Capítulo 12: A New Beginning (2)
Not long, Aunt May pulled over and stopped in front of a building.
"Well, here we are." Aunty May said gesturing towards an apartment building complex. "What do you think?"
I see a four story high building with the same old architecture that I saw in the buildings we have passed by, but it somewhat has a difference from the rest.
I looked at it in awe. The building looked amazing.
"It's beautiful aunty." I said with amazement. "It retained the old look of Paris but I can see a tinge of modern styles in it too."
"Wow, you've got an eye there my dear." Aunty May praised me. "You can be a great architect someday."
"Me, an architect?" I looked at her in confusion.
"Why not? Your parents said you came here in Paris to find yourself. Might as well try out architecture when you get the chance." Aunty May winked.
She pulled the car inside the garage entrance of the apartment building.
While getting my bags and following Aunty May to the elevator, I was thinking about what she had said.
'Try architecture. I haven't thought of that.' In my last life I worked at my father's company that focused on sales and marketing.
I wanted to become a successful lady that can stand beside Jeremy who was by that time took over his father's company as the head and CEO.
'Maybe I will try architecture.' The thought made me smile.
The architecture here in Paris caught my attention. It won't hurt to try a few different things. If that doesn't work out for me then I can try another one until I find what I will come to love.
I am now starting a new life, a new beginning. I am still young and I want to try different things, experience life and what it has to offer. I want to live and love for myself in this second chance I was given.
Not long the elevator dinged and the doors slowly opened. I looked at the elevator monitor and it showed the number five.
"The fifth floor?" I asked while Aunty May ushered me out.
"Yep, your unit is found here." Aunty May said while helping me carry some of my bags.
She navigated the hallways and come to a stop in front of one of many doors.
"Apartment 505. This will be your home for your stay here." Aunty May said and gave me the keys to the door. "Well, do the honors." She said with a smile.
I took the keys and looked at it for a while. "Yes, this is my new beginning." I inserted the keys and opened the door knob.
The inside was still dark. We put down the bags on the floor. I hear Aunt May searching for the light switch. And after I heard a click, the lights opened instantly.
I was in awe with the interior of the apartment. The inside was colored with a warm cream color. The wood furniture was made with mahogany and it complimented the cream color of the walls. The couches had a darker toned cream color. The flooring was wooden and also matches the color scheme. There was a large french window that leads to a balcony outside.
"Why not take a look at the balcony." Aunt May suggested.
I walked towards the window and what I saw outside took my breath away. I saw the view of the magnificent Eiffel Tower. I slowly opened the french windows and walked outside. The wind was cold but I was numb for a while with the breath taking view.
"It's beautiful." I said in awe.
"I know right." Aunt May said. "Well while you are here we can make the time to visit the Eiffel Tower. But tomorrow we need to go to the store to buy your necessities."
"Hmm, okay" I nodded in agreement.
I was preparing to go inside when I noticed the apartment right next to me with its lights open.
"I have a neighbor next door?" I said to no one in particular.
"Oh yes, your next door neighbor is a young man. He is solo living there and just moved in a few weeks ago. I guess he is a painter or something." Aunt May replied. "Oh I will say, he is a handsome fella. He is tall and well built. He has a shiny slick black hair and a pair of onyx eyes. If you watch his eyes closely, you would notice some red hue in them which is kind of mysterious in a way. I will introduce you two in the future. Maybe you will get to like him, hehe." She giggled.
"Oh aunty. I am not here to find a boyfriend, hehe." I giggled in reply.
"Well you won't know for certain." Aunty May said. "This is Paris my dear. The city of love." She winked at me.
I rolled my eyes but giggled with aunty's expression.
"Well I will leave you to settle in." Aunt May said. "If you need anything just call me on my cellphone orp send a text message."
"Thanks aunty." I gave her a sincere smile.
"Your welcome my dear." Aunty May said and walked out and closed the door.
I once again walked out of the balcony and looked at the city before me.
"So this is where I will be staying for one to two years." I said with a smile. "Well Ana, let's do our best." I made a fist pump gesture.
I feel fired up with my new life head of me.
