Capítulo 6: Devil Fruit
One the poneglyph the requirement for the making of devil fruits were: fresh human brain and heart, sea stone dust, 8-month-old fetus, and seed of a fruit. That was all what was written for the making of devil fruit, but Max with being in contact with the supernatural things when in soul realm could form a theory on how those things create devil fruit with his creative mind.
'If my assumptions are right then human brain and heart is the key to a being's soul. The power of each devil fruit is the manifestation of something that has deep connection to a being soul. For example, let's say the man was burned alive, and his brain and heart were taken right after, then the power of devil fruit might be something similar to fire-fire-fruit.'
'Sea stone is something unique to One-piece world, although among the novel I have read in my past life, there are mana stone but they are usually meant to be the energy of the heaven and not something that is deeply connected to its own world. Sea stone might be an essence of this world, something that is deeply connected to this planet. Maybe the use of sea stone dust is to connect it to this system. If there is such thing as heaven's will then sea stone dust might be able to bypass the security system as the devil fruit will have similarities to sea stone which is the essence of this world.'
'Next is an 8-month-old fetus. When taking the brains and hearts of a person, it also takes a piece of the beings' soul and something connected to it. But the soul has already matured and taken a shape. Like how I have seen in the river soul, the shape of the soul is determined by its previous life. If so, an already mature human with the soul shape of human will have significantly hard time adjusting to a different shape compared to the fetus where its soul shape is only beginning to take shape and is easily modifiable. And since the brain and heart only contain small soul then it's like pouring an ink over a black canvas. The fetus soul with be completely empty to be filled with another small portion of soul. This creates a desirable complete soul with its intended affect.'
'Next is seed of a fruit. If the sea stone is only the connection to spiritual part of this world then the seed of a fruit is the physical connection to this world. They also need to intake the fruit to get the power so something like fruit which can be eaten is much better option than a piece of metal. It is also easily obtained and controlled.'
'Although I do not know the exact formula to create devil fruit, I can guess it. A fresh human heart and soul along with fresh fetus mixed with dust of seas tone to create a smoothie like substance. Then if the seed of a fruit is left to soak in the blend it might obtain the properties which qualifies it to become a devil fruit.'
'Next in list of mysteries is how is different categories of devil fruit are created. Zoan fruit is most likely created with the brains and heart of the animal, and the ancient and mythological zoan fruit might just be because of deep desire of such animal. Like a normal wounded bird might have instinctual desire to heal faster and never die, then when the devil fruit with its property is created then Bird-Bird fruit model: Phoenix of Marco of whitebeard crew might be created.'
'Next is how is logia and paramecia are differentiated. Like how when making fire-fire fruit it is a logia fruit but others like straw-straw fruit is categorized as paramecia. Although most paramecia fruit is understandable like rubber-rubber fruit, like how can you make rubber into a logia fruit.'
Stopping at that Max took a while to recollect his thought. He is already mentally tired with all the unexpected surprise that he experiences in last hour, but the desire to solve the mysteries of devil fruit kept him from sleeping.
'If we look at logia fruit as an upgraded version of paramecia fruit then it makes sense. Since sea stone is used to create all devil fruit, and it is the spiritual connection to the world. Then if the world itself is seen as a giant database then it can be explained. For example the fire-fire fruit at its creation only allowed its user to produce a fireball, and not have any property of logia, but trying again to create a second fire-fire fruit will not create a new devil fruit because that 'thing' already exist in the world database as such it will diverge the power into an already existing fruit. This allows the fruit to slowly get powered until it is powerful enough to physically affect body of user and give it properties of a logia fruit.'
'Now comes the question on why the devil fruit doesn't just disappear after being eaten. Is it because it is now connected to the spirt of the world, so the soul of devil fruit doesn't get the chance to go to river of souls? Or is it because the soul has become polluted that river of soul doesn't accept it? Well no matter which one the soul embedded on devil fruit is clearly closely connected to this world so when its user dies, the fruit reincarnates in the same world, so the fruit doesn't disappear after eaten.'
'Another thing is why is paramecia devil fruit user usually the most powerful in the later stage. Like Whitebeard, Big Mom, the 2 Yanko have paramecia fruit instead of logia fruit, and the other 2 Yanko also don't use logia fruit. Although Blackbeard did come in as a Yanko later, his Dark-Dark fruit can barely be classified as logia fruit, as it doesn't even allow user to turn into darkness. It also seems to gain property of another devil fruit, so Blackbeard fruit is a unique fruit that doesn't seem to follow the usual path. Although I am curious how Dark-Dark fruit have those properties I will deal with it later.'
'If I go on my previous comparison with ink and canvas, I guess it make sense. As more power is added to the devil fruit, more ink covers the canvas as such the 'free' space of canvas slowly decrease. Although it does give the logia user very powerful power, due to lack of 'free' space in canvas the logia fruit users cannot develop the fruit a lot. Compared to that the paramecia fruit only has a small portion of ink in the canvas leaving a lot of 'free' space which allows the paramecia more option to expand the devil fruit power in its desired path and further develop the fruit power compared to logia fruit user.'
'Another thing is if the devil fruit is made from sea stone then why does sea stone counter it. Is it because the sea stone became corrupted unlike its original. So although it is still connected to the world spirit it is also different and became like cancer. So the world is trying to resist with its pure sea stone. Well that explain it to some degree.'
Finishing his thought Max laid down on his bed to give himself some mental rest, but not before activating his sleeping magic to further develop his power.
