Alec grits his teeth and does his best to stay pleasant. "Do I need to bring up a pallet for Alec or..." My Mother says looking at Alec and I. I smile and say "It's fine, Alec can share my bed." My mother nods and smiles while saying "It's kinda like you're having a sleepover... but with grown men... I guess I always pictured your first sleepover to be with a bunch of girls but I'll take what I can get!"
I give my mom a warm smile, knowing she missed out on a lot with me growing up. Truth be told, I've had quite a few sleepovers with my friends growing up... I just didn't want to pop her bubble or ruin her excitement. I look over to my Grandfather and he gives me a knowing smile.
Neither one of us wants to ruin this for her. "Would y'all like snacks? I can make some and bring it up to you three." I quickly say "No, no that's not necessary. Once we go up, we're all going to go to bed." She nods but quickly says "If anyone gets hungry just let me know!"
