Capítulo 67: The Final Battle I
Black smoke covered a single area within a large stadium. The smoke came about from a barrage of attacks from a dog-like beast, that was flying in the air with its three pairs of wings.
A deadly silence loomed, as the black smoke showed no signs of clearing up. From within the smoke, a soft Buddhist scripture and echoing 'oh' sound could barely be heard.
Slowly, golden purple light began to seep through small gaps within the smoke, as the two sounds grew louder and louder, while the light became brighter and brighter.
Whoosh!
In an instant, the smoke was cleared out completely, as a demonic-looking monk was seen standing unscathed. The dog-like creature's attack had done little to no damage to its body, showcasing how terrifying its body and defence was.
The Buddha's will, as well as the manifestation of a sliver of the Devil's images returned. Both beings were right behind the demon-like monk, as its eyes once again opened up.
It's two legs slowly lifted off the ground, while its body was levitating in the air, cross-legged. Its hands were placed gently on its lap as it stared at the large beast dozens of meters away.
With a flick of its palm, a golden palm took form in the air, and reached for the beast. The dog-like beast's six axes started spinning in each of its hands, as black energy seeped out from every direction, seeping into the enlarging axes.
Chop!
The golden palm was cleaved into pieces and exploded. 'Ohm', a demonic purple fist condensed right behind the palm and shot forward like a rocket.
Bang!
As the fist crashed into the beast's body and blocked by its axes, a huge golden palm manifested and shrouded the entire stadium. The huge golden palm was big enough to grasp everything in the entire stadium.
It grew brighter, while it slowly came down like a shooting star, gently enveloping the huge demonic fist that wasn't any smaller. The golden palm slowly merged with the demonic purple fist, as golden purple energy was created from the combined energy of the two powers.
The golden purple fist grew, as it became more powerful. The entire stadium shook, due to the sheer force of the fist crashing the air itself. Shortly, a huge purple palm condensed on top, expanding the fist even more.
'Ohm, ohm, ohm, ohm'
With each added palm, the demonic golden purple fist grew larger, and more condensed everytime. The Dog-like beast was being pushed back, and its axes cracked with every added layer of attacks.
Soon enough, its entire body was enveloped in golden purple light, completely engulfing and taking over its dark energy. The dog-like beast howled as its six axes broke apart, and the fist slammed directly into its body.
Boom!
An earth shattering explosion was seen and heard. The fist had utterly crushed the dog-like beast, as it also made cracks on the defensive barrier created to protect the students watching.
The students close by, could see the dog-like beast being crushed like a pancake by a single fist. The giant golden purple fist was slowly dispersed into the air, while the demonic monk closed its eyes and planted its two feet back onto the ground.
The Buddha and Devil returned into the body of the monk, as well as the rotating Buddhist symbol, before it turned into golden purple light and returned to its master.
With this, the battle for third place was claimed by the Battle Temple, while fourth place belonged to the previous second place, Heaven's Gate. The battle between the Demon Bodhisattva and the Hundun ended quickly.
Even though both monsters were from mythical stories, there was still a clear difference in their strength. The Demon Bodhisattva had utterly dominated the Hundun in battle. Even though both monsters were of the same grade, and level, there was still a large disparity in strength between them.
"Was there really such a clear difference in strength? I don't believe that it was so simple, it seems more like he intentionally lost. If he had really done his best, even if he lost, it wouldn't be by such a large margin." Ye Qin thought.
His eyes turned to glance at the leader of Heaven's Gate. The young man as though felt his gaze, turned to look back at him.
The two young men stared at each other briefly, before returning their gazes. Heaven's Gate returned to the stands, while a short twenty minute break was called for until the final match.
Soon, the battle between War Hod academy and Nine Peaks academy would begin. It was the final battle, meaning first and second place would be decided. Since only first year students participated in the last match, the same rules would apply in this match.
During the twenty minute break, Ye Qin and Wang Tao gathered the team to discuss their battle plan. Jia Yazhu and their classmate who's name was never learned withdrew from the battle. Once they got up to the stage, they would only watch the battle unfold.
As for Yang Chen, he chose to fight it out against the War God academy. "Good, then the three of us will battle against the five of them. Knowing Sun Zhan, he will fight despite knowing that he may not be a match for us. The other two may join in to try and do some damage to us."
"Since their captain won't be joining the fight right away, focus on the other four. Once we finish them, Yang Chen, you can have a go." Ye Qin said.
Yang Chen nodded as he had no reason to disagree. "Boss, you'll be in the spotlight quite a bit today, hehe. There won't be much light for me to enjoy so I'll have to hug your thigh after this." Wang Tao joked.
"That wasn't funny." Ye Qin replied.
"Cough, it wasn't supposed to be, just trying to change the mood a bit." Wang Tao was embarrassed as he muttered a response. Soon after the twenty minutes were up, both teams were called out to stand on the stage.
Within a crowded stadium, filled up entirely with students and teachers from ten universities, two teams composed of five students in each, stood at the bottom of the stadium in order to hold a single and final match.
This final match would decide the placings of each of the universities for the next few years. On one team, the leader was a beautiful young woman with long white hair, who was also quite tall; standing at one hundred and seventy-two centimetres.
