20 days went by before August regained his consciousness.
He was shocked to realize that his body wasn't in any type of pain. The last thing he remembered was the vicious black flames burning away at his body, causing him immense pain.
"Young Sir Cloud, you've finally woken up." A sweet small girl said as she walked into the room and saw him sitting up. She was in charge of watching over him until he regained consciousness.
"How are you feeling?" The girl asked him.
"Good, really good." replied August as he continually examined his body over and over again.
His body felt better than he had ever felt. He could feel some type of surging power radiating from within his body.
"What happened to me?" August asked the small girl.
Without hesitation she explained to him everything that had happened from his talent bursting through the pillar to him directly reaching Level 8 of the Apprentice Realm.
To her surprise August remained calm both during and after hearing this information. If it was any other person they would be jumping for joy hearing that they had such talent and directly broke into Level 8 of the Apprentice Realm.
In actuality, August was immensely shocked on the inside. He never had any interest in sorcery but now he had become a natural sorcerer prodigy. Him breaking into his current realm his obviously why he could feel that surging power inside his body.
What shocked him the most was the news about the black flames. He had learned from the small girl that the black flame actually belonged to him and was his life element. This flame was a variant type flame that nobody had ever seen.
August and the girl chatted for a little while longer. He had come to know that her name was Sunny Day and despite being small she was actually 18 this year and at the 7th Level of the Profound Realm.
Shortly after chatting August left the infirmary and headed to the Headmaster's office. He had learned from Sunny that the headmaster wanted to speak with him.
August quickly reached the Headmaster's office, he approached the door with the intention of knocking but before his hand could touch the door the words "Come in" sounded out in his head so he directly entered.
Upon seeing the headmaster August was somewhat suspicious. The man looked to only be in his 20's. To August this age was simply too young to be a headmaster at an academy like this.
"I'm 708" The headmaster suddenly said as though he could read August's thoughts.
August was instantly stupefied and tried his hardest not to think about anything else as he was afraid his thoughts would all be read.
"Do you know what type of flame that black flame is?" The headmaster got straight to the point.
August guessed that this is what the headmaster wanted to discuss so he was already prepared. "No, I was hoping that you could help me with that."
"In short, your flame is called the Nether World Flame and only appears roughly around once every million years. The Nether Flame can only be possessed by one person at a time. The Nether World Flame is one of the 3 Great Flames. These 3 flames cannot be ranked as they all have there specialty. Your flames specialty is destruction."
August paid close attention as he made sure he took all of this information in. "If my flame specializes in destruction then why wasn't my destroyed and burned to ash?" August asked.
"Your flame belongs to you this it would never truly hurt you. It only destroyed your skin in order for a better set of skin to take its place."
August face was filled with black lines as he thought to himself 'Never hurt me? It sure felt like it was hurting me.'
"And although your black flame is extremely powerful it his limited to your low realm. Only when you reach the Divine Awakening Realm will you truly be able to release a portion of its true power." The headmaster added.
August nodded. He knew that his level was too low. The him now had just entered the world of sorcery and didn't even know a single spell. The only thing he knew was how to wield his staff. "Headmaster where could I go learn some basic spells and background to sorcery as I have no prior knowledge of any of it."
Now it was the headmaster's turn to have his face full of black lines. Although he knew that August had never gathered any elemental energy, he didn't think that he had absolutely no knowledge of sorcery at all. The only way someone could do that was if they deliberately avoided all information related to sorcery as it was often even discussed among common people.
"Most of the grimoires we have here are suited for those of the Profound level or higher but I'm sure that you'd be able to find something in the library."
August nodded. "If there's nothing else headmaster than I'll take my leave now."
The headmaster waved his hand and August left.
After August left the headmaster sat down in deep thought. He had only discussed the flame with August but did not discuss his talent. The reason he didn't discuss it was because he didn't even know what to say. He had never seen someone's talent break the testing pillar. Even he himself was only a grade 8 talent. He didn't believe he had the qualifications to take him as a personal disciple. He could only wait to watch August grow.
Inside the library August roamed around looking for a fitting grimoire to study. He looked for about an hour before finally choosing one titled The Basics Of Flames. He figured he might as well start with the basics just as he did with his staff.
He sat and studied the book for hours before putting it away. He now thought that he had a decent understanding of the basic flame skills. Although he wasn't sure if he could actually perform the spells.
