Capítulo 5: Semi Finals
We have just won, it was pretty easy in my opinion with me not even going that hard. I used that match so I could see what my teamates were capable of. It seems they are reliable even if they look like some side characters in anime.
So as we are done cheering each other up for the win we see that the tournament brackets has loosened down and slimmered a bit. We were going against Blue team which was interesting. I heard former pros and some amaerture players were playing here. I didnt expect one of those Generations of whatever freaks to be here. I felt excited and ready to see who it was and was ready to destroy them.
As we walk we go up against two more people in our way towards the semi final. Oh? It seems like there is some interesting people in this match. It was some former pros with experience in the game. I was hoping to see what we could do against them. It seemed like they just matched up and used their experience and size to go against the other teams
??? : Bro I am telling you, this is easy money than compared when we were bench players for like the worst team in the league, It's practically robbery what they do to our salaries over there!
???2 : Right man we know thats why we doin' this stuff. I feel bad for these rookies and kids that are trying to play but this prize money is ours!
Mike : Alright boys these guys compared to us are cannon fodder. We just have to pass the ball around to me or to Aito who can shoot the 3. Hirito I want you to focus on the post and abuse their small player.
Aito&Hirito : Un!As the match starts it goes back and forth with us scoring. I am scoring the most with my fadeaways and new weapon to boot, my turn around fadeaway was a work in progress before this, so I decided to practice it here. It might be cocky to do it here but I knew of the improvement it could have during the game, Its just a 3v3 tournament for everyone, an event.
I completed the move during the half of game when we were 4 points behind. Once I started using it I scored 4 twos in a row infront of two defenders. They might be big but I mixed it up with normal jumpshots, fadeaways, fakes, layups. It was simply easy to blow by them. It never felt like this before. Before I needed my teamates for help such as getting open and hitting the open 3. Only in my 3rd year of junior high that I developed my Iso game.
It felt good hitting those type of shots but I felt like distributing the ball and playing a little more defense. I gave the ball to Aito and Hirito a little more and as they scored they seemed to improve as I have as well. It must be due to the System giving a party sort of buff or exp gain. I didnt really know the details.
There was this one time that we got the ball and I instinctly threw the ball in the air like a lob was going and then there I saw Aito rise in the air and dunk the ball. The whole crowd went wild after the game winner was made by us. Me and Aito high fived and also gave Hirito some fives as well.
Hirito : Bro Aito! How did you do that your so tiny I couldnt believe you did that! Did you both plan this before the play or something?
Mike/Aito : Nope just thought of the same thing
Aito : Dude! I never knew I could jump that high It feels so surreal man!
Mike : Dont worry man not everything is to be questioned when fact is shown!
As the group won the game and was sent into the finals to face the final foe, they meet up with some other people who saw the game and were impressed with the last play. They interviewed Aito as he was the one who made the highlight play during the match.
Interviewer : How did you do that! Show us your secrets please, it must be some voodo magic! I cant even jump that high and I'm like 5 inches taller than you!Aito was mad but calm as well and answered with a tick on his forehead.
Aito : It was simple! Practice!
The whole interview went on like that and then now our guy Mike is in the bathroom getting ready.
This was until he met someone he's seen before.
