"Ahhh!" This time however, the girl bolted back inside the room without any hesitation while Ace stood there dumbfounded by what just happened.
At this point of time, he really wanted to ask the system if it did anything to increase his charisma to attract women in a way he doesn't want to.
"Master, if I'm not wrong, she is one of the four geniuses I brought up and probably the one with the most talent among them all. At the age of thirteen, she may still be at the foundation realm, but only two months have passed and she has already opened up 147 acupoints and if things go well, it's bound for her to open up the hidden acupoints as well."
Shawn was nodding his head and listening, only for him to realise that the scream just now could have only belonged to the person the shadow just mentioned.
"Things will get interesting."
Ace stood outside of the door awkwardly as he tried to delete the image from his mind, but to no avail.
Just like that, he wasted ten minutes of his life doing something which he deemed impossible for the first time in his life.
"Creak!"
The door opened up as the gorgeous face once again appeared before him, her face was devoid of expression and a cold aura was eluding her. She was full of killing intent towards the man who had sullied her body with his eyes. Her glacier blade is sharp and ready to taste blood for the first time in its life.
"Miss, about that…"
"Speak again and I'll make sure to sever your tongue and blind your eyes with this glacier blade of mine, try me." She coldly retorted without even giving Ace a chance to speak before leaving the inn.
"Remember, my name is Charlotte and if we ever cross paths with each other again, I won't hesitate to kill you with my own sword." Without even giving Ace the chance to explain, she left behind an issue of death before leaving the inn.
Soon after, Ace heard someone climbing the stairs and the moment he saw the person, fury was in his eyes.
"Didn't you tell me that the first room on the second floor was for my usage? How do you explain what just happened then?"
"If you want to repay her, then remember that she is from the Snow family. Charlotte Snow, the number one sword expert of your generation, she would definitely be your strongest rival."
"I don't need you to teach me what to do, remember that we are only business partners that collaborate with each other for the sake of spirit stones."
"Hahahaha! Take this." Shawn laughed as he threw a pill before walking down the stairs, leaving the shadow speechless as it soon asked, "Isn't it too much for you to give him ten of those meridian cleansing pills?"
"That's the only way for him to catch up with her. You should know that since she's the strongest genius who has awakened the absolute zero constitution, there's only one way for her to stay alive."
"But isn't that child a fellow ice cultivator as well?"
"Yes and no, he's a dual cultivator."
Unwilling to waste any more time, he took out one elixir from the bottle and consumed it upon sensing the unique fragrance from it.
"Argh!"
"What's this pain?"
In just a moment, he had already broken out in cold sweat and he could feel his bones breaking, his veins were on fire and blood was gushing out from the open wounds on his body. His flesh was tearing and all he could do was let out silent screams in agony as scarlet dyed the glacier forming a comparison of crimson heat and freezing cold.
"Master, are you sure that he can handle the effects of the meridian cleansing pills ten times without losing his sanity? Even I was unable to handle it after six elixirs since the pain multiplied by two folds each consumption.
"He can, his heart and will is impenetrable. The only way he'll fall is in the hands of another enemy, one too strong for him to contend against. Losing to himself, would be something that would never happen to him."

After struggling in vain, all Ace could do right now was allow his body to twitch in pain as he resigned to his fate of trusting Shawn blindly. Suddenly however, he felt a strong regeneration force repairing his broken body.
His bones were mended and stronger than before, his muscles were more defined and were filled with explosive power, his blood was new but thicker than before to infuse him with energy, his veins were more durable and could contain more spirit energy in the future, his senses were sharper for sure and impurities were release in large chunks by his body.
Sensing the change in his body, he added the 5kg weights onto his body and did the same sword routine that would usually take him around three minutes for one set. But now, it only took him around two minutes and forty seconds while his attacks were sharper with impact.
Taking a quick shower in one of the rooms after cleaning up the mess he created, he headed downstairs to find Shawn.
"Boss Lou, do you have a way for me to fully activate the effects of the remaining nine pills?"
Is he courting death? The shadow lurking in the dark hesitated to inquire.
"You sure about it? If you attempt it, you would be the one to rewrite history but that might result in death. After all…" Shawn stopped, he really wanted to say that even he failed after utilising the effects of eight meridian cleansing pills.
As for the way to fully utilise their effects, it was to destroy the body, mind and soul while staying conscious enough until the recovery period starts. There was only to do that, bear the full brunt of all the meridian cleansing pills at once as they released their greatest demons into one's body.
It was a method Shawn came up with that resulted in…
"Boss Lou, can you assist me with the process?"
"What makes you think that I know what to do?"
The fact that you hold even more secrets than my master is more than enough. Ace held himself back from saying the truth.
"Because you are the one who gave me those pills as an apology."
"If you trust me that much, then consume this pill alongside with the other nine remaining pills that I've given you."
Shawn expected Ace to hesitate for a moment, but to his surprise, Ace did as he said without hesitation before he could warn him to be careful.
"Argh!"
Before he could even set up an array without Ace noticing to help him reduce the pain level, he had already consumed the pills he told him to.
Damn!
"Shadow, help me to set up the neutralisation array right now, as quickly as you can."
"But that means that…"
"Do it now!"
"Yes!" In just a few seconds time, an array was set up but despite that, it wasn't able to relieve Ace pain in the slightest.
His bones weren't just breaking, he could sense it being grinded again and again, restored and grinded without stop. His flesh was tearing and restoring at a speed so fast that the interchanging pain and relief was driving him crazy. His blood had already dyed the ground a full scarlet paint and his veins were being ruptured while mending.
If the initial pain he experienced just now was hell, then this would be a place where even hell pales in comparison for the amount of pain it can inflict onto one. It was a living hell for Ace but he still gritted his teeth.
His mind went fuzzy for a few times, but he still hangs on to the fact that he needed to figure out the truth behind his mother's story. He wanted to establish a sect and make a name for himself in the cultivation world. He wanted to challenge all those geniuses across the oceans and continents and maybe one day, he would leave this realm and enter the true cultivation world which he expects.
One where the strong tramples upon the weak, only that type of place will be worth his attention so that he can destroy that conviction and reshape the cultivation universe a piece at a time.
He wanted to be the one to solve the puzzle. He wanted to save the universe. He wanted to live and since he made this choice, giving up is not an option.
"Argh!"
Even so, this pain…
No, I won't allow it to drive me insane, this is just the beginning of my life, I can't allow it to end here yet!
