I think the title is quite appropriate, after all, Mu Liang's family is increasing.
The relationship between the parents and Gyasi is quite tense, I want to remember that he gets along well with his older brothers, his grandfather, and younger sister Nyashia. He doesn't get along with his half-brothers as Ade and Chad do.
So Gyasi is distressed at having taken this rash attitude, but he could not stop empathizing with Rashid who was betrayed by his mother. This shows that Gyasi at some point or more times felt betrayed by his own mother.
