The survivors successfully returned to their city. Hearts filled with both fear and anger, they immediately reported to their families and the local authorities about the devilish practice of the villagers.
Unfortunately, even though the police did move, only a few men directly related to the killing of the two college students got apprehended and jailed. The others could not be arrested due to a lack of evidence, and because the villagers knew how to look honest and nice and arouse the sympathy of the masses, the police force did not make things difficult for them.
So just like that, not even five evildoers had been trialed. The most unacceptable fact for the surviving students was how those men were only sentenced to twenty years in prison and five years of community service. Only twenty freaking years! Even though two lives were lost and one was severely traumatized due to the abuse she went through! How could they accept that?!
corrections and suggestions all welcome. thanks for reading, stay healthy, and good night!
