Capítulo 107: Konoha's Crush

The birth of his son and daughter wasn't due for at least another week. Utakata could only act as a support for Kaname as mild contractions hit her each day, multiple times. She was miserable and tired - everything was irritating for soon to be a mother. The constant supervision put her on edge - Utakata did not let her leave his side, as the lack of sleep caused Kaname to faint several times last week.

She just wanted the pregnancy to be over with. Kaname was irritated with everything - all her favorite clothes were discarded into the storage seals, fevers struck her every time she walked for longer than a couple of minutes. Her ankles and feet were swollen and aching, food tasted somehow bland. The worst part for the woman was the lack of physical exercise - Kaname drastically reduced her workouts, the large belly containing two babies made even her walk look sluggish.

But she did not complain. Kaname was anxious and very eager to meet her babies.

That memorable night, her cry of pain woke Utakata up.

"It's beginning! I think my waters broke!" the pure terror on his face would make her laugh any other day, but painful cramps knocked any sense of amusement out of her head.

"... Right. The babies... Umm, breath, Kana-chan. Long and deep breaths." Utakata spouted the first thought out of his head, "Wait here. I will wake Izumi-chan up."

"FU...!" Kaname's body shuddered after another contraction struck. "Don't worry, Utakata, there is still plenty of time." she breathed out.

"Plenty of time? Right... Okay, be right back, Kana-chan." he nodded and bolted out of the room.

Once he was back with Izumi at his back, Kaname's sweaty hair was stuck to her face, "Is everything alright, Kaname-sensei?"

"Ye-Yeah. I never expected how painful the birth is, Izumi-chan. It feels like I'm getting torn from inside out. AAHHH!" It felt like a hot metal rod was crushing her abdomen. Utakata instantly ran up to her.

"Take it easy, Sensei. Don't push yet. We need to wait."

"AHHhhh!" She cried out, curling on the bed, clutching her belly. The constant pain impulses prevented her from taking breaths. Kaname started panicking when her throat just halted the air from coming down into her lungs for a long minute.

Utakata noticed her scared eyes and swiped the sweaty hair to the side of her face, "Breath, Kana-chan. We're here with you." he assured her in a calm voice.

"Haaa..." she took so needed gasp, "Shit, that was a strong one."

"Are you sure we need to wait? She is in pain, Izumi."

"Haah-haah... It's okay, Utakata. Izumi-chan is right." Kaname panted out.

"For how long?" he questioned, taking hold of Kaname's hand.

"Maybe minutes, maybe a day, Utakata-san. It all depends on the mother and the babies. We need to wait until the dilatation is right." Izumi explained.

"Will you be alright, Kana-chan?"

She whimpered after her back muscles tensed, getting ready for another hit, "... Yes, but I hope I won't have to wait for too long."

"I will ease your pain, Kaname-sensei. But I won't be able to hold for as long as you do." Izumi's hand lighted up in healing-green light.

Utakata was tired beyond belief in just three hours of Kaname's childbearing. It was the first time in his life that someone yelled at him so much. He understood and forgave her for the words she cried out in agony. Kaname's contradictory orders were challenging and exhausting for his brain. She would yell for him to leave her alone, and a moment later, cry out in pain, pulling his arm back.

"Sensei! Your... Your eye!" Izumi pointed at Kaname's face.

"Ugh... What is wrong with-"

'Чøય щเ১১ ๔iЭ. ԺЭـوՒお เક ㄈøૡૢૣเՈق. ㄏおЭ щøϑ১๔ щเ১১ ѢયϑՈ เՈ øયϑ щϑـوՒお.' It's powerful voice, sounding like an ancient bell, spoke in Kaname's head.

"Ah... Shit." her right eye was already half-covered in blackness, "Hoping that the fucker would stay silent if I was exhausted was too much to hope for. Utakata, plan B."

"But..."

"Please, do it for me. I'm not sure I will be able to hold It back."

"... Damnit!" putting some chakra into his hand, Utakata activated the seals inside the room, "If worst comes to worst, I will think of something. I won't fail."

"What the heck are you two doing?" Izumi shouted at them.

"Protection for all of us. No one leaves this room while the seals are active." Kaname smirked, "By the way, any idea on how lon- AAAHG!" she tasted blood after biting a side of her tongue.

