Instead of getting reprimanded right then and there, they were made to wait till the other teachers returned. Alex just chatted with Draco and surprisingly Harry who asked him about the Oni. He could ask Christian later about the Troll. Apparently, another creature had been released in the hallways.
It was a dead griffin. As in resurrected griffin that moved about with magic. Ron, Draco, and Harry came across Professor Snape stopping the creature. They only got a look at it before it disintegrated.
"What you all did was brave but very stupid." Professor Snape said. He eyed Draco and chastised the boy. "To think you would leave the safety of the Prefects instead of staying with the rest. You could have been killed."
"Sorry." Draco said. He put his head down until Alex elbowed him. Alex held his head up and gestured for him to do the same. "But I wanted to help. Anyway, I could. I would have run if I saw anything and told a teacher. I did spot the girl Hermoine didn't I?"
"Yes, you did Draco." Professor Flitwick said.
"That is beside the point." Professor McGonagall said. "-5 points will be taken from Slytherin for your behavior."
"Pft." Alex let out a chuckle.
"As well as -25 from Ravenclaw."
"Meh." Alex shrugged. "Hahaha." Laughing out loud a moment later, Alex remembered in the actual series they were given points. Now they had additional taken away. "Welp they are going away very quickly. Next time let the student die and property get destroyed. That is the message loud and clear." He did a finger bang towards Professor McGonagall.
"Enough Alexander." Dumbledore said. "I understand you all have been through a bit of an ordeal and that has been taken into consideration. We need to discuss your behavior. The incident with the ghost."
"Eh, they threatened me. I responded in kind."
"But to kill an innocent ghost." Professor Sybill Trelawney said. She was the head of Soothe Saying and the like in Hogwarts. Something that was very downed played despite the amount of shit that happens in the series. As the Head of Divination, she could have figured out a lot of things. "Those in Hogwarts are pretty harmless."
"Says you." Alex said. "I do not trust them. They are dangerous and should not be allowed free reign. Besides, there are no rules forbidding what I did."
"Because there are no rules when comes to that." Snape added.
"Not my fault. Sounds like a lapse in the school rule department. If you ask someone to leave you be in the muggle world, they either do it or get punched in the face. And if you get really bad with it, jail or restraining order." Alex shrugged. "You may have forgotten about it since you cast off your ties to the muggle world." Snape face soured at that.
"Haa from now on, do not kill ghost." Dumbledore sighed. He could tell Alex was stubborn and would not budge. "Your attitude is something that needs work."
"Then I guess I should change schools. Durmstring or Dumstrang, whatever the hell its called might be better. They do however tend to produce dark wizards. That does not sound fun actually." Alex mumbled.
"No!" Professor Sybill said quickly and loudly. The rest of the people in the room were shocked at the usually squirrely woman's outburst. "I.. think you should stay here. In fact, I think he should be made to study a little more in Divination. He is a hard working student and just needs guidance is all."
"I think extra work would be in order." Professor Snape agreed. "As well as you Christian. From what I understand you had quite the field day in the bathroom. It will take a lot of work to fix it. You will help with repairs around the school. In fact all of you will."
"I am not." Alex shook his head. "I fixed most of the damage after dealing with the Oni. Professor McGonagall told me to stop so... yeah no. Time has passed so it is even harder for me to fix it. As for the rest of the school.. no way. Blasted staircases keep making me late."
"Are you disobeying?" Snape loomed over Alex.
"Hah!" Stretching the floor with his wand, Alex was at the same height as Snape. "Punishment must fit the crime, little Half Blood prince. This does not fit the crime at all. No one died, and only the bathroom damage was a little excess. Both things that could have been avoided if someone did not let those creatures in. You want us to help fix the school as punishment, fat chance. Who else knows what else looms in the halls."
*Flick!* Christian destroyed the platform Alex was standing on. He grabbed his friend who fell and covered his mouth.
"Do forgive him, he is cranky as he is hungry. Fighting the creatures tired him out. Maybe we can finish talking about our punishment later?" Christian asked receiving a nod from the others. "Right, thank you." Dragging Alex away, the others followed.
"You are down right rude." Ron said. "Professor Dumbledore is one of the most respected in his field."
"He also.." Alex was about to say something till Christian covered his mouth again.
"Hehe just let it go Ron. For your own safety. Head back to the dorms while I talk to Alex." Christian said politely. The others left leaving Christian and Alex. Draco wanted to say something but decided against it. "Ok that went well."
