?"
"I thought the same. Well, just think of this as a free meal."
Acting as if she didn't care too much about what happened, Meili went back to eating while making sure to remember everything about the woman sitting opposite to her.
For someone like Axel to turn curious in her and then obviously run away, she should definitely not be as simple as she looked.
As for Lanying, she also figured out that something was definitely fishy.
She wouldn't go as far as to say that Axel looked scared of her, but he did look very nervous the last few seconds he spent on the table before leaving.
What did he find out about her that she herself didn't know?
'Does he know my father?'
Thinking that she should find Axel and spend some time interrogating him after she obtained the support of the Goddess who'd wake up tomorrow, Lanying couldn't help turn curious and start to question if maybe he was the love of her life like that woman had said.
