Capítulo 52: Life or Death
Jake looked at the creature. He looked at its amused expression its eyes that seemed to glimmer with excitement at the thought of the kill.
Jake knew that everybody would die someday, but he never thought today was his day. Jake filled with an unwillingness to allow it to happen had a strange light in his eyes.
Jake had survived so much he had run from the monster and survived in the harsh wilderness he had lost his new friend along the way. He didn't even know he cared about her so much until he lost her. Sure she was crazy and somehow in love with the god-like being that threw them into this world together, but he didn't care anymore.
The creature taking its hoove prepared to step on its prey one last time to crush it. Jake ignoring his feelings of hopelessness, looked for a way out something that could save him anything at all.
The creatures hoove was moving impossibly fast toward Jake, but he was already doing it with a handful of dirt he managed to blind the beast temporarily. Jake took his multipurpose tool and tried with the last of his strength to stab the now blind beast. Jake realized that the creature was thrashing around to much for him to stab it fatally. He decided against that course of action, and the tool turned into a gun.
Jake lifted the nuzzle of the gun which began to buzz and release a bolt of energy that would kill most ordinary life forms, but the creature seemed to have some natural defense as it remained uninjured.
Jake decided that the creature was nigh-invincible and began to run. The beast could only see shadows now but continued to chase the human at a much slower speed.
Jake using his newly made plasma gunshot through the hedge and rand even fast toward the alter.
His environment was continually changing as Jake ran deeper into the maze.
Jake still injured, pushed himself to the limit, and managed to reach the alter before the creature could catch him.
The creature spoke behind him once again, "I Vassir will kill you just like I did that Nafrite girl. After you left, I tore her body limb to limb, but I didn't eat her no I devoured her very soul she won't ever become part of the reincarnation cycle with her body torn apart and her heart demolished. You Xuhan believe in reincarnation, well isn't that worse than death?"
Vassir ran toward Jake even fast as his vision began to clear, but to Vassir's shock, Jake made it to the alter, so Vassir started to panic. A phenomenon took place that would frighten most sentient life. A mortal was transitioning into an immortal.
Jake's eyes glowed with a light blue light. Jake shook as his anger that been pent up since the death of his friend.
"IN THIS GAME YOU EITHER LIVE AND BECOME A GOD OR DIE AND TURN TO NOTHING. CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE THE FIRST MEMBER OF MY PANTHEON."
A voice rang out, and a glow surrounded Jake filling him with power as he heard a voice in his head. It was Calvis's partial consciousness talking to him.
