After rowing continuously for a few hours , Robin finally succumbed to her weariness. She tried her best to stay awake but her body and mind wouldn't listen. Soon she was engulfed her , within the fog there was continuous cool breeze blowing along with it came a very soothing sound. This was the straw that broke camel's back. Robin could no longer stay awake and dozed off to dream lands.
In her dreams she first dreamt of all the sweetest moments from her childhood from her previous life along with the sweet memories of her time with the scholars as if both were merging. Soon dark clouds appeared , and she had to witness the massacre of clan , of people who cared for , her twisted fate of both lifetimes together . She desperately wanted to wake up as she dint want to witness this again but she some how knew no matter what she wouldn't be able to wake up. So she decided to do what she regretted the most for not doing which was stay and fight , stay and help. She did not want the burden of being a sole survivor , she did not want be the last hope , she knew she had failed the first time and was afraid she would fail again. So she intervened but as soon as she did she killed instantly and her dream or rather her nightmare began again she tried to fight the guards that broke into the lab to investigate but was shot dead , she tried to fight the three men who had hurt her mom but was killed even before she could take down one, she tried to fight along with Saul to save him from the lava man but failed , every time she decided to interfere she died be it in the situation from the first lifetime or the current everytime she stood her ground she was killed. After getting killed for nth time ,she finally saw the faces of ones she tried to help or save , they all had an expression of regret and sadness, this baffled her as she clearly knew that these people had died with smiles on their faces as if they had no more regrets. She soon started hearing the last words of the fallen all had told her the same thing to chase after her dreams and live her own life and not a single one of them had told her to take revenge. Yet it was her who had become a person fueled by hate and revenge , it was her who had chosen the bloodiest and most painful path for revenge in her first lifetime, it was her who alienated others thinking they would make her loose focus from getting justice or they would become a liability, although fate was cruel, it had also given her lot of opportunities to walk a different path to reach a better conclusion. She was yet again going to tread the same path again this lifetime, she was yet again going to burden herself with unnecessary responsibilities this lifetime, but luckily due to this dream she realized walking the same path would be a huge mistake. In her previous life the Realm protector clan exterminated her clan saying neutral Qi cultivation technique was dangerous , although many were skeptical at first and started to scrutinize their actions, it was due to her actions of slaughtering anyone who stood in her way made even the doubters believe that Realm protector clan was correct and further demonized her once peaceful clan. By walking the same path once again she would end up justifying the actions of world government.
Thanks to this dream/nightmare Robin was finally enlightened on what path to take to her destination. She needed to make the people in this world loose faith in the world government, and one of the many ways to reveal the secrets of the void century, along with exposing the world government's atrocities.
Once she found this enlightenment she was finally able to drift off into a peaceful and dreamless slumber.
So yeah hopefully this chapter is able to convey the direction Robin in my fan fic is headed.
Since I am first time author I am not really sure how char development works (even though I am an avid reader and sometimes a mean comment guy) so was hoping this chapter would define how Robin as a char is going evolve.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter
Have a great day ahead !
PS:- It is true its easier to be a critic than to be an author.
