Capítulo 22: Chapter Twenty-Two: The Second and Third
She had thought about adding two more onto her roster of monsters. With the concept of twins, she decided to create a duo who wields magic. The two would be of elements that mesh well with one another with Evelyn hoping that they could create a sort of fusion between both magic. Evelyn had already tried fusing two elements together to weave stronger spells; the task proved to be very difficult. It was not impossible, but the difficulty in trying to amalgamate two different elements is just to steep with her knowledge. With her intuition, she had felt that she could do it later down the line and, with the same intuition, she deduced it would be easier if it were two persons instead of one. Those thoughts in tow, she decides to create twins; a brother and a sister.
Still, on the idea of a monster having a human form, she decides on them being of kindred fox spirit siblings or also known as a Kumiho. Often depicted as a shape-shifting fox, they would often partake in the feasting of livers and hearts of humans; whether or not that is true in this world's version of the Kumiho, Evelyn would find out soon. With their myths and legends from Asia, Evelyn molds their appearance fitting to those that live around that area. Both of them have the hair color of ebony but the woman's length of her hair reaches her waist while the man's hair reaches down to his shoulders. The woman having prominent feminine features, but with modest curvature to her body. The man had a handsome but also androgynous appearance, his figure tight but well molded. Both of them had the potential to have the opposite gender to swoon all over them with just a single glance; that is how potent Evelyn made them be. Evelyn then clothes them in attires that would fit those whose roles of those serving a lord or master. Their modern clothes of a butler and maid fit them perfectly, the highlight being that they were absolutely stunning in them. The man's neutral face had his smile up slightly in a curvature while a slight frown on the woman's. Evelyn nods her head in satisfaction. Unfortunately, though the name Kumiho originates from Korea, Evelyn is not familiar with names from there. She settled with giving them Japanese names. The man's name, Asahi, and the woman's, Tsukiko. It was not too awkward as both their appearance matches their given Japanese names.
After confirming their appearance, she went straight to modifying their attributes and abilities. After an hour of fiddling around, she finally set forth with their strengths and weaknesses. Both of their strengths belong in the frontlines. Tsukiko is a hybrid type, being able to switch between the vanguard and rearguard while Asahi is someone who is more offensive in nature, belonging solely to the vanguard. Tsukiko and Asahi are both agile and proficient in magic. The only difference is that Tsukiko is dexterous while Asahi is physically stronger. If given a job, Tsukiko would be an assassin while Asahi would be a Monk. Giving them the lowest forms of abilities for their respective roles, the cost for both of them exceeded her initial budget of half her current DP. Their cost totaling around 1000DP. Over the course of the week of conversing with Alice, Evelyn had also not forgotten to do her daily lottery spins. Though not as lucky as before, she was able to amass another few hundred of DP and more tier 1 and 2 potions. After Evelyn's confirmation, she finally brought them into reality.
Alice was next to Evelyn when both Tsukiko and Asahi manifested themselves before them. Bubbling from the ground, two embryo-like objects emerge from the murk. Curled up inside, both Asahi and Tsukiko were nestled within the center. With their eyes opening as the trigger, they both reach for the thin membrane which holds them as prisoners. With their hands, they tear open the membrane and are swept outside with the rush of gelatinous liquid escaping the torn embryo. Still wet, they promptly get up and stand before Evelyn. With a quick motion, Evelyn uses her hands to block the young Alice's vision. With the current appearance of Asahi, Evelyn thought it is too much for someone like Alice.
"Lady Evelyn! I can't see." Alice protests. "Lemme go! I want to see!"
"No."
Using her arms, Evelyn hugs Alice and locks her in place. Alice thrashes around, defiantly trying to free herself from the arms of Evelyn. The butler and maid clothes had appeared beside the feet of Evelyn; the exact same clothes within the virtual creation simulation.
"Here, put these on," Evelyn said. "Quickly, I cannot keep her like this for long."
Alice is physically stronger than Evelyn, but Evelyn knew she was not using her full strength or else Alice would have already freed herself.
"Yes, my lady."
They both reply in response and quickly put on their respective uniforms. It was not long until Evelyn finally freed Alice from her grasp. Alice, with puffed up cheeks, pouts in response and stays silent. Chuckling, Evelyn pinches Alice's cheeks who shakes her off by shaking her head side to side. Ignoring the now upset Alice, Evelyn looks on over towards the other two.
"Your name is Asahi," Evelyn points towards the man. "and you are Tsukiko."
In response, they both bowed. Asahi, with a hand behind and one in front, bows politely. Tsukiko pinches the hems of her skirt and bows gracefully.
"I am called Evelyn, your creator." Evelyn continues. "I am expecting great things from both of you."
"Yes, Lady Evelyn."
Evelyn nods her head and slightly grimaces. The DP consumption had been more than expected so the full expansion of the house would have to be put on hold. With the amount that was left, she needed to provide two rooms and beds for them. Not only that, but she also needs to save some DP as well for future provisions and needs.
"...Stay here for now. I will return momentarily."
After ordering the three, she leaves their presence and heads into the thatched hut. From that day on, three rooms were created and connected to the main household; one for her and Alice, one for Asahi and the final one for Tsukiko. That day Evelyn became disheartened from the shrinking of her coffers.