"Meh I could have pissed them off more, but you stopped me." Alex said after making a sound barrier spell. "It eases making them angry and focusing on me. Definitely will help take the focus off you. Did you map the place out well yet?"
"A little. But the stuff you gained from the ghost was nice. Are you done with her yet?" Christian asked taking out a rolled-up piece of paper.
"Nope. Will be in a few days or so." Alex thought about it, and calculated the time frame. "At most three more days as there is something locked away I want." Taking the scroll, he gave Christian a piece of paper that had the sealed Oni inside. He transferred it when they were waiting to speak with the Headmaster. "By the way, how is your friendship with the "chosen one" going?"
"Not bad. The kid is alright. Just Ron is a little.. fixated on wizard traditions. But Harry is very easy to talk with. Oh here is the plan for the Unicron problem. I will make sure to end up getting in trouble to help with that. You just need to sneak into the forest." Christian handed a scroll over that Alex absorbed into his wand. "That is still a hard spell for me. Glad no one hear knows Klingon." Christian tapped the piece of paper and read the words.
"Yeah... anyway later. I really am hungry and sleepy." Alex walked out the bubble and went to get something from the dining hall. Stopping halfway he forgot to ask Christian to find out about the dead Griffin. "Oh well time for that later. Huh?"
In front of Alex was a girl. She had some snacks in her hand as she moved. She was eating them very fast. As if afraid they would disappear at any moment. The girl spotted Alex and waved. He waved back and watched her go on her way. Moving to the hall doors, he was surprised they were locked.
"Oh for hell's sake." Alex kicked the door frustrated and left. He was going to bed hungry. Something he hated doing. Making it to the dorm he was happy that his roommate was a no show. Far as he could tell the boy did not sleep in the same room as him. Which made Alex happy. Finding a box on his bed, Alex read the card. "I know your secret."
Flipping the card over, Alex didn't find anything else weird at first. So he waved his wand and chanted a spell. Letters appeared on the card. "Do not fight the change." Slowly images appeared of a female student appearing in his room.
As well as a teacher he thought. Looking close, he saw it was the nurse from before instead. Her eyes were glossy and looked to be controlled dilated. The box came from her, but the note was placed by the girl.
"Tch, I need to work on mind control spells more." Alex clicked his teeth and opened the box. Inside was a shrunken head. It looked to be a reptile of some kind. On closer inspection, Alex just called it a Gargoyle head. Running his and over it, he was surprised it reacted to it. "What in the heck is this?"
"We.. are waiting.." A voice called out. It came from Alex and would have made him jump out of his skin if wasn't so tired. "Be.. safe.. heir.. of.." As if the magic that sustained was no more. The voice stopped. Alex waved his wand over it again. Nothing happened. Picking it up, he was not ready for his Magic Siphon to activate on its own.
"Aaahhh!" Screaming in pain, he collapsed exhausted onto his bed. Vivid dreams plagued his thoughts again as he slept.

-Sybill Trelawney Room-
.
She was looking over a large mirror. But she was not alone. Inside was the nurse from before, still dazed and under control. The female student from before was there watching the mirror as well. The mirror tried to focus on Alex's room but couldn't see past the charms he had placed on the bed.
"Are you sure it is him?" Sybill asked.
"Yes. I have followed since the train and talk with other students." The female student said. "His desk mate spoke about seeing scales on his arm as well once. But he thought it was just a rash. I wiped his mind of the incident all together."
"That is good." Sybill said. "We need Alex on our side, I cannot draw attention to myself and continue to play the slightly mad woman. Haa I wish he would have taken my offer. But it sounds like he does not want the extra work." As if struck by a sudden realization, she looked to her student. "He doesn't want the extra work if it is forced. But he is always studying and practicing. Deliver this to him. I leave it up to you to determine how." Handing over a small crystal ball no bigger than a golf ball, Sybill stared at the nurse. "Well.. cannot let you keep that knowledge and cannot let you tell anyone else."
*Fwoom!* In a flash of light, a spell launched from Sybill's wand and surrounded the nurse. A specter formed and entered the woman's body taking over.
"Much better. Your freedom is yours just keep her on our side." The nurse nodded and walked off. She would return to her work none the wiser. Looking at the mirror again, Sybill shook her head in dismay. With the protection head with Alex, she would have been able to pierce the veil of magic in the room. "How strong is that protection charm?"