With Izumi's quick help, the crisis was averted, "Not long, Sensei, we can start in five or so minutes. So what's the plan, Utakata-san? Knowing her, she thought of something stupid."

"... Haah-... Hey... I'm still here, you know?"

"Kana-chan was worried about losing her self-control again." Utakata explained, "You know what she holds. If It comes out, she asked me to kill her... Don't look at me like that, Izumi-chan. I said that I won't do it."

"*Sigh* Good job, Sensei. That one takes the cake of your most ridiculous and least thought-out plans."

"Yeah, I know..." Kaname replied wearily, "But it's hard to plan against something you don't know anything about or have any defenses for."

"We can start whenever you're ready, Sensei."

Utakata kissed Kaname's forehead, "I love you, Kana-chan."

"Heh, I love you too. Our babies are too comfortable in there. Let's get them out." Kaname nodded her head.

"Okay, with the next contraction, start pushing," Izumi replied.

Utakata felt the moment when the pain hit Kaname. His palm was tightly clamped in her own. The bones in his hand screamed with Kaname's cry of pain.

It took another thirty minutes of crying, screaming, and straining against her stubborn baby before the two soon-to-be parents heard Izumi's shout, "I see the head, one more time!"

"AAAAHHHHH!"

A small red bundle slid into Izumi's waiting arms. She quickly cleaned the crying baby and put him next to Kaname's face, "It's a healthy boy, congratulations. We will start with his sister in a moment to let you catch your breath, Sensei." Izumi talked to the shell-shocked parents.

Utakata and Kaname gawked at their newborn son. A small, pinkish-red baby, with cute black strands of hair and Utakata-like brown eyes, wriggled his arms and legs while taking his first breaths. "... Hehehe," Kaname laughed in pure happiness, cuddling her head with the baby's body.

"Son... Our son..." Utakata's finger brushed the baby's cheek. "He is so small..."

"He will grow..." she gasped tiredly, "Have you thought of a name for him?"

"Your father was called Asato, right?"

"Yes," Kaname nodded, "But I have a better idea. Haru [Tl. jap. Spring], after your master Harusame."

He kissed her forehead, "Yes, it sounds good. Whatever you wish, Kana-chan. How are you feeling?"

Kaname's face grimaced, "Not good, I hear It talking inside my head. I'm not sure for how long will I be able to hold It back."

"It's okay, Kana-chan. You don't have to worry. You're much stronger than some kind of fiend."

She opened her right eye, uncovering a void-like blackness filling it. "Just promise me you will protect them, Utakata. I have got one more baby to deliver to her father."

"*Sigh* Izumi-chan, let's finish it!" he called to the brown-haired woman cleaning her hands.

"Hold..." Izumi started.

"His name is Haru," Utakata informed her.

"Hold Haru in your hands, Utakata-san. I believe your daughter will have a much smoother delivery. Are you okay, Sensei?"

"Ugh, yeah... I feel another contraction coming. Let's do this."

Eight minutes later, despite the pain and labor, Kaname's trembling body was freezing, steady streams of black tears dropped from her closed eyes, "AAAHH! I cوՈ't do this..." she cried out, "Yes, reકt, slЭep. I need tø..."

"Don't you dare giving up now!" Izumi shouted at her.

"Kana-chan, don't listen to It. One more time, for our daughter." Utakata hugged her head but did not receive a reply.

"I see the head!"

Receiving the signal, he rocked Kaname's arm, "Now, my love!"

"AAAAHHHH!" after her last cry of pain, Kaname fell unconscious.

"I got her!" Izumi caught a second slimy baby in her arms, "Sensei?"

His son must have felt the worry of his father as the baby cried his heart out in the man's right arm. Utakata held Kaname's trashing body with his left hand, "She is freezing and has a seizure of some sort! The baby?!"

"Baby... Fuck. She is not breathing!" Izumi shouted, "I will need your help, Utakata-san. Put some blankets on Sensei, don't let her temperature drop, and come here."

"I'm sorry, Kana-chan." Utakata activated previously placed seals bolting Kaname's body to the bed with steel cuffs and sprinted to Izumi.

"Hold her for me. I will erase the liquid from her lungs!" the young woman ordered.

It took almost a minute before Haru's little sister's cry penetrated the freezing, overbearing silence.

