Thwack... Thwack... The sound was reverberating in the corner of a small alley where a group of people was beating a little girl. The little girl desperately called out for help, yet no one came. The people kept beating, using the little girl like a punching bag to release their frustration.
She became nothing more than a doll that was beaten until everyone was satisfied. She hadn't done anything wrong. She hadn't stolen from them. She didn't owe a debt that they were collecting. She was simply the weakest one there.
She was considered a waste to society, someone that is casteless and therefore disposable. No one had her back, even the low caste people reminded her that they were still better than her.
Most people of the planet were separated into castes. The only ones without caste were the abandoned ones, also called earth orphans. The other casteless were people thrown out of their families because of disgraceful activities. In the case of the girl, she belonged to the second group. With her existence, she had threatened a Noble line of succession.
They kept beating her until she was on the brink of death. She knew if they didn't stop soon, she would die. She was waiting for the final kick to kill her. All of a sudden they stopped. A being similar to a god stood in front of her and the crowd disappeared nowhere to be seen.
He must be a God - there was no other way to describe him. She was part of the Nafrites and he seemed a completely different race. Nevertheless, she was still attracted to him its as if race, sex, and age didn't matter. His face and aura commanded respect. While she was attracted to him, she sensed the underlying turbulent energy that fueled this being. She thought, 'If he is a god, then he certainly is a god of chaos and destruction.'
That man was Calvis. At a height of over six feet, he loomed over her before crouching down and offering her a hand.
"Come with me and you will never feel this pain again."
The girl tried to read his mind but inexplicably failed. None of her own race could resist her telepathic abilities but he inexplicably could. She hesitantly reached up and took his hand before they both disappeared from sight.
What will Calvis do with the Nafrite girl?
