Capítulo 26: Reappearance of the Enemy

Editor: Atlas Studios

Above a desert tens of thousands of kilometers away from Feng Nation, a spiritual flying boat covered in white light tore through the horizon and moved towards a certain direction.

The skies were clear and the clouds white like cotton candy, it was so breathtaking that one could not help but admire the vista in front of them. However, the four people on the flying boat were clearly not in the mood to do so.

Han Li sat with his legs crossed at the end of the boat and his eyes shut tight as a thin layer of golden light swirled over his skin.

Liu Le'er sat beside Han Li and was similarly cultivating with a green hue ensconcing her.

Gu Yunyue and Yu Menghan, on the other hand, were standing by the bow of the boat. The latter turned around to glance at the back of the boat from time to time, her expression a little complex. The former continued to steer the flying boat with a faint smile on her lips as if she was in a pretty good mood.

It had been two days since the last attack. In these past two days, they had continued on their journey without stopping and had yet to meet with any further dangers. As the distance between them and the mountain where the Cold Fire Sect was located shortened, the happier Gu Yunyue became.

Some time passed before Han Li furrowed his eyebrows and opened his eyes. The golden hue around him sparkled for a moment before it dissipated.

In the past two days, he had tried various ways to break through the seal on his Nascent Soul, but to no avail. Instead, he wasted quite a bit of his magic. Even though he found two pills of similar level to the Rhyhope pill in that horse-faced young man's storage pouch, they had no effect on his magic reserves. This left Han Li dumbfounded.

Apparently, his condition was a lot more complicated than he had thought.

He shook his head, not wanting to think about it anymore and glanced at Liu Le'er instead.

The girl's aura was a lot better than before and it looked a lot like she was going to break through to advance to the late-stage of Foundation Establishment anytime now. This was also thanks to the bottles of pills found in the horse-faced young man's storage pouch.

Han Li nodded in his mind and he got up carefully to minimize any disturbance on the girl's cultivation. He then walked to a corner of the flying boat and glanced outside.

"Daoist Han, we just have to head west from here and we should be able to reach the sect within two weeks. When we do, the sect will naturally arrange for a better cave for you to heal from your injuries," Gu Yunyue said with a smile as she walked over.

Yu Menghan followed behind her master without a word.

"I'll be troubling you then," Han Li said with a nod.

Gu Yunyue was about to say something when a faint rustle sounded from ahead.

The three of them turned towards the sound, only to see the horizon suddenly turn into a large patch of darkness. Several giant tornadoes tearing through the skies were swirling about and a thunder-like boom rang from within as yellow dust filled the area.

Gu Yunyue furrowed her eyebrows, waving her hand to make a seal and the flying boat stopped.

At this moment, Liu Le'er had woken up from her cultivation and had walked over to Han Li with a shocked expression.

"It seems like a sandstorm. Is there something wrong?" Han Li asked softly after glancing into the distance.

"Daoist Han might not know, but we're at a desert called Huanglan Ancient Desert. Sandstorms are rare here, but once they appear, they will spread to the entire desert and will continue for the entire month," Gu Yunyue said seriously.

"Oh. Then we can just fly through it. Although the sandstorm isn't too weak, it shouldn't pose a problem to us," Han Li said with a furrow of his eyebrows.

"We naturally don't have to worry about the sandstorm. However, there are ancient mysterious bugs called Baneful Yin Flying Ants that are present here. They will appear once a sandstorm appears. Normal flying ants are not a threat, but this species of ants only appear in groups of millions and are extremely quick. Once they find something, they spray out a corrosive and poisonous mist and as long as it's not a magical treasure made by devil magic, one will find their spiritual power decreased significantly. Meeting them is a headache even for a high-leveled cultivator," Gu Yunyue explained seriously.

"How about we go around it?" Hearing this, Han Li pondered before asking.

His magic now decreased with every use, so he did not want to waste it on such a place.

After some contemplation, Gu Yunyue replied, "I'm afraid it will take at least a month."

Han Li caressed his chin, falling silent.

Gu Yunyue stared at Han Li, remaining quiet as well. Clearly, she wanted him to decide what they should do next.

"Daoist Han, you don't have to worry about these flying ants. You can leave them to me." A voice suddenly rang in Han Li's mind. It was Devil Light.

"Oh, you're confident that you can deal with them?" Han Li was enticed, as he asked Devil Light in his mind.

