Capítulo 3: On Saturn, It Rains Diamonds

Felix glanced down at the note they had clutched in his hand. Resonance High School.

"Seems pretty pretentious sounding to me," Felix pondered. Felix hastily folded the note and stuffed it into the pocket of his pants and shrugged.

"Let's get this day over with.", he thought to himself. To get to school, he had to get to the train station first. Felix started on his way to the train station, it had only been about a minute before he stopped dead in his tracks.

"Wait a second. Where am I?", he asked, raw confusion present in his voice. Felix scanned the street around him, a street that was unfamiliar to him. He really was lost. He foraged around in his pocket for his phone hoping that maybe Google Maps would save him once again. To his dismay however, his phone was nowhere to be found.

"Guess I'll die.", he said jokingly to himself. There was nothing else he could do except to attempt to ask for directions. Felix glanced upwards towards the sky, dark clouds swirled in the heavens above him, looking as if they were on the verge of bursting.

"I swear to God it better not rain," he mumbled, "I didn't pack my umbrella."

As if on cue, the clouds let go and the rain started to fall.

Noticing a nearby canopy, Felix ducked underneath it for shelter.

The rain had a soothing quality to it as it echoed down the bustling streets of Resonance. It's gentle, rhythmic pitter patter was almost entrancing to him. There was something mesmerising about the rain, something he couldn't put his finger on. Maybe it was the way it fell so endlessly from the heavens to the ground, maybe it was that subdued, salty smell that it left on the pavement, or maybe it was because of her.

That day in the rain. Why did it still linger at the forefront of his mind like that? Hanging over him like an inescapable omen.

He just wanted those memories to disappear, like tears into rain.

But he just couldn't bring himself to do it.

That was basically his whole life wasn't it? All the missed opportunities, all the regret that permeated his mind. But he was only a high school student, he knew he shouldn't be thinking about any of this. It was childish, like he was pretending to be an adult. He shook his head, rubbing his eyes and let out a long sigh. He stared out at the now-empty street and continued to watch as the rain continued to fall.

A soft voice interrupted his thoughts: "Hey, could you shuffle over a bit?"

Surprised, Felix whirled around to see a girl who looked about his age.

She had strawberry blonde hair, which was tied up in a rustic ponytail. The girl had a cute, little button nose which sat comfortably on her face. Her pale complexion glimmered vibrantly against the gloominess of the dark sky. Her pastel pink lips surrounded her small mouth with perfect pearl-like teeth which were smiling cheerfully. Her oak-coloured eyes gazed softly at him. She was wearing loose-fitting sky blue blouse, a checkered navy skirt with a set of long, black leggings.

The blouse had some kind of insignia on it, a circle with a triangle imposed over the top of it, the words Sydnestris High School were printed underneath it in big, bold letters.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.", the girl said, laughing as she did so.

Felix could feel himself blushing in embarrassment, he turned away from her in an attempt to hide his face.

"Haha...uh...don't worry about it, it's nothing."

For a minute there was an awkward silence while Felix was searching for something to say. Anything.

"H-hey, you go to Resonance High School right?", he stammered nervously

The girl turned to look at him with a confused stare.

"Um yeah, you do as well you dummy."

"What?"

"You're wearing the exact same school uniform."

Nice one Felix.

"You're the new transfer student everyone's been talking about right?

"Um yeah, that's me. My name's Felix by the way."

"Felix, huh?", she paused for a moment, as if she was thinking about something.

"Something wrong with my name?", Felix asked quizzically.

"No, nothing's wrong", she giggled playfully, "It's a cute name."

"W-what?"

"I said it's a cute name."

"Thanks… I guess."

The girl chuckled, "Nice to meet you Felix, my name's Luna."
