Capítulo 103: Salvation

Darkness. The only salvation willing to take his hand. Surrounding him like he was the centre of attention.

He looks around, watching the lonely abyss standing between him and his broken path. Opening its' arms with cold melancholy, speaking of no ill intentions nor display of emotion. His palms trembled, still fresh from his battle with bloody scars and tainted black dirt, weary for another battle. Sweating nervously at the mild force which dragged him along through the void, accompanying him he was his only friend even through the night. He looks through the darkness, searching for answers but all he sees was nothing but a reflection of himself. Blankly staring back with no thoughts or complaints about his endeavours. Just him and pitch black silence echoing through the dark. A solitude of no grudges and unease.

He sits down slowly, crossing his legs in mediation. Slowly coming to his senses at his inevitable end, guilty with happy tears, silently sobbing from his foolish antics that got him killed. That guilt that once filled his heart now swallowed with prideful blood, absent and solvent. Forgiven for his actions after leaving what was his friends behind to suffer at his hands. To turn into the monsters from his inability as a then child with responsibilities far too much to bear. He smirks, feeling his pages end without any sorrow or remorse on his end, feeling the cold air embrace him once more. Reminding him of his time at The Light of Men in Team Six and Code Zero, clouding his mind with mechanical pain.

"Perhaps I had jumped the shark..."

He sighs, wiping away his tears. Realising his fate now stuck in purgatory, born with nothing and now left with nothing. Damned to think of his past over and over again with crazed fixation. He relaxes his nerve, stretching his arms in capitulation. Resting alongside his new best friend in the cold. Dwindling in bitterness and cuddling with his errors.

"W-What..."

Bright lights engulfed the dark void, overcoming the bitterness once hidden through the void. Pulling and overwhelming his sight in what he felt was the shadow realm. It's embrace tight, hopeful he would stay with it but the force was too much. Dragging him to his numb senses, filled wincing pain all over his body. His eyes fluttered, noticing Verda and Shane tending to his wounds in a bright room with metal cladding, slowly moving her stiff palms now burnt beyond recognition amid her bloody stained clothes. Trembling without the proper treatments required to treat her despite her strong psychic abilities, still treating him like the pain she went through was nothing.

Behind her, a window opened to another room. Illuminating her slimy mother holding Tatsuya and his henchman back, stiffened and humiliated amongst the goo that stained their shirts. Ignorant of Baku and the others attempting to interrogate them and their endeavours with no success. Hurling angry remarks Scott who had spotted his revival. Furious and infuriated at his survival. Though as he looks at his eyes, he could tell the angriest one wasn't him.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?!? JUST BECAUSE YOU LEFT SOMEONE BEHIND DUE TO YOUR INABILITIES AS A CHILD DOESN'T DEFINE YOU AS A MAN!"

He is slapped across the face, fling through the room and cracking the armoured glass window. Still reflective of fires and debris found around the hideout now tearing itself into pieces. He looks up, turning to see Verda staring back at him, unbothered by her injuries despite her busy mother staring back at her with concern. Bothered by the wounds she may not recover from.

"Ambar. You still have responsibility as a Super. Such a petty thought to play such an act. It's no wonder you are such a small man. A child who doesn't learn from his naivety."

He looks away, unable to face Shane who decided to join in to pick on him. He nervously gulped, turning his attention to his wounds, patched up with red stains slowly drying up. Stinging upon every move and pinning him to the floor. Hoping Verda would simmer down.

"We've managed to stiched up your deep wounds, that lance nearly hit multiple vital parts of your body. Took me five hours just to patch things up. Thank your colleague Timeraker later. You were bleeding so badly he had to give you his blood just for you to survive."

Verda turns to look at Hanson whom sat glum by the bench. Ignorant at the trio who mentioned his name as he sips water. He seems evidently tired, sweating beneath his hat, staring into his watch that had scratches all over the watch crystal. Still in his emotional turmoil over their actions. He couldn't tell where he went earlier, but with his attire tattered with slashes and lacerations around his body, he was way too busy and enclosed to answer to anyone earlier.

"Where are the others?"