"Baneful Yin Ants are an ancient special species created by baneful Yin underground and the grievances of undead spirits. It is somewhat similar to us devils. I didn't think that they existed in this Spirit Imperial World as well. Although the ants may be hard to deal with, they are extremely afraid of attacks such as Summoning Devil Aural Tones. Although I lost about 90% of my power, it shouldn't be a problem to deal with these ants," Devil Light said with a chuckle.

"Alright, if we meet those Baneful Yin Ants, I'll have to trouble you," Han Li finally said after thinking for a while.

"Now that we're on the same boat, I will naturally do my best," Devil Light said indifferently, his voice slowly trailing off.

"It's too far to go around it. Let's pass through the sandstorm. If we bump into those ants, I have a way to deal with them," Han Li said to Gu Yunyue with an unchanging expression.

"Are you confident?" Gu Yunyue froze.

"Why? Do you not trust me?" Han Li smirked slightly.

"I didn't mean it that way. Since you have said so, you can probably handle it." Gu Yunyue hurriedly laughed as she stopped saying anything and made a hand seal instead.

The glow around the flying boat grew and morphed into a white protective barrier as the boat moved straight into the sandstorm.

In the next moment, everyone felt the light around them darken. All they saw was sand flying around everywhere and the wind howling like crazy as the sand particles ruthlessly hit the boat's protective barrier.

The flying boat immediately shook a little.

Gu Yunyue's hand gestures changed and she emitted a white ray instead that shone into the bow of the boat.

With a loud clang, the runes carved on the flying boat sparkled. The white protective barrier around the boat brightened even more and after stabilizing, it continued to fly forward.

When Liu Le'er and Yu Menghan first saw the raging sandstorm outside, they were still a little worried. However, as time passed by and they saw that the sandstorm was unable to break through the protective barrier of the flying boat, their worries slowly faded away and they started to admire the unique view around them through the white protective barrier.

Gu Yunyue focused on steering the flying boat, carefully avoiding the tornadoes as the speed the boat traveled at decreased significantly.

In the blink of an eye, they had flown about four hours through the sandstorm. They were rather lucky and had yet to meet those Baneful Yin Ants.

Han Li had his palms faced up as he stood by the bow of the boat calmly. However, there was a sudden blue glow and he looked in front of him.

"Daoist Han, what's wrong?" Noticing the change in Han Li's expression, Gu Yunyue was immediately alarmed.

"Daoist Gu, it seems like trouble has found us once more." Han Li glanced at Gu Yunyue, chuckling.

Gu Yunyue froze, not understanding what Han Li meant.

All of a sudden, a tornado changed directions and happened to fly towards the flying boat.

This tornado was extremely huge and barely ended at the top of the skies. A crazy gust of wind immediately swarmed the area and almost sucked the flying boat into its currents.

Gu Yunyue's expression changed and ignored what Han Li said as she immediately stamped her feet crazily.

The glow around the flying boat grew and it rushed forward, flying almost a thousand feet in that second and barely avoided that tornado.

However, before Gu Yunyue could let out a sigh of relief, the ground around them suddenly split apart and rays of golden light broke through to the skies.

The yellow rays immediately interlaced with each other, immediately forming a yellow circle.

A large prominent circle emblem appeared on the ground, its size about a thousand feet wide and looked extremely complex.

"An array formation!" Gu Yunyue's expression changed immediately.

All she felt was her sight blurring and the view around them changed completely. Their surroundings became a sparkling world, mountains all around them, yet the sky and earth were dazzling with a yellow color.

An indescribable strong pressure surged and surrounded them all over and immediately pulled the flying boat over. The white protective barrier around the flying boat immediately crackled and countless cracks appeared over the runes. It looked as if it would shatter any time now.

Seeing this, Liu Le'er and Yu Menghan could not help but cry out. Han Li reached out calmly and revealed a small yellow-copper clock treasure. It grew in size before it landed on the flying boat and covered Liu Le'er and Yu Menghan.

This small yellow-copper clock was a protective treasure found in the horse-faced young man's storage pouch and happened to be of use now.

Almost at the same time, with a bang, the white protective barrier around the flying boat cracked and the strong pressure overwhelmed it.

A flash sparked from the bodies of Han Li and Gu Yunyue, and the two of them withstood it.

The yellow-copper clock buzzed, its surface flashing non stop as it pushed back against the immense pressure..