On the side, a handsome young man with fiery red hair faced his opponents. The young man was Sun Zhan, who was the vice captain of the team. His other three members seemed ordinary in the presence of both the vice and captain themselves.
On the other side, two extraordinarily handsome young men, who were about the same height looked across at the familiar faces of the other team. The two young men were both just as handsome as each other, both boasting different charms to the other.
The two young men were Ye Qin and Wang Tao. They were the leaders of their team, while a young woman and two young men stood beside them. Of the three, only a certain young man gazed at the other team while giving off a violent air.
The young man, named Yang Chen used his two hands and pulled his hair up, as though using some sort of magic, since his hair didn't move and stayed in the exact position he had changed it into.
His eyes glistened and his gaze was sharp. Both teams stood over a hundred meters away from each other, as the battle between both sides would soon take place.
When the match was called to begin, both sides called their monsters.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
On War God academy's side, Sun Zhan and his three team members called their monsters. Sun Zhan had called out both the Fiery Molten Ape, and the Thunder Gale Ape as well from the start.
On the other side, Ye Qin, Wang Tao, and Yang Chen called the Qiulong, Blackgold Python Tiger, and Super Soldier.
In a battle of three against five, they had the disadvantage. However, the quality of their monsters more than matched the difference in quantity.
On appearance, Ye Qin's Qiulong and Wang Tao's Blackgold Python Tiger both emitted an earthshaking roar. Everyone had to cover their ears less their eardrums would burst. The entire stadium shook immensely, while large gusts of wind blew forth.
The nearby students and teachers felt a suppression over themselves, and could feel their monsters hidden in the Monster sea trembling. It was especially so, for the War God academy's team since they were directly in front of them.
In the blink of an eye, Yang Chen's Super soldier stepped into the void and appeared beside the opposing team in an instant. Before they could even react, it had taken out a large rifle and fired into the head of one of the opponents.
Bang!
The Super Soldier fired as the opposing side quickly fell. The Fiery Molten Ape and the Thunder Gale Ape both appeared by the Super Soldier and attacked at once.
Bang!
A dark shadow flashed by, as a chilling wind passed by and intercepted them. The Blackgold Python Tiger swooped in and blocked using its sturdy body. Its tail wrapped around the Thunder Gale Ape, while its claws grabbed the Fiery Molten Ape's fist.
A small struggle was held, before the Blackgold Python Tiger fired a beam of ice, causing the two apes to dodge and freed itself. Its wings flapped, as it pounced onto the Fiery Molten Ape and bit down hard with its fangs.
Roar!
The Fiery Molten Ape roared as its armor was penetrated directly. Even though it was extremely thick, it wasn't hard enough to stop the tiger's sharp fangs. It jumped around, trying to shake off its opponent.
The Blackgold Python tiger waited, before letting go and flipping midair while firing a barrage of energy blasts.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The barrage of energy blasts, blasted the molten ape, like a gun pumping someone full of holes. The Blackgold Python Tiger rotated and landed on its legs as it turned into a golden black shadow towards the Thunder Gale Ape.
The thunder ape prepared its sword, clad in pure lightning as it dashed forward with its sword pointed forward. The Fiery Molten Ape roared, as it leaped into the air towards the Blackgold Python Tiger, cornering it into a two on one battle.
On the other side, the Super Soldier stepped into the void, dodging every attack by the enemy side. Its dual guns were charged and fired at the same time.
Bang! Bang!
It reappeared on the stage, as its two handguns fired in unison towards two opponents at once. It continued firing at a rapid pace, with shirt intervals of two seconds between each shot.
Its right hand, changed trajectory and fired in a singular direction.
Bang!
A large bullet of energy crashed into the body of the Thunder Gale Ape, disturbing its trending path forward. The Blackgold Python Tiger stepped on the ground with a single paw, creating a world of ice around the entire stadium.
As the temperature dropped, golden blue ice enveloped the entire stadium. With another step using its paw, a large road of ice was created in front of its paw. The golden blue ice went straight for the thunder ape, while it waved its tail, spitting poison at the molten ape.
Roar! Roar!
Dark purple poison spread like liquid and seeped in the small gaps between the cracks in the armor of the molten ape. It's armor slowly regenerated overtime, but it was so slow that the poison went deep inside in an instant.
The poison slowly corroded its armor, weakening it, while slowly taking it down at the same time. The road of ice was extremely fast, sharp spikes of ice pierced the air like spears, and came for the thunder ape.
The Thunder Gale Ape had quickly recovered from the minor injury caused by the Super Soldier's bullet. Its tail was used like a spring, allowing it to pounce forward again and continue making its way to the Blackgold Python Tiger.
The road of spear-like ice that was coming for it, was dodged by it stopping, then jumped into the air, and diving downward. Unfortunately for it, the ice road didn't stop growing, and expanded height by dozens of meters in an instant, like a living being.
Crack!
Within a few moments, the thunder ape couldn't be seen anywhere. Only a large golden-blue pillar of ice was left behind. Once the smoke cleared up, a shadow could be seen within the block of ice.
Even without looking closely and simply by guessing, one could see the outline of a thin ape within the golden-blue ice. At this point, it was easy to tell that the thunder ape was the one frozen in ice, unable to escape.