"Haah... She will live. Wait. Where is Sensei?" the brown-haired Uchiha pointed at the empty bed.

"You should leave. I have got a plan." Utakata nodded his head, extending his waiting hand towards his newborn girl.

"But-"

"I will release the seals and let you out. Wait outside, I will call for you. You need to be something more than just a God of Death to hurt Kana-chan's babies. She won't allow it."

"Heh. Now that you said it. Good luck, Utakata-san."

-----

As worried for Kaname as he was, he couldn't help but look at his daughter. The brown-haired baby played with the rim of his blue kimono. Little Kushina had Kaname's eyes and nose.

"*Growl*." Utakata heard a low guttural sound originating from behind him.

'Are you sure it's a good idea, partner? She won't hurt the babies, but you're here as well.' His tenant questioned.

'Nope, not one bit, Saiken. But it's the only way.' he replied, turning around.

At this exact moment, he felt something prick the side of his neck. Turning his head, Utakata noticed pale-white fingers with black nails right beneath his face. It was Kaname's hand that stopped just a moment before it drew a sliver of his blood.

It was clear to Utakata that Kaname was fighting back for control of her body. He looked sorrowfully at her emotionless face, "I love you, Kana-chan. Come back to us - your family is waiting for you."

Her extended hand started trembling. At this exact moment, both babies must have noticed her mother and started patting her arm. The touch was everything that was necessary for Kaname to start puking black-oozy substance and trash in throes of agony on the ground.

-----

[A week later]

"Hokage-sama! It's Hayate- I meant it's Gekkō-san! He was attacked!" Yugao cried out.

"Did you get him to the hospital?!"

"They do not give him any chance. They're just trying to keep him alive for as long as possible."

"*Cough*. Did he say anything about who or why attacked him, Neko-chan?"

"No, Team Ro found him half-dead. Hokage-sama, can you contact Kana-chan or Sachi-san? They're the only ones that can help Hayate-kun now."

"No, but... Anbu!" Hokage called out. A masked man flickered and kneeled in front of his desk. "Find Genma and Raido, on the double! Bring them to the hospital!"

"You have got a plan, Hokage-sama?"

"We will talk later about it, Neko-chan. Let's get to the hospital first."

Five minutes later, two men entered the emergency room, "Hokage-sama, you called for us? Damn. Who did that?"

"We do not know, Raido-kun. I want you two to send Gekkō-san to Kana-chan using <Hiraijin no Jutsu> [Flying Thunder Formation Technique]. Can you do that?"

"We never tried to do it without Kana-chan in formation." Genma replied, "It's likely we can do that, but the chakra requirements would most likely knock us out, Hokage-sama."

"I see. I'm sorry, Genma-kun. Gekkō-kun requires your help to save his life."

"Hokage-sama," Raido interrupted old-man, "Kana-chan left. Do you know where we can find her?"

"Yes, she always has Minato-kun's seal with her. You should aim for the one in Kirigakure."

"Water Country? Welp, she traveled far. Let's do this, Raido."

-----

"... Where am I?" Hayate slowly opened his eyes, "Kaname-sensei?"

"You died, want to restart?" Kaname smirked.

"... Ugh." he groaned, "Sunagakure is going to attack Konoha. We need your help there."

"Hoh? Is Rasa going to betray us? That is unexpected."

"Yes, where are we? How long I was unconscious, Sensei?"

"A week at most. For now, you're safe. We're in Kirigakure."

"Kiri? We need to go now! Tomorrow are the finals!"

"Hehe, take it easy, Hayate-kun. Everything is going according to my plan. Rest for now, Hayate-kun."

-----

"I'm sorry, mommy, I-I lost," Hinata replied sadly, taking a seat between Hanabi and Shiori.

"Huhu, it's okay, Hina-chan. I'm proud of you." the black-haired Hyūga beauty hugged her older daughter, "You showed your prowess, nothing wrong about that. It's just that you got drawn into a fight against an ill-suited opponent. The Ice-release girl did a real number on you. Are Naru-chan and Sasuke-chan ready for their opponents?"

"Naruto-kun spent last month training with Jiraya-sama. He said he is ready for whatever Chōjūrō-san throws at him. Sasuke-kun is late, but he is training under Kakashi-sensei."

