Capítulo 65: Unwelcome Visitor

Ra felt sticky covered in Basts' love nectar. His eyes glossed over as his breathing settled into a steady rise and fall. When Gwyn and Morrigan returned they immediately settled at the foot of the bed like large cats and entered the realm of dreams. Ra smiled, he'd almost forgotten what it felt like to have a family. His chest swelling with emotion, Ra closed his eyes and dreamt. The sound of a mighty horn blew, a long stirring blare shook his soul. His eyes cast about wildly, "My sword, where is my sword!" he spotted it on the floor halfway out of its scabbard. He snatched it up and ran to the entrance of his tent. Outside, signs of battle had already reached the camp, fires blazed all around him, and in the confusion friend mistook friend for foe, blades slashed indiscriminately as survival took precedence in their minds. Rooted to the spot, Ra looked around as if in a daze, "A dream, this must be a dream." he thought just as an arrow embedded itself in the wood of the tent beside his head. He ducked, perhaps too late since if the arrow had struck him he would already be dead. He sprung into action, pulling the sword from the scabbard and tossing it to the ground. The sword was silver inscribed with golden runes, he felt its divine aura and knew it for what it was. "Arcane Blade," he held it before his eyes in awe, but he had no time to admire it, brown skinned beast-like men tore through space, a massive rift ruptured the blue sky and they charged through riding atop beasts that ran on air with lightning hooves and piercing blue eyes. Panic gripped Ra deep in his heart, and his courage wavered, but he steeled himself and held the sword aloft, "COME!" he roared and dashed into their ranks, and as one they swung. their blades and struck his mortal flesh. An unearthly scream was ripped from his chest as burning divine flames engulfed his soul. Injecting into his blood stream it began to devour his life force and with a start- he woke up. The sheets were soaked and Basts face was pale with distress as she she gazed worriedly at his glistening face tears filled her eyes. Seeing that he had awoken she fell into his arms and hugged him tightly. "I was so scared," she sobbed. "Shush, I'm fine..." he assured her. She shook her head, "No! I yelled for you to wake up and you didn't, you were screaming, I thought..." but she never said what she thought. Ra knew it must have been pretty bad. "I'm fine now," he said, and forced a smile on his face and stretched, "c'mon, the beds wet, get up." But Bast shook her head vehemently, "Not until you tell me what made you scream like that." she said in a tone that would brook no argument. Ra shrugged, "It was just a dream, Bast." he said softly, but Bast once again shook her head, "That was no dream." she whispered softly. Ra shrugged and did not elaborate, instead he nudged Gwyn with his foot. Gwyn was slow to rouse, a single eye opening lazily to descry the owner of the foot raking against his scales. "Father, do you like your foot?" Gwyn asked in his deep mellow voice. Ra grinned, "It serves," he answered. "Then in the hopes that it continues to do so please remove the offending appendage from my scales." Ra stared into Gwyn's silver eye, Gwyn stared back. Ra removed his foot. "Thank you." Gwyn's upper lip lifted, exposing his newly formed teeth. Ra knew he was laughing.

Morrigan had also awakened, she stretched her body to its fullest length. Her wings extended, Ra could see every inch of the slim, powerful form. Bast suddenly slipped from under the covers, exposing her naked body to the morning air. Light a flash of lightning Morrigans wings blocked his view, enraged- he demanded, "Why'd you block me?" he shouted, lower than normal but still loudly. Morrigan raked him with a scathing glare, "You've seen enough," she sneered as she stood in a fluid, graceful motion her movements were like those belonging to an acrobat as she moved closer to his face, concealing Bast from view. As she drew nearer she was practically right on tip of him, she nipped his nose and folded her wings an elegant smile defining her features. Bast stood behind her fully clothed looking at them strangely, and Ra could have sworn he heard her mutter "Spoiled." under her breath.

Ra chuckled while shaking his head, he gave Morrigan a kiss on the head, shot Bast a meaningful look, and she nodded. "Come along, Gwyn," he said, and teleported them to his room. "ow!" Ra had teleported himself and Gwyn to his bed, Gwyn was apparently unlucky, popping into existence right on top of a surprise visitor. Gwyn roared and sprang off the bed, he pivoted in a full circle, his wings spread wide and his lips pulled back in a savage snarl. Meanwhile Ra was gaping with a stunned expression at the young woman wincing and rubbing her leg in front of him. "Xaria..." Ra's expression darkened, "what are you doing here?" he asked coldly. Her face fell, clearly this wasn't the reception she was expecting. "I thought- you might be missing me," she beamed. Ra was not amused. "Leave, now." he said coolly, and teleported out of the room.

"Merlin!" Ra yelled loudly as he banged on his best friends door. "Open up, damn!" he resumed his banging until he door swung open to reveal Merlin standing in his nightwear, clearly he'd just woken up. Ra paid no attention to this and pushed past him. Merlin looked grumpy but he forced a smile on his face and closed the door. "What's up?" he said gritting his teeth. "hm? oh," Ra didn't give a clear answer which made Merlin want to pull out his hair and throw them like golden missiles at Ra's face. Ra opened a spatial gate absently, and Gwyn charged out. Merlin stared curiously at the thing currently making a mess of his room. "Ra? the fuck did you just let loose in my room?" "Dragon." Ra said simply. "Dragon?" "Mn." Ra nodded to show that he'd heard correctly. "The ones we're at war with? those Dragons?" Ra's eyes grew cold as he finally turned his head to look at Merlin.

"What war?" he asked softly, "because if you're referring to the mindless slaughter we engage in outside these walls I'll have to ask you to have your head examined. This isn't a war, it's murder, we've been lied to." Stunned into silence Merlin could only watch as Ra resumed his pacing, "But that isn't the current problem,' Ra said suddenly jarring him back to the present. Merlin's maintained a calm exterior in response, "then tell me, what is the problem?" A flicker of annoyance, "This..." Ra waved his hand and a gate opened above Merlin's bed, "...is my problem, Merl." and a beautiful young woman was sucked through the gate and collapsed on Merlin's bed. Gwyn snarled at the newcomer, it was clear he didn't like her. Ra felt a flash of irritation. "Speak, Gwyn, you're not an animal." "I am not my sister," said Gwyn, "I prefer a more... instinctive- means of communication." Merlin was shocked when he heard this, "Sister? There's another one?" Ra nodded and waved his hand dismissively as if it were of no importance at the moment. "My problem..." Ra said growing ever more irritated as he saw Merlin getting distracted by these trivial matters. "I leave her to you, please deal with her. C'mon, Gwyn." he said and teleported back to his room.
