Capítulo 4: Surching for the boy [Max]
I head outside and after looking around I could tell the boy headed north.
I then headed to the stables to get the horses ready. As soon as I pulled them outside Adam arrived with our things.
"He is heading north. I believe he will enter the woods to try and get away."
"Good thing your the best tracker around." Adam says.
We walked the horses for awhile following the track. A few times the boy would do something to make me have to stop and search.
Soon they came upon the area that the boy stopped and rest.
"He was here not more that an hour ago. We are getting close. I swear if we lose him I am going to break his legs."
I was tired of walking and with little sleep I knew I could not follow the trail if I rode.
However It did not take long until we spotted the boys camp. We waited until the boy had laid down to rest before approaching.
I then walk over and blocked the sun from shinning down on the boy.
When the boy opened his eyes I smiled and said, "Did I not say I need to speak to you?"
The when the boy smiled up at me my heart fluttered and all I wanted to do was pull the boy to me.
"Well, you see I forgot I had to be somewhere and had no time to reschedule our appointment."
I did not buy it so I just stared at the boy.
"So what do you want to talk to me about?" The boy said as he sat up and pointed to the ground for me to sit.
"I think I have been looking for you. The Oracle told me to find the boy who will help bring peace to everyone." I said as I sat next to him.
"And you thinks it's me, Sorry but you got the wrong person."
I sat there getting mad. My feelings is this boy is the one. I could not put my finger on it but the boy had to stay by my side.
"You need to come with us to see the Oracle and if she says you are not the one then you may go." I said with confidence because I was sure this boy is our hope.
"So are you going to force me if I say no?" The boy asked.
"I am afraid the answer is yes. I can not take no for an answer." I pinched my nose between my eyes and shook my head. I really did not want to force the boy but I would if needed.
The boy looked at me with hated and some how it hurt to see it in his eyes.
"What gives you the right to force me to go with you. Who do you think you are?" The boy was fuming his eyes turned dark and all of a sudden all I wanted to do was kiss him.
Why was this boy really bringing out these feelings.
Adam walks over and holds out his hand, "My name is Adam and this is Maximum the current ruler of Pawā Nation."
Slapping the hand away the boy says, "And that gives you the right to kidnap and force people to do your will?"
I start to feels guilty but it's my responsibility to look after my people.
"If I have no chose then I will follow you but know this, I help no one but myself." The boy says getting up.
"You'll ride with me and Adam will take your things" I say.
"No, I'll ride with the pretty one or I don't go." The boy said.
I had to agree even though I wanted him next to me.
"So what's your name kid?" Adam asked.
"Eli, But I'm no kid. Is he always mean?" Eli asked.
"Yah, but he is a good guy. You can trust him." Adam mounted his horse and pulled Eli up behind him.
I gathered the boys things and tied them onto my horse and we set off for home.
After a while Adam was tired of the silence so he asked, "So what do you do?"
"What do you mean?" Eil replyed.
"Everyone does something. I take care of the servants and my husband Robert is Max's cook." Adam laughs
"You have a husband aren't you a guy?"
"Yes I am but I also love a man and he loves me." Adam smiles.
"Do you think you could love a man?" I asked some how hoping for a yes.
"Me, I can't see me loving anyone. People only hurt others and use them. My father says there has to be goodness and trust to really have love."
"You can trust us, Maximum is one of the most trustworthy person I know. He would do anything to help his people." Adam said.
Max was feeling proud. He indeed loved his people and would do anything to bring peace.
"Even kidnapping and forcing a stranger to sever you against their will. Sounds like a good man to me." Eli said sarcastically.
Some how, by Eli statement, broke my heart. I wanted the boy to trust me. Even thought I really didn't know what my feeling for him was I wanted his trust.
We rode for awhile as I watched the boy. He seem to be constraining on something in his mind.
Then once again I seen blood coming from his nose.
"Here," I hands him a handkerchief and the boy pressed it to his noise.
"Get those often?" I asked.
"Sometimes... thanks." Eli says.
"Your welcome. We will stop to eat soon. I want to go a little futher before we stop for the night."
Eli shrugs his shoulder and say, "What ever."
What could be wrong with this boy. This is the second time his nose bleed like that. I also was wondering how this boy could save everyone.
Eli is not wrong about me I would force him to help if it would save my people. I would sacrifice one for the whole.
I tried thinking of Saundra to keep my mind off of this boy. I am a man who loves women. I am not like Adam so I need to keep my mind right.
But as I think more my mind kept wondering back to Eli and the though of kissing his lips and pulling him close to my body.
"How about we stop here?" I ask tring to distract myself.
I waits for Adam and the boy to get down to make sure the boy does not take off.