"Okay, hush now, I want to watch this fight, a desert rose versus a lazy Nara. Huhuhu."

------

"Is anything wrong, Hokage-san?" a man in a square green hat and a mask questioned the old-man.

"No-no, Rasa-chan. I just received a report that the opponent for your son has shown up."

"The Uchiha did? Interesting." His pale yellow eyes narrowed at the stadium floor.

"He doesn't look so good. Are you sure Gaara-kun is alright? The last time we met, you let Kana-chan repair his seal. It was so many years ago."

"Yes... Kaname-san's help was appreciated."

'Only if Rasa let Kaname do that. How far have you fallen, Orochimaru-kun... It's only a testament to my own failure as your teacher.' Hokage smiled at his younger disguised counterpart.

"I heard Sasuke was attacked by someone during the test. From what I know, now he has problems with anger issues." Sarutobi's face twitched at the jab.

"That's true. We had an unexpected guest in our midst. Everything is under our control, don't worry, Rasa-chan."

"Fufufu. Looks like Sasuke stole someone's taijutsu-skills. This is not the standard way of fighting for the Uchiha's."

"Your son is losing the fight. Is it not bothering you?"

"No. Gaara-kun can not lose."

"We shall see about that, Rasa-chan."

----

"What's wrong? Is that all you can do?" Sasuke's kick downed Gaara, making the auburn-haired boy crash into a pillow of self-created sand, "That sand armor of yours. I will rip it off."

Uchiha's speed was a reminiscence to the last time Gaara was hit by Lee in the semi-finals. Sasuke easily dodged beneath the swipe of claw made of sand and kicked the jinchūriki's chin.

Gaara took several steps back, looking crazed at the black-haired boy in front of him.

"Haah... haah, what, are you scared of me already?" Sasuke smirked, seeing his opponent hiding inside an orb of sand.

"The so-called absolute defense. Let's see which is stronger - your defense or my new jutsu." He jumped to the border of the arena.

Sasuke palm started expelling large quantities of lighting chakra. The ground beneath his feet was destroyed with every bolt that hit it. Slowly taking control of the powerful technique, the boy bolted towards the sand orb, "<Chidori>!" he shouted out, hand-stabbing Gaara's cocoon.

------

The stadium was filled with dropping feathers, making everyone present sleepy.

'A genjutsu?' Hokage's eyes turned towards Orochimaru.

"Shall we?" four jōnins with Sunagakure forehead protectors that stood behind the disguised snake Sannin, jumped with weapons drawn towards the elderly Hokage.

Expecting the attack, Sarutobi quickly dispatched the ambushers, sending them away from him, and pressed a small button hidden in his seat, four smoke bombs planted on the terrace exploded.

"Do it!" Orochimaru jumped to the roof and ordered his subjects like some-kind of an evil emperor.

The previously deflected four attackers drawn back to four squares of the Hokage's viewing platform. Flying through several hand seals, each one of them slapped their palms to the roof tiles. In an instant, an ominous dark-purple square made out of chakra covered the building.

"For the Sand to betray the Leaf... What's the meaning of this Rasa-chan?" Hokage calmly smoked his pipe.

"Fufufu. The stupid games end here. From here on out, I will change history."

"Do you want to start a war?"

"Sarutobi-sensei, stop playing around. I know you expected me here."

"Tsk... Let the old-man have some fun from time to time, Orochimaru-kun." Hokage shrugged.

"Your foolishness cost Konoha too much. Look how low it has fallen. Give up - it's over. None will be able to touch the Shishienjin [Four Violet Flames Formation] seal array, penetrating it is impossible. You're all alone."

"*Sigh*... Didn't I teach you that it's not over until your enemies are still standing?"

"Fufufu. You got old, Sarutobi-sensei. And I'm stronger than I ever was." With a swift tug, Orochimaru discarded his disguise.

"Hoho. Come Orochimaru-kun, I will show you that you shouldn't underestimate your old man." Once Hokage discarded his attire, Orochimaru noticed Sarutobi's trusted black armor on his body.

Their staredown was interrupted by the sound of someone knocking on a glass window. Both men turned their heads to the right, but their response was completely different. The old man sighed out as if a ton of bricks dropped off his shoulders.

"... Kaname Uchiha." Orochimaru hissed as the black-haired woman was waving towards him.
