"Will you ever come home?" Asked the elderly frail voice of Amara's grandmother.
"No, I want nothing to do with my parents or my sister." Rachel said while she was sitting on her couch, watching with cold eyes, as her boyfriend was taking his boxes and leaving. Her stereo was replaying that Rihanna song over and over again. So he would shut up and just move out quickly.
In the last three years the change of boyfriend has been plenty and many not so pleasant after knowing them.
Amara really has bad taste in men. As dating often ended difference in ideals
This recent one, she caught him cheating in her own house. But, at least cutting them off got easier as time passes.
Her restaurant chain is also progress really well, she started in some decent small towns across a few states already. The money brought in was slow at first, but, then started to produce results that climbed and now about five of her seven stores are currently highly successful.
As for the other two, one is picking up slowly, but it been to slow. While the other is having problems with the small-town populace.
Rachel is heading their now, her flight is late at night today, but as one can see it is in the morning, so she won't be leaving now. It was in the afternoon, her ex-boyfriend had long finished and left. As Rachel turned off the stereo.
This is a farm town, she had bought a lot of the land as it was beginning to be abandoned by the populace that wanted to move to the much cheaper city that is about an hour away.
So yes, her ex-boyfriend just so happens to be driving two hours back home to his parent's house.
"Little Dear, We miss you. We miss the family, can't you please come." Lately her grandparents have been bugging her to come to family events. Where the entire family are present….including her parents and her golden child of a sister.
Rachel had then investigated them a few times, to see if they had changed and were less toxic.
"I'll come down for yours and Grandpa anniversary next month." Rachel said softly.
"That would be very lovely dear."
Not long after Rachel quickly finished the call as she walked out to her porch. The place was originally a normal ranch worn down due to time and former owner who never gave it love. She had the house and he barn completely torn down and rebuild. The fence was rebuilt, the house and barn are modernized.
Next Day...
Rachel was set up in her hotel room, she had papers everywhere and her laptop open as she rubbed her hair back. Gathering her stuff, she took off
She has not even been to the store yet and this is what she collected, getting up she headed down the street, she walked of course. From the distance she can see the lake and large boats sailing around. Not many cars some passing through.
Everyone walked, nice enough where kids can play on the street. Local Police patrolling the streets saying hello to pedestrians. Lines of shops elegantly placed and fitting to the community.
At the end of the street with a pathway and driveway. She can see the sigh Jasmine, which is the name of her restaurants chain. The parking lot is somewhat empty, only a few customers it seems.
The only ones who use their cars really in this town is tourist. She opened her phone and sent out a text.
The restaurant outside looks particular beautiful, with the forest in the background. The blend of colors make it so alluring and inviting. She could understand why her branch manager didn't see anything wrong at face value.
But, Looking left to right. The Locals clearly avoided the place.
Nothing is wrong with the location, the town has enough, and the restaurant is in a local enough area for funds to be brought in. If that is the case the only thing, she could think of is the employees.
