Capítulo 12: Let's meet
Dev called Ador. She was working on a financial arrangement with fellow colleagues when he called. She did not have his number, so was surprised by his call. Her brows knitted together and she had a scowl on her face, when he said " Hi, it's Dev here. How are you doing? Are you at work, now ? Can we talk? " She listened every word carefully and before answering him, excused herself from the meeting.
At the corridor, she replied on a serious note" Hello, Mr. Dev. How are you? Am doing fine. Just going with the flow. Yes, yes, I am at work. If it is nothing urgent, can you call back during lunch? "
Dev was a bit taken aback. He had never heard a 'no' or a 'talk to you later' kind of answer from anyone. Whatever he asked for, he got. Bali, ensured that, always. This girl was getting on his nerves. He needed to teach her a lesson.
So he said, " Sure"
Dev was running at a loss in his business. He thought marrying her, will bring in some dowry. Since her father is a retired professor , may be he has saved money for his two daughters marriage. So if he gets some amount from there, things might smoothen out temporarily. Moreover, Raja had left him no face, so he could not ask Bali, for another hefty amount. His office could function with a bare minimum essentials for upcoming few months, after that his crisis would start.His hand began to itch, he slammed the table and smiled with a wicked grin. Poor Ador.
He called Ador, again during lunch. She was prepared this time, to answer him. She had gathered all efforts to hurt him by words, to keep her waiting, neglected, the man of her so called dreams..... While discussing, it came to a conclusion that they would meet after a week from this day of conversation and he would come to pick her up. He also said, not to keep Unma at home and tag her along. Ador was touched. She agreed.
Dev had other plans.....
