Her parents disagreed to the idea of letting their only child sleep with a man old enough to give birth to her.

They felt insulted and even scolded the man to never table such nonsense to them in the future.

After their rejection, things got worse for their business, to the extent that they started contemplating on maybe they should try the idea, since it's just once.

The man said to sleep with her just once and it's done.

Ella did not discuss the issue regarding their business with Tim and I. She acted normal like everything was in order, but despite us being young then, we've taken over our family' business and already heard of the problems their business was suffering from.

But the one thing Ella hated the most was being pitied. She could go through anything as long as the people around her never show signs of pity towards her.

We had no way to help without her finding out and misunderstood, so we decided to let her ask on her own before we do anything.