He turns back to face the two, nodding apologetically as he uneasily stood back up, watching the multitude of machines surround him with a warm welcome. Powering up with a happy whirl, eager to go one more adventures. Behind the swarming machines, Leroy stood by the metal door, scratching his earphone which screeched and crackled. Still dormant and unresponsive. He sighs, staring back at the earphones to look for damage but it seemed flawless. Leaving only one error mostly overlooked if not for him being locked in a casket for some time. Perhaps he had overestimated what he had learnt throughout his time in purgatory.

"Is he alright?"

Leroy wanders into the room, patting on Ambar's back and facing Verda who looked upon her badly burnt wounds. Careful to not touch her stinging wounds still affecting her movement throughout the large base.

"Yeah just about done with him, I'll try to patch mine on my own. Have you received any word from the man in the casket? It had been over five hours."

She puts her hand behind her back, looking away from Leroy's gaze, still haggard from his interrogation with the two teenage mech pilots. Unyielding from their demands to cooperate with their lack of trust. Shane crossed her arms, unable to make out what happened outside when she stormed in to assist Baku and the others. Each tremble from their machines constantly attempting to tear the place down made her jump multiple times.

The place trembled again, echoing the noise of plants clashing with metal. Blasting away constantly from her violent attempts at his life. The cyborg tangled in slime had let the cat was out of the bag, his antics back in the Chinese Terrorist Group far too unforgivable despite his redemption in The Light of Men. Left to face the wrath of what seemed to be her sister in a machine who is begging to let it go for his lack of involvement in the matter. Hoping to join the referee flying through the skies, attempting to watch and prevent her from doing anything extreme amongst the invading aliens finding ways to exploit their broken relationships. Still horrified and betrayed at his actions.

As a colleague who she had worked alongside, she doesn't even now how to approach him on the matter. But even in his heart, he seemed to had known of his mistake and had made multiple attempts to redeem himself. He couldn't be doing this without a reason. She sighs, looking down with misery. Saddened at the group now tearing itself to pieces. Unable to trust one another without having a gun pointed at each other. Worse was the reaction the public would get if it's entirety was revealed and the chaos it would bring globally. She shook her head, hoping to get it out of her system for now as she looks on to Leroy who apologetically nudged his earphone. Unable to answer Verda's question.

"Yeah... about that..."

The earphone fizzled to life, alerting him to his presence with the sounds of fidgeting and solitude. Thunderously ignored with the sound of concrete powder flying through the air. Forcefully torn to pieces upon its weight. The sounds of groaning softly seethed into the microphone, irking his reaction. Hopeful that he wasn't this deranged.

"Apologies, couldn't get the thing to function. I'm mentally two centuries out of shape."

He chuckled softly, looking through the corridors ladened with blood. The sounds of hissing smoke and dripping water dribbling through the compound echoed into the dim corridors. Silently ignoring Leroy's curiosity over his statement. He looks around, noticing how the disguised AIRLANDERS robot manufacturing plant was larger than he expected, filled with tight corridors and abandoned machinery, torn asunder amid the wild wailing of a jaguar deep into the facility.

Darting around the entirety of the planet had been a tumultuous task. Hiding from soldiers and aliens all storming the lands only to land himself here after four hours of searching. A time he had squandered if not for his determination to check everything. Even then the place seemed to be void of any alive soldier, all slumped to the floors with their blood staining their clothes. He had thought their target had escaped, leaving dead aliens as a sign of their rage. Yet upon the undamaged fences and equipment, there seemed to be more that meets the eye. Dragging him and his intuition into the deep dim maze.

He wanders further, sneaking through the wooden doors left ajar and ripped apart from its' hinges. Scattering the blood-stained floor with tainted sawdust and splinters which pierced through the mountain of corpses in what was a large two story intersection leading to more rooms. Barely illuminating their shocked faces still filled with awe and terror. He stops in his tracks, unable to continue moving forward without puking at the sight. Watching the blue creature sitting on top of the pile. Licking its' lips at the beautiful mess of it's making. It looks around, dazed with a cold expression, watching the half naked man stand with his stolen lab coat. Staring composed at his newfound problem.
