Capítulo 2: Prologue Part 2
After the momentary bright flash of light, Shu Lin reopened her eyes to find herself in a brightly lit room of white. First it was so dark that she could not see anything, now it was so bright that she did not want to see anything. Was whatever that brought her here trying to ruin her eyes?! Shu Lin grumbled in her mind as her eyebrow twitched in annoyance as she immediately closed her eyes to let them slowly adjust to the change in environment.
Suddenly, a monotone voice resounded in the room. "Congratulations to new host, Shu Lin for bondimg to the Counterattack of the Villainess System. The introduction of the rules and instructions shall now begin."
Sorry, what? Did she hear wrongly? The Counterattack of the Villainess System? Shu Lin was speechless. She tried to ask the unseen monotone voice some questions but it ignored her as it continued on about the instructions.
" Firstly, the host of the Counterattack of the Villainess System is required to complete main missions. Failure to do so will result in severe punishment and even dispersion of the host's soul. Successful completion of main missions will result in varying amounts of points.
Secondly, the main missions issued by the Counterattack of the Villainess System include but not limited to capturing the male lead's heart, make the female lead feel utmost regret, achieve a happily ever after and ruling the world.
Thirdly, sub missions and hidden missions may be issued. You are advised to complete them to gain points. They include but are not limited to finding out the true background of the Villainess and obtain what the female lead or male lead desire.
Lastly, when the host's points are enough, the host may exchange them for a single wish including but not limited to returning to the host's original world alive and staying in a mission world.
The rules and instructions have been made clear. The host is entitled to some time to absorb the information. The host may also ask any questions in the given time."
After the monotone voice stopped speaking, Shu Lin felt a sense of relief that at least it gave her time to digest all the information that was suddenly dumped on her. She went through all the information given to her and trembled when she rembered what it said about the very first rule. Severe punishment will be meted out if she failed to complete the main misions and her soul may be dispersed. Although the last rule made the whole thing sound beneficial, the risks far outweigh the benefits in her opinion.
Was it too late to reject being the host of this Counterattack of the Villainess System? Might as well give it a shot and ask it.
"Um, sorry but is it possible that I..." Before she could finish speaking, the monotone voice spoke again.
"Time given to the host is up. Now starting transfer of host to the trial world." Right after it finished speaking, Shu Lin felt a strong suction force pulling her. Right before she fell into unconsciousness, her last thought was, I really really regretted reaching for the light. She would stay for eternity in the dark abyss if she knew this was going to happen when she tried to reach for the light.