"Could it be someone from the Sky Ghost Sect again?"

Although Gu Yunyue was able to force herself to stay calm, the crazy strength the array formation showed was not something normal Nascent Soul cultivators could do, so she started to panic a little.

Han Li laughed softly and scoffed, "Sky Ghost Sect? They're really persistent!".

Capítulo 27: Bearing Five Mountains, Suppressing Five Ghosts

The moment Han Li finished speaking, the space around them changed.

As a yellowish dust storm blew in the void, boulders appeared out of nowhere. There were about thirty of them and they were the size of millstones, arranged closely together as they surrounded the flying boat completely.

Gu Yunyue's heart skipped a beat. Before she could think properly about it, the surface of those boulders sparkled before they started to turn hurriedly and, with a howling pierce, they pounded at the flying boat.

The woman was shocked and reacted instinctively with a sword art. A black sword beam tore through the skies, immediately burgeoning in size to become more than a hundred feet long.

The giant sword twirled about and exuded a huge swath of black light as the light morphed into the vague shape of a dragon. Using its long tail, it smashed the nearest boulder.

There was a loud boom!

The boulder was barely smashed into pieces by the giant sword. However, the black sword was also damaged significantly as it spun and recoiled from the force as the glow on its surface diminished a little.

Gu Yunyue's body trembled violently and she took a few steps back in order to properly stabilize herself. Shock filled her eyes.

The force of one boulder took almost everything from a Nascent Soul cultivator. Noting the dozens of boulders that were falling towards them rapidly, her heart could not help but turn cold!

However, right at this moment, Han Li's calm voice rang out beside her.

"Protect the girls properly. Leave it to me."

Gu Yunyue only saw a figure flash past her, and Han Li had already jumped up from the flying boat. His hands sparkled with a golden light and his body turned around as he sent punches out to the void around him.

Bang, bang! Loud bangs trailed from all around and all of the boulders appeared to be simultaneously hit by a crazily strong force as all of the stones broke apart like an egg.

"Humph, you are indeed a strength cultivator!"

A man's cold voice trailed from the sky. His voice sounded hazy and made it hard for others to determine where he was.

Hearing the voice, Gu Yunyue finally regained her senses from the ambush. She kept looking around aimlessly, wanting to find the owner of the voice.

Hearing this, a scoff appeared on Han Li's lips. He turned around immediately, snapped his fingers and a green sword beam appeared out of nowhere as it pierced a corner of the yellowish sparkling world, causing it to explode.

Boom!

A strong explosion occurred in the void and a man dressed in a black outfit appeared with a stagger. The person's figure was on the buff and muscular side, and he had a squarish face and a short beard with surprise written all over his face.

"I didn't think that you're a sword cultivator too. With your Nascent Soul cultivation base, I'm sure you're not a nobody since you're able to see through my illusion. What is your name? Who is your master?" the man asked slowly, the shock on the man's expression easing away very quickly.

"It doesn't matter who I am. Dead people don't have to know too much." Han Li sneered.

"What a joke! I was only showing a little of my power, yet you're so full of yourself already. I'll vanquish you with my next move!" The man was deeply angered. He made a hand seal and yellow runes appeared on his body. His figure turned into a blur as he disappeared once more.

Seeing this, surprise flashed in Han Li's eyes.

The array formation the mysterious man made was extremely weird. He had probably sunken into a deeper part of the array formation and his consciousness was undetectable too.

However, Han Li harumphed and a golden hue covered his entire body. He planned to use brute force to break through the array formation and stop the other party from hiding anymore.

However, right at this moment, there was a sudden change.

The entire sky darkened and five giant figures covered with a black aura appeared, surrounding the flying boat.

Han Li's pupils constricted slightly as the blue glow in his eyes sparkled a little.

Under the black aura, there were five giant ghosts about forty feet tall. If one ignored the pair of curved antlers on their heads, they would look like enlarged apes. They had short, black fur growing all over their hides, their faces green with sharp fangs while their eyes were bloodshot. They looked extremely hideous, but their expressions were rather simple.

In every giant ghost's hands, they held onto a black mini mountain.

Compared to the five giant ghosts, Han Li and the rest appeared as small as ants.

Gu Yunyue's expression changed immediately!

The auras of each of the five giant ghosts was above that of her own and a layer of cold sweat immediately washed over her forehead.