It was night time when he exited the library and headed towards his living quarters that was arranged by the academy.
"A super talent that has never been seen before huh. Strange the only thing I see is a price of trash." A voice suddenly sounded out from behind August.
Although August had never been in an actual fight his reflexes were still quick. Especially after he had gathered elemental energy.
With a flash he hurriedly pulled the long staff from his back and turned around.
*BOOM*
As soon as he turned around a bolt of lightning struck his chest, destroying his shirt and sending him flying backwards.
August hit the ground and continued sliding backwards for an extra 10 feet.
Although he had just been injured, all the adrenaline coursing through his body still gave him the ability to quickly get to his feet.
In front of him he saw two youths. They both had snow white hair and shared a slight resemblance, it was obvious that they were somehow related.
"Why the hell did you attack me?" Said August through gritted teeth
"We just wanted to see how strong the so called rare talent was but it turns out that your so pitifully weak." One of the youths said.
"Cousin don't even waste your breath talking to such trash. It's best if we just directly kill him to save the academy from wasting resources." Said the other youth.
August was enraged. Is this how the Sorcery was? Although they had no conflict, although they didn't even know each other name and were students of the same academy they would kill him just because he was weaker than them?
The more he thought about it the more enraged he became. The flame symbol on his forehead suddenly released a faint glow.
"If it's like that then the both of you shall die with me!" August lunged at the closes youth with his spear.
"Truly an idiot." The youth mocked and his hand instantly became wrapped in lightning and reached out to meat the incoming staff.
Half way through his swing August executed a flame spell on the staff and it instantly became encased in flames. Inside he was secretly shocked as he didn't think his first time attempting to execute a spell would be successful.
The youths face revealed a small shock but he was still confident. That was until the staff actually met his hand.
*Crack*
The sounds of broken bones could clearly be heard. The youth who reached out his hand to meet the staff had his hand completely crushed by the staff.
Not only was the bones in his hand crushed but his hand was also on fire.
"Ahhhhhhh!!" The youth screamed as his hand was burned to nothingness.
Afraid that someone would hear all the commotion. August quickly sent out another strike. This time he aimed his strike had the youth's head.
The youth's cousin seemed to know that August would attempt to attack again so he moved around him to sneak attack him from behind. He had taking out a sword and used a lightning spell on it to encase it in lightning to amplify his attacks power.
August had long knew that other youth was waiting for an opportunity to strike so he only pretended to strike at the first youth again.
Sensing the youth coming in from behind. August quickly adjusted his aim mid attack. Instead of attacking the first youth in front of him. His body spun around and the attack lashed out at the second youth who was attempting to sneak attack him.
The second youth was completely caught off guard as he didn't think that August's reaction time would be so fast. He no time to readjust himself and could only go through with his attack.
The second youths sword was raised above his head completely exposing his midsection and that's exactly where August targeted.
*Crack*
Another sound of bones cracking reverberated through the air as the youth's body dropped down to the floor.
His chest had caved in and his organs were badly damaged from the strike of the Black Ink Immovable Staff. He laid there coughing about blood, unable to stand.
The first youth wasn't any better off. Half of his body had already disintegrated due to the Nether World Flame and he had already died.
Seeing the dead youth on the ground August came to a realization. He had actually killed someone. He didn't know how to feel. So many thoughts were going through his head. His mind was one big jumbled mess.
He walked over to the second youth who laid there and stared at him for a while before speaking "What was your cousins name?" August asked.
The youth coughed out another clunk of blood before attempting to speak "Lu-Lucas Light" He manage to say through much difficulty. "A-nd my name is.."
Before he could finish his sentence the Black Ink Immovable Staff struck him once again. This time crushing his skull and directly killing him.
"I only wished to know the name of my first kill. Your name is simply unimportant to me." August said before sending out a strand of fire to completely destroy his body and erase his existence.
Soon the only thing left there was August himself. There was no trace of anyone else. The only thing that remained was some dried up blood and some burnt patches of yard. His chest was still bleeding from the original lightning strike but he stood there seeming unaffected.
August still didn't know what to think or how to feel. But he knew for certain that this wouldn't be that last time he killed.
Like nothing ever happened, he once again set off and headed towards his living quarters.
