Capítulo 31: Hunt for lunch
I just tried and the scythe I've always used to train appears in my hand, apparently I can make things appear out of thin air here. "Here Goba, can you hold this?"
I hand over the scythe and Goba holds it with two hands, but at the moment I let go it disappears. So I can't truly create things out of nothing. In response to this Goba just summoned his own scythe and I resummoned mine. Like that our spar began.
Something I noticed is that I don't get tired, but Goba does. This probably means that my body doesn't grow stronger, but Goba's body does. But that doesn't mean my skill doesn't increase. Also, it seems we can't cut each other, although getting hit still hurts, and there's also the point that I get hit a lot, which makes my mind tired.
"Master... can we... please stop?" Goba asks while breathing heavily, I finally got the feeling I was pushing him back, but he just was on the brink of exhaustion. There's still a lot for me to learn.
"Sure Goba, let's stop, we practiced long enough already. I also feel like I still can't rotate my energy and focus on the fight enough at the same time, it's driving me crazy!" I sit down next to Goba who dropped on his butt the moment I said stop.
After another few moments of deep breathing Goba talked again. "It'll come, there's also another trick that you can try, a druid told me this. Imagine a room in your mind, then try to split your mind in two, when you succeed let one half of your mind hide and the other search. Like that you should be able to let them work better separately."
I give him a questioning look but shrug it off, I'll just give it a try, but not right now. "You know Goba, I really hope I can go hunting soon, this entire world with just the two of us feels so.. empty. I hope that soon the world will be filled with beings that together grow stronger for a single purpose, that we'll create a haven for those that follow our cause, a haven for monsters like you and humans like me. Although I'm more a monster like you anyways." I chuckle softly. "A Monster Haven."
I stand back up. "Well Goba, rest up, I'm gonna check on the trip again."
He nods while he looks like he's deep in thought. "Yes, yes, do that. I'm gonna be busy for a moment Gosamu..."

"Hey Vothe, anything special happened?" He simply shakes his head at me, this also catches the eye of Henry.
"So you're awake? It isn't often that I see someone your age who can meditate so deep and so long inside something like a carriage, I'm impressed."
"Thanks." I think that's all I have to say about that. "How much longer till we arrive?" I give him a friendly smile, giving a good impression is something that never hurts I think.
"We're about halfway, so about another 3 hours. Jack up there knows a place where there're very tasty Wind Cows on the way though, maybe we could go for some hunting if you want to? If you just want to go to your destination that's okay for us too, we'll just go on the way back."
If I do help to hunt now they'll see what I can do, but I can also get what I need to create a new life. Or I could... "I can't really help that much without a weapon, but I can send Vothe to help you guys."
Henry seemed to think for a moment. "Then what will you do?"
"I can just stay here and gather some firewood. We need to cook the meat right? You can also just lock me inside to make sure I won't run away." I give him a shrug, showing that it doesn't matter that much to me. I'm practically just a prisoner being moved to a different location, it shouldn't matter that much to me.
"I don't think locking you up is necessary, we'll have your hare with you, so I'm not afraid that you'll run away. You can just look for some firewood and some herbs nearby." He turns to the window and says in a slightly raised voice: "He agreed Jack, just pull up somewhere!" His voice was only slightly raised, but it feels way louder, as if there's more than just his voice.
There're some bumbs as we slowly come to a stop. Once outside I see a thin forest, a few trees but visibility is still pretty good. Jack is letting the horse loose and ties it to a tree, giving it some space to walk around. He also takes out a big bowl that slowly fills itself with water, now it has grass to eat and water to drink.
"It's a great choice kid, nothing beats freshly barbecued Wind Cow. Just stay here and look for some firewood, there're also a few nice herbs around. Everything that smells nice is good to eat here, so don't worry too much about it." Jack starts talking just as I exit the carriage.
"Okay, I'll try to have a fire going by the time you're back. Vothe, you can join them, do your best and show them what you've got!" I nod at Jack in confirmation and patted Vothe's head to motivate him.
"Haha kid, I didn't think you'd be so nice to your hare but so cold to us, I almost feel bad!" Jack laughs and Henry just smiles at us. I smile back but don't say anything.
"Jack, just come. Well kid, we'll be back soon, so don't wander off too far." Henry waves as he turns around with Jack and Vothe following closely.
I start walking around a bit grabbing dryer wood from the floor. After a few minutes when I feel that Vothe is quite far I summon Goba.
"First Priest Goba, I call upon you! Stand before me and open the eyes of those with their eyes closed to my truth. Stand before me and punish those without eyes. Stand before me and cut away the thorns in my path!"
"Oh, master, you called me! I thought I wouldn't be summoned for quite some time! In what way do you need my assistance?" Goba bowed to me right after looking around at where we are.
"Yes Goba, they unexpectedly let me alone, they're off hunting. Vothe is with them, so I can track their position. And I thought, maybe we can go and do some hunting ourselves! Then we can really start the circle of reincarnation!" I raise my arms at Goba, showing the greatness of this plan.
"That's a good idea indeed Master! Should I go alone, or will you join me?" He smiles at me, it's still not a pretty sight.
"I'll join you, but I'll need to find some herbs for lunch, we can gather the wood very quickly when we're back." I nod at him. "Can you see where there's some good pray, or do we just start walking?"
Goba closes his eyes for a second, when he opens them back up there's a slight green glint in them. "I can see Vothe and that Henry and Jack you talked about. In the other direction there's a big animal, probably a predator, but I can take it I think. Although I'm not sure until I see it up close."
"Sure, let's go there. A big animal will help us in our cause." And like that we start jogging through the forest, right towards our target, time is of the essence.
