Glass half empty
Glass half full
Both are lacking truth
Both are lacking meaning
The glass is always full
The glass is always empty
Full of air
Devoid of air
This key difference
Does all meaning originate
I based this poem on the idea that everyone assumes the glass is both half full and half empty- when really it is always full. At least on earth, it fills with air. so in truth pessimism is looking at something full- but since they cannot see it they simply can't believe it. Optimists see a glass half full because they associate the air with the atmosphere- hence it is not in the glass. For them, the air is the problems they ignore. It's there, but its someone elses problem.