"Later mom." The student left her mumbling mother to her work.
*Thunk!* The door slammed shut knocking Sybill from her stupor.
"Oh, she left already. Damn it. I didn't get any hugs. After all these years I still can not get things right with my children. Haaa what to do?" Sitting down Sybill thumbed through a book by the nightstand. Going through several pictures of a family of four. "So many lifetimes, so many things that go wrong. But this time things will be different. Alex is the key to my son reviving. I just know it."
*Woosh!* A quick gust of wind poured into the room, sending several books onto the floor. Sybill closed the window shutters and locked them. Walking over to clean up the mess, she paused at several pieces of paper that were curled up. She stepped back and climbed her ladder to see.
"It cannot be..." Sybill muttered. Below was a coiling snake with wings. The oddest things were the different pages that made them up. At the head were pages from a transmutation book. The next was a book on exotic potions. "What does this.. mean.. ughh." Sybill's body was wracked by a vision so powerful she could feel her back pop. "Ugghhh!"
*Thump!* She fell from the ladder and landed on her chair not to far away. Body convulsing from the ever increasing vision. Cold sweat wracked her body as she tried to control it. A few minutes later she stooped moving. Her hair went from a dirty blond to a silverish white.
"Ahh, I cannot let Alex leave this school. It would spell doom for us all." Sybill moaned as she stood up. She stopped when she noticed her hair in the mirror. "My hair! My face!" Old wrinkles disappeared as she looked a few years younger. She had no idea what to do. She received a little power from her Divination's, but nothing like this before. "Alex just who are you? Are you friend or destined to be foe?"
.
-Three days later-
.
"Look at the Squib work away. So disgraceful." A student said. He and his buddies taunted Filch. Filch was a child born without magic. A crockedy old man now from the constant disgrace imposed upon him.
A Squib, was a possible wizard/witch-born non-magical person who is born to at least one magical parent. They are rare and are looked upon with a degree of disdain by some witches and wizards, particularly pure-bloods. Muggle-born witches and wizards are descended from Squibs who married Muggles. The odd thing it was basically magic skipping a generation or three.
"Hah!" Alex sighed and walked over to Filch. He thought the stuff was stupid, since people born without magic were common in the muggle world. In fact what the hell would wizards do if they lost their magic themselves? Taking out his wand, Alex cleaned the man up. And fixed his clothes. "Mr.Filch... why do this to yourself?"
"What's it to you!?" Filch yelled at Alex. A bunch of the other students stopped what they were doing and stared. Seeing his mistake, Filch wanted to get away. Alex was not having that.
"Okay then. Why not fix your problem? There are ways to use magic with out having magical inclination. Countless curses that would allow you a type of magic." Alex just looked the old man over. "You come from a wizarding family line but have no magic. That in itself is stupid. Especially with people with your condition having birthed children that could use magic."
"Bah, boy do not taunt me." Filch said. Seeing Alex's serious face he dared to hope. "You are from the Ravenclaw line yes?" Alex nodded. "Your kind are known for their word. That and some other things, if you are true to it, I will help you. With your navigation problems in the school."
"Ah yes! Thank you very much." Alex pulled out a piece of parchment and handed it to him. It had questions about the man's diet and family history. Filch filled it out quickly. Before leaving Alex pricked his finger and dripped it on the parchment. "There, copy for you and myself. When I write on my half it will show up for you."
"Bah, whatever you say." Filch walked away with a small smile. Not really believing Alex, but happy that someone cared enough to try to help his problem. 'That boy is something else.'
"Alex .. you think you can help him?" Christian asked.
"Yeah. His magic might just be clogged up like most. I know a few ways to help bring it to the surface. A few unordinary spells and rituals. But it will be painful and very difficult." Alex said lowly. He and Christian had started to walk to their next class. "If it works, you won't have to worry about the cat anymore."
"You are a lifesaver bud! I swear it has been following me!" Christian said a little to loudly. He turned to make sure this was not the case right now. "Phew all clear. Are you having fun though Alex?"
"As much fun as I can. I know you are definitely having fun." Alex saw the smile on Christian's face and said no more. Entering the classroom, they took their seats and waited for the class to start. 'Hmm?' Alex turned to see a girl staring at him. He gave her a wave before pulling out a book to read. 'She looks familiar. Why can I not find that girl who entered my room though?'
