Capítulo 69: Tarnell root 69

I was so happy to have Ax back. All day I wanted to be in his arms.
I kept serving him tea to drink. I tasted it and it was bad. How could anyone drink that stuff.
We finished our work and before leaving the office I tried to give him a kiss but he pushed me away.
He sat away from me all night and I had the feeling something was wrong.
Then as we got in bed I wanted to be close to him. "It is so good to have you back."
"Please sleep on your own side." He said pushing me away.
I could see something in his eyes was not right. "Ok, Is everything alright?"
"I can't do this. Can you maybe sleep somewhere else right now."
"Why?" The pain his words cause ripped through me.
"I can't sleep beside you. Please leave." He yelled.
I walked out. I could feel tears forming on my cheeks. He hates me. I go to Daisy's room and Lay down. I slept here while he was gone and we were use to being near each other before we came here.
The next morning I went in to get my things to find them all on the desk in the living area. He removed me from the room. There was a note.

Don't come to my office. I no longer need you as my assistant. If possible please find another place to go.

I left the things he bought me and only took my old clothes and leather bag.
"What's going on?" Adam asked.
"I was ask to leave. I'll send for Daisy when I find work. Could you please watch over her. She likes you." I say with tears in my eyes.
"Tell me what happened." Robert said.
I handed him the note. "I don't know what I did but he asked me to leave."
Robert whispered into Adam ear then left the room.
"Sit and lets talk about this." He said.
I sat looking at my hands. I was the unclean one. It was just a matter of time before Ax would see this and turn him away and he knew it. He just hoped that he would keep his promise of taking care of Daisy.
"Where are you going to go?" Adam asked.
"I'll find a place to earn money. I'll try not to go back to being a thief. Kinsley is a big town. I'm sure they have a place I can work at. I'm good at pleasing men."
"Are you talking about going back to a whore house?" Adam asked.
"Yes, I can't do anything else."
"You were a great assistant. I know of someone in need of one. His assistant wants to retire. Come with us to the capital. Daisy can cone with you now."
"Really, why would you help me if your son hates me now?" I ask.
"Because he loves you and I know it. I don't know what is going on now but he loves you."
He helps me pack the rest of my things and Daisy's things. Then we went into town to rent a wagon.
When We get back there was a note.
Adam,
Our son has been poisoned by tarnell root that is why he was turning against Lae. He even turned against you. They have no mulling berries here so I am taking him home so Lillian can treat him.
Tell Lae it was not him it was the tea. I think Jillian was behind this. Follow with Lae and Daisy please.

"What is tarnell root." I ask.
"It is a weed used to harden ones heart against the thing it loves the most and makes you love the one you hate. If not treated with in five days then the side effect are permitted." Adam explained.
"So it was this tea and not Ax that asked me to leave." I ask.
"Yes, Lets leave your stuff here for right now and take three horses. It will be faster then a wagon. We can be back in the Capital by morning this way." Adam says.
'What about Jake and the bunnies?' Daisy asked.
"We can bring them along to." He said grabbing a bag to put the bunnies in.
We traveled until it got really dark and made camp. Daisy was scared so I held her all night. I was tired but could not close my eyes.
The next morning it was still dark the sun did not come out and it looked like rain. We hurried along to make it before it started pouring.
Just as we set foot in the Castle doors the rain came down. Robert was there with a worried look on his face.
Ax was missing.
My heart dropped. The poem came back into my mind.
'When the Sun hides it's self in the day.
A friend will betray a friend I say.
Death will knock but only once.
Be smart and think don't be a dunce.

While the others were gathered in the kings study I slipped out.
I needed to be and think like a thief. A thief when caught ended up in a cell. I head down to were I think dungeon cells could be. I hear someone coming and hide. As they come around the corner I see Jillian. She has a key in her hand.
I use my power to distract her and she drops it.
"Sh*t, what was that. Where did I drop that key. It's to dark I'll have to come back with a lantern." She said.
I held the key in my hand. I work my way down.
'Ax can you hear me?'
I listen nothing. I need help after going through all the cells and not finding him then I remember Daisy.
I rush back up to find her.
'Dasiy I need your help to find Ax'
'How?' she asked.
'I need you to follow our heart string.'
'Ok wait for me.... Papa Adam.'
"Yes Daisy"
'I can find him'
"How?" Adam asked.
'Heart string'
Adam smiled He knew what she meant and left the room with her.
