40% RE: Mage System in a Martial World / Chapter 6: The Cannon Fodder Attack

Capítulo 6: The Cannon Fodder Attack

'Damn it...' With the number of novels he read, Adam knows very well what is happening now. The normal course of events here should be he refusing, killing him and facing his entire family tree.

Adam put the hood from his robe on and started walking away. No way in hell he wants all that trouble because of a rank 0 spirit beast corpse. Besides, he had just fought the tiger and is out of mana, what if they stronger than it?

The reason this young master is acting so confident and demanding the corpse is that he can't feel anything coming from Adam and thought he was some lucky mortal. The idiot don't even stop to think of what would happen if he was stronger than him.

The cannon fodder gave a cold 'hmph' while saying"Trash" and commanding the lackeys to inspect the corpse. The lackeys talked something to the young master and his face changed.

"Hey trash, stop" Adam stopped.

Adam stopped without saying anything and his back still facing him.

"Give me the core," He said in an arrogant tone.

Adam sighed in his mind. He started chanting fireball silently

"Don't you heard young master Zhu? Give the cor-" Lackey 1 was interrupted by the scene of a fireball coming from Adam staff and hitting a tree. With a loud 'boom', a big hole appeared in the tree trunk with the area around it burnt black.

The three were scared silly, they don't know that Adam is nearly out of mana and he needed time to chant, they just thought that he can send a fireball anytime he wants.

Adam pointed his staff to then without showing his face.

"RUN!" Lackey 2 shouted and started to run. The other two were shocked for a while before following him.

Adam sighed in relief after waiting for some time and making sure no one was coming. He had done that for three reasons. One, he is out of mana and the three of them together were probably stronger than the tiger. Two, in a three versus one he would be beaten up because of his lack of spells to deal with it, and three, He can't kill people like that.

He was just a normal high school boy some days ago and don't have the mentality to kill people. He indeed had nearly died three times already but these were against animals, not people. He can't just change his mentality in a week.

He picked up some parts of the tiger corpse and headed to the city, he needed several trips to carry the entire corpse to his Inn because he can't carry it all alone, which tired him out greatly.

He was now in his bed resting after the tiring trips when a thought suddenly came to his head.

"Why do even need to hide my face when I'm the only one in this city with staff and strange clothes...." He lamented the future trouble.

After resting, he sold half of the tiger parts for 1 silver(100 copper coins) and bought the mana potion recipe. A scroll appeared in front of him like usual and the knowledge flowed into his head.

After learning the potion ingredient and making the process, Adam reached a conclusion. He needs money, a lot of money. The ingredients weren't that hard to find but they don't are cheap as dirt, and he needs a lot of mana potions to use in battle.

"I need a better way to make money than hunting..."