As for Liu Le'er and Yu Menghan, under the strong and scary combined auras of the five giant ghosts, they were actually unable to take it and fainted immediately.

Growl, growl, growl!

The five giant ghosts growled loudly as their bloodshot eyes gleamed with murderous intent. They moved their ape-arms, before they threw the five mini mountains in their hands.

The black glow around the mini mountains enlarged and the mountains started to grow the moment they left the hands of the ghosts and stabilized at about a thousand feet wide. The ghosts growled as they threw the mountains towards Han Li and the rest of the group.

Before the giant mountains hit them, there was already a scary and alarming pressure that washed over them. The area around the flying boat started to ring loudly as the wind blew past rapidly.

Gu Yunyue almost wanted to exclaim out loud. With her remaining bit of rationality, she frantically took out all of her magic treasures and talismans and used them to create protective shields of all colors and sizes over herself and the two fainted girls.

However, Han Li only furrowed his eyebrows as his golden hands sparkled before he casually waved them towards the howling peaks.

There were five consecutive earth-shattering booms!

The extremely strong pressure spread out wave after wave. The entire yellow space rang loudly, the crazy distortion growing stronger and stronger.

Finally, the yellow space could not take it anymore. With a loud bang, the space shattered and they returned to the desert as countless yellow specks of sand blew around them crazily.

Han Li's strength caused a strong disturbance in the sandstorm within a hundred-foot perimeter of them and further reduced their surrounding vision.

Although the yellow space had been shattered and had now disappeared, the space was only formed via an illusion. The ground under them still glowed yellow as the array formation from before was still present.

The five giant ghosts were also still standing in the middle of the air, although their expressions were blank once more.

From out of the void, that man dressed in black appeared once more with a cold smirk on his lips. This secret skill of Five Ghosts Moving Mountains was hard to go against even for late-stage Deity Transformation cultivators, especially if they did not have any good magical treasures.

However, in the next moment, his smile froze and his eyes widened as he glanced below him in disbelief.

He watched as the five giant mountain peaks were stacked on top of each other like playing blocks and under the five mountains, Han Li was standing calmly in the void, looking extremely at ease as he carried the five mountains with one hand.

As for the flying boat under Han Li and the three women including Gu Yunyue, they were all safe.

Before he could react, Han Li opened his mouth indifferently and a ray of white stream poured out of his mouth.

The five mountains were blown away by the white stream, as if they were as light as feathers.

The surface of the mountains sparkled darkly, before they shrunk quickly and returned to their original sizes.

With one hand, Han Li flicked his fingers like he was flicking marbles.

Loud cracks rang out!

The five mini mountains were thrown back at the man one after another, the speed at which they traveled was incredible as they arrived in front of the man in a flash.

The man's expression changed immediately. The black glow around him growing as he hurriedly moved downwards and barely avoided the five mini mountains.

With a tremble, Han Li appeared in front of the five mini mountains like a devil. With another wave, the five mini mountains immediately stopped moving.

He turned his body and stomped twice on two of the mini mountains.

The two mountains immediately morphed into two blurry shadows, falling like shooting stars. The speed they traveled at now was at least twice of the one they had when they soared into the skies earlier.

The two mini mountains dazzled darkly, their size growing once more as they became two giant mountains in the blink of an eye. The sharp howling that came with it also became a scary ringing noise.

One of the mountains pounded downwards, while the other flew towards the man dressed in black.

There was a loud bang!

The former crashed on the yellow array formation mark.

The array formation immediately glowed dazzlingly bright as it tried to resist the force, but it was shattered by the giant and alarming pressure. With the array formation broken, the flying boat immediately regained its freedom. A strong gust of wind suddenly blew from behind them and the flying boat blasted forward.

As the other mountain flew towards the man, the man realized that he was being chased even before he touched the ground.

The man was immediately alarmed as he spat out a mouthful of blood. His body was covered with a bloody red glow and with a twist of his body, he turned into the shape of a snake before he flew out, his speed increasing exponentially.

Boom!

The black giant mountain landed on the ground and caused a mini dust storm.

The moment the giant mountain landed, that snake-shaped glow flew away as it moved against the ground before reappearing about a thousand feet away. The man's figure returned, his face already covered in cold sweat.

Before he could sigh in relief, a howl rang past his ears.

A shadow appeared over the man's head and another giant mountain was falling rapidly. The moment he looked up, the giant mountain was already barely inches above him. It was too late to avoid it.
