The fight stopped for a moment because of a person falling from the sky where people that came from Earth fall. Yes, the man and the woman were both from Earth. The world where they were now was a different world from Earth. On this world, abilities exist. But what really stopped them was what the young man said and did after he died. Then, they continued to fight for an hour before they were forced to stop. They saw something moving from their peripheral vision. An ability was from within their scope.
"How?" was the only word the man said before looking intensely at the young man lying on the ground where he was supposed to die. The fight was forgotten and they both stared from what was happening.
The blood came back from the young man and also the broken bones were mended like someone pressed a rewind button. The color of the young man became a living one, not deadly pale.
"Let's stop our fight for now. But remember, I am not done with you. I'll be taking this man back."
"Wait. Why should you take him back? Shouldn't he be brought back to the headquarters?"
The woman laughed like she was crazy with the young man on her shoulder hanging like a sack of grain.
"Are you an idiot? What would you say when they asked where he came from? And don't forget that we saw him falling from the sky. It means he was like us."
"Like us? You mean-"
"Yes, stupid. I don't even know why that Linnie saved you. She should have let you die." the woman said before disappearing. The man recovered from his shock. So the woman knew him from the start because they were the same, also the young man. He did not chase them anymore because it was the right choice. No one should know that they were from another world. They were living quite fine now that they can live with this world.
The woman reappeared from somewhere miles away from where she fought. She carried the young man on her house that was quite far from civilization. It was in the middle of a forest where monsters lived.
She opened her house and laid the man on her makeshift bed. She was not wealthy nor poor. She didn't need to sleep everyday because her mind and strength were not reduced even if she didn't sleep for weeks, months, or years. Time was on her side. She checked the man if he still had injuries but found nothing. She left her cabin to find something to cook if the young man happened to be hungry when he woke up. No one could deny a food when they were hungry and she knows that to get the trust from a man, you need to cook his meals... or something along that line she thought.
After some time, the young man woke up. The first thing he did was to touch his head. He had a headache that hurts like hell. There was ringing from inside his head like he was supposed to remember something. Next, he felt his heart ached and his body sore. He was hurting all over his body but no injuries could be found with his body. He bared the pain and gritted his teeth. He didn't even thought what happened he just sat there gritting his teeth fron the intense pain he was feeling.
The woman came back and went straight to the bed. She saw the man sitting and clutching his head. She stared at the young man with a smile like it was an everyday occurence.
"So, how was your body?" she asked the young man shocking him that made him jolt and pressed himself on the wall looking at her. "You know, for someone to faint and forced me carry you for a long distance you still have a nerve to be scared." the woman said with a smile mocking the man.
"Um. Well, I-I don't know where to start... but um... who are you? Where am I?"
"You're here in my house, and shouldn't you introduce yourself first before asking my name?"
"I-I'm Rain... w-who are you?"
"Hi Rain, I'm your mother." she said with a poker face.
"Huh?" the man blurted out believing the lie the woman said then she heard her laughed realizing that the woman were making fun of her.
"I'm sorry. You're just funny. For someone like me that were surrounded by old and serious people I can't help myself making fun of you. But by the way I'm Elina. Elina Polun. And I'll be your master from now on."
"M-master? Where am I? Isn't this Earth? Maybe I am still dreaming... but I did die. I should have gone back to my bed. Sht. I-I was just going in my part time job but then I... I... disappeared."
"Yes, you guessed right. You were summon in here. We are all summoned here, at least as far as I know there should be seven including you."
"But there are a lot of people who disappeared in Earth. Then why are we only seven here? Don't tell me..."
"I'll give you time to take it all in. I'm gonna cook us something to eat. If you're done then go outside. There's a clothes in there change what you are wearing for now." she said before completely disappearing from the room.
The room was not small nor big, but there are no appliances here. Maybe, she was poor or maybe.... He didn't want to go there. He would take it in slowly and he would go back to Earth. If he could. Elina Polun, he remebered that name. She was one of those missing people. There were a lot of missing people on the first year, roughly a thousand people. Yet, there were only seven people left including him. What if they all died? What if this place was dangerous? He didn't know the answer. Maybe, it was luck that led him where the people fought earlier. Clearly, he died there. It was clear as the sun yet he didn't have any serious injuries... well none at all. Maybe they healed him because they came from Earth. He didn't know the answer and he needed an answer. He collected himself and made a promise to live and survive no matter what happen. He stood up staggering and picked up the clothes.
The clothes too were different. There were a lot of skin showing. He wouldn't complain because he had nothing. He need to know what this world was first.
"So, Ms. Elina, where are we?"
"Take a seat. Let's eat first. It's a long story. But starting from now on you would stay here and that's your room where you slept earlier."
"But-"
"No buts. Sit. Let's eat. Remember. Earth is totally different from here."
He could see what she meant. The food were different from Earth. The fruits were the same... he thought. But, the animals well... they were too big.
"You need strength. Eat. It taste the same from Earth. The only difference were they were too big and would kill you if you're not strong enough."
After they ate she stood up and beckoned Rain to stand up. He didn't know why but he complied. It was night time. They stood outside of the house and he could see that it looked like a cabin. A resting place in a forest than a house. He thought he really was on Earth but clearly not.
"Earth and here were not the same but at the same time they were. You could clearly see that only a bit different but not at all. In here we don't have electricity. It was all the power of Mana that surrounded this world." Elina said looking at Rain "Mana, what is mana? Mana was the catalyst of producing an ability. In short it was like electricity. There are mana stones that helped our daily lives in here. They are like power bank in Earth. Mana is limitless." she said finishing it with a smile.
"Now, what I will tell you might spook you a little. As I have said. Mana is the catalyst to gain an ability but it was not true to us at all."
"What do you mean? Then we don't have any abilities that's why only seven remains here?"
"That was a good question. Mana is everywhere you could feel it but you can't touch it. You can feel it but you can't use it. Mana is present in all of the people here but on us... it's not. If mana is limitless then we are far greater than that. It means that we do not need mana to gain an ability nor to use it."
"What do you mean? Do I have an ability?"
"Yes. I saw it earlier, but before that... let me ask you. What was your inner desire?"
