I walked down the hallway, following a golden bunny. He promised me that there was a secret party only for me. I gladly followed after him as he continued to tell me the fake details of my "present".
"Where is my party at?"
"Do not fret small one, it's behind this door."
I shoved it open to see something my brain did not completely understand at the age of eight. I thought those kids were just asleep, waiting for me to get there.
The bunny locked the door and chuckled. I turned and looked at the bunny. He was holding a knife and the golden head was replaced by a man's. His hair deep violet, his smile wide, his eyes glazed over.
"Are you going to cut my cake?"
"Yes… and possibly you as well."
My body shivered. I finnaly realized I was going to die… only if I didn't fight. He took three steps forward and I darted to a dark corner. He chuckled again and stood in front of where I was hiding.
"Come on out love… it only takes a small second. You won't feel a thing!"
He reached out and dragged me from behind the cardboard box. He had ahold of my hair and tossed me onto a nearby table. I placed my hand down, only to feel a sticky, syrupy substance on my hand.
"Come now, be a good girl and stay still."
My eyes widened and I thrashed this way and that. I kicked my feet, and made contact with his jaw.
"Now that's not very nice!"
He lifted his knife and it tore through my rotor cuff. He brought it back up, and down on my medial epicondyle. The pain made my eyes water as I reached up and pulled his ponytail. His head jerked backward, long enough for me to slip off the table and out the door I unlocked. I ran down the hallway screaming.
"Help me! Stranger danger!"
My older brother, Leo, ran over and attended to my bleeding arm. A few people rushed away and a few others called police and paramedics. A little while later, the police did a thorough search and could not find the man, the suit, or the children. Out of the corner of my eye… I saw him standing there crying. He looked at me and held out his hand, as if begging me to take it. I snapped my head to look at him, but he was gone.
