Capítulo 6: The Nightmare [Eli]
We ate dinner with little conversation. After dinner Adam and Max talked about many things as I sat and listened. They would ask me a question and I was polite and answered what I could.
I felt safe with them but still did not trust them completely. I knew why they wanted me and I knew a friendship would never happen.
It had been a long time since I felt apart of something. When I was growing up I would watch my father help anyone in need and my mother cook and feed anyone who came by.
'Right makes might but might isn't always right.' That was my fathers saying. I asked him once what he meant and he said, 'Those who do what is right will always be mighty but just because someone is mighty does not always make him right.'
When my powers first came in my father would always caution me to never use it against someone for the wrong reasons.
Then when my uncle took me and killed my parents I was scared and my powers ened up killed a man. That's when I ran and have stayed running.
Never again will I hurt someone with the gift I have.
Soon as it gets dark I climb into my blanket. I just hope tonight that big pervert doesn't try anything. I fall right to sleep.

I watch Eli fall asleep and wants so badly to lay next to him.
"Adam?"
"What?" Adam is cleaning up and packing away the supplies.
"I think I'm in love with him."
"You sure?" Adam did not tease him for he knew Max was serious.
"When he was bathing all I wanted to do was go to him and pull him close. I have never felt like this before. Even with a woman."
"Sound serious but what about Saundra your fiancée?" Adam asked.
"You know the marriage was arranged I have no feelings for her. I was planning on taking a mistress so why can't it be this boy?"
"When you love someone you can't ask them to share you with someone else but a boy can not be queen. I feel for you my friend."
I sat there thinking just watching the boy sleep.
"Max get some sleep I'll wake you later." Adam said.
I lay far away from Eli and watched him sleep. Soon the day did him in and he fell into a deep sleep.

'The thunder crashed threw the sky. I look around I can hear a child crying and as I surch everywhere... the crying becomes louder and louder. I run and run but never come close. Then a hand grabs me and pulls me away. I now can see the child laughing as I am dragged away. 'I will never let you save them, you are mine' A voice cries out and I try to pull away. I am screaming but no one comes'
"Wake up Eli, Wake up." Adam screamed
Max jumps and and hears Eli cries and see Adam trying to wake him up.
"What wrong?" Max asked.
"I don't know he just started yelling for help. I think he is dreaming."
Max picks him up and pulls him into an embrace and start rocking him, "Hush it's OK, your safe now."
I wake up with someone kissing my face saying I'm safe now. The dream came again. My heart is pounding and I feel my cloths damp from my sweat. I open my eyes to find Max holding and rocking me leaving kisses across my face.
"I'm alright now leave me alone." I try pushing him away but he has me in a tight grip.
"Are you sure, You were having a very bad dream?" Adam says.
"Tell him to let me go." I say and Adam can see the fear in my eyes.
"Max, please let Eli go."
Max looks at me and the next thing I feel is his lips on mine. I struggle and try to push him away and his tong forces it's way into my mouth. I could not help but shiver and moan.
Max can feel the change in my resistance and deepens the kiss. My arms wrap around his neck and I let myself go. When he breaks the kiss I realize what just happend and I slap him and push myself away from him and run.
Adam shakes his head and follows Eli while Max pulls himself together.
I run till I hit the river and start crying. I'm not sure why but the tears will not stop.
"You alright?" Adam ask.
I look at my reflection in the moon lite water. "Why did he do that? He has no right to touch me. Why... why..."
"He likes you and wanted to comfort you." Adam sits next to me.
"This can't happen, I can't be with someone like him. I can't be with him."
"He knows that too, he has to marry a girl to stabilize the land, but he does have feelings for you. He can't help his feelings."
"You don't understand. I could never...." I stop before I can finish. I could never be with someone who uses my powers or me. I stand up and wipe my tears and walk back to camp.
When I arrive Max is sitting there with his head in his hands. I pack my things and sit next to the fire. "I'll take the next watch and I promise not to run."
"I'm sorry... I had no right to do that." Max said.
"Don't do it again. I'm a boy and your a man it won't work."
Max just shakes his head and lays back down.
"Will you be alright?" Adam says placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Yah, I promised you I'll meet the Oracle so I will, get some sleep." I then sit and watch the fire while the two men sleep.
As the sun starts up I make biscuits and coffee. The smell of the coffee wakes everyone up.
We eat in silence and pack up to leave this time I ride with Adam like I did on the first day.
By mid day we arrived at a cottage not far from the capital. A elderly woman comes out.
"Come in, come in. I see you found our hope?"
"I need to know if he is the one?" Max says.
"Sit, give me your hand child."
I sit next to the woman and hold out my hand.
"You have great powers my dear, I see the power to move mind over matter. Tell me child what color is my life force?"
"Green with blue waves." I say.
"Yes, you are right and their life forces?"
"Adams is Blue and silver and Max's is peach and gold."
